We couldn't be happier about choosing Xaviera's B&B when coming to Amsterdam! The service was top notch, our room was great(haven't slept that good in a long time), good vibes, calm neighborhood with everything still within reach, and last but not least; Xaviera & Philip are such wonderful and interesting people and made our stay perfect. We are definitely coming back! Lots of love from Norway♡

We had a great stay with Philip and Xaviera. The room is spacious and clean with a nice balcony. They were super friendly and gave us lots of tips. Breakfast was also great and my daughter loved playing with the puppy. We wil Def try and stay here again om out next visit.

I spent two nights at Xaviera's B&B while in Amsterdam for a weekend. I was with a few friends and we stayed in the David & Goliath rooms. We loved the place! Both rooms were very nice, comfortable and clean (in the Goliath we even had a fridge). The toilet and shower are shared and divided into two smaller rooms. Breakast was delicious! And it included the company of a little dog and two beautiful cats. The location is good, it's a very quiet place but not too far from the city centre and you can walk to the Van Gogh museum (it takes about 15-20 minutes). Last but not least, Xavier and Philip were wonderful hosts! They gave us advice on what to see in Amsterdam or where to eat and we had interesting conversations with Xaviera. Should I ever go back to Amsterdam, I'd love to stay at the Happy House again.

We wanted something different from the usual impersonal hotels, so chose to stay three nights with Xaviera and Philip. Good choice, our room was spacious and comfortable with a huge bed, table and chairs, a fridge (but no milk for the coffee and tea provided), and a balcony. The shower room and toilet which have been recently updated, are just across the hall and shared with just one other room, so not a problem. The toilet is rather bijou, resulting in the occasional banged knee or elbow. Breakfast was good, cold cuts, cheese and warm rolls, a couple of choices of condiments, plus egg cooked the way you want and coffee or tea. Good conversations with the hosts, although we were rather surprised to be asked to pay in cash when the Booking.com site specifically stated that credit cards were accepted. Be aware also that a Trip Advisor search for 'free parking' brings this b&b up, but parking is NOT free. Parking in the driveway costs 30 euros per day (only marginally cheaper than the 24 hour street parking charge of $36 per day). Transport links to the city centre are a five minute walk away in Beethovenstraat and you can buy a 24 hour or multi-day tram ticket from the bookshop and catch a #5 tram. The restaurant Fidelio on the corner is fabulous! Overall, we recommend the Happy House as a laid-back and comfortable place to stay

It tool a while to get used to the color scheme. The lights were not adequate. The location is amazing! Easy to walk to lots of places. Phillip was a great host. They did a load of laundry for us at a fair price. Great eggs in the morning. They helped getting our bags upstairs.

My partner and I stayed at this B & B from 5/11/19 to 5/15/19 at the conclusion of our transatlantic cruise on the Norwegian Pearl! The accommodations were excellent. We had a "private chalet" which was clean & comfortable! ||||The daily breakfast was excellent, served by the two gentlemen who took care of the facility. We were privileged to meet Xavier & her husband upon our arrival and spend some time chatting with them before they left for warmer climates in Spain!||||This is located in an excellent part of town with many restaurants nearby as well as the public transit trams which are easy to understand!||||We look forward to returning sometime!

Stayed in the Goliath room with my wife and young son, and had a very pleasant stay. Had the pleasure of chatting with M. Hollander quite a few times and she’s a very welcoming hostess. Her husband Philip had lots of good advice in Amsterdam and was kind enough to drop us at the local train station after our stay. The room is suitable for a couple and child or friendly friend :) The home is very convenient for the #5 and 24 tram to the city and there’s lots of dining choices nearby.

I'm writing this on my penultimate night here. My husband booked it as a surprise birthday trip, he told me a little of Xaviera's story and we set out on our first trip ever to the Netherlands. We had a grand idea of what we thought our trip would look like, but in all actuality our stay in the bed and breakfast has been the highlight. I can't say that it feels like staying with family, because for me personally vacation is time away from family and really get rest and adventure. What was provided by this stay was a very warm welcome with engaging hosts that are absolutely prepared to offer you any accommodation needed, or point you exactly to where you did not know you needed to go. We brought along our Doberman and our cat, which were also welcomed with open arms. I have every intention of returning here many times over. You know why you come to visit the Netherlands, it's a huge relief to also feel like you know you're returning to a home that has so much heart in it.
