Xenon Apollonos

There are only 3 rooms in this lovely boutique hotel, which are traditionally decorated. Location is perfect - just a few minutes walk to the town centre in one direction and a few minutes to the sea swimming area in the other which you can look out into from the balcony. Mary our host was a delight and gave us some great restaurant recommendations. A thoroughly enjoyable 2 day stay.

The location of this hotel right in Vaporia can't be beat. It is right on the Aegean Sea in an old charming neoclassical building. The breakfasts were delicious, and Mary was so helpful in every way. We stayed in the Green Room, and the one thing I would say is that although the room was spotless, it was a little tired. The bathroom could use some updates (more towel racks, updated shower head so you can wash your hair more easily...). And, with the bed upstairs, it can be a little daunting to go down the stairs in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, so be cautious booking this room if stairs are difficult for you. Plus, there is an armoire upstairs, but the room could use a lot more storage space with drawers and a luggage rack. I understand maintaining the charm with the antique furniture, but , again, the room needs a few updates to make it more practical. In my humble opinion, the lay out of the room could be reversed to make for a much more comfortable stay, but all in all the charm of the building, Mary's kindness, and the beauty of Syros makes this a 5 star experience.

During our Greek odyssey this summer we stayed in hotel Xenon Apollonos for 2 nights. It was a perfect stay since the hotel is very comfortable, with nicely decorated rooms - we stayed in the green room - high service and a lovely view from the balcony on the sea below. Breakfast is varied and served in the beautiful breakfast room with high ceilings. There is a living room with comfy sofas to relax. Swimming in the sea is amazing! The town of Hermoupolis is an attractive historical place with neoclassical mansions and a lively harbour. Lots of nice places to have dinner e.g. Kouzina and Mommo.

We stayed 2 nights in this lovely, beautiful, personal boutique hotel. It is good value for money. Location is the best. The sea view from our (blue) room is superb, seeing the sunrise from your comfortable bed! Good shower! Host Mary is such a nice person and serves a great breakfast! We absolutely loved this place. So happy we found this hidden gem!

Very small, calm and comfortable boutique hotel in Vaporia, the most charming area in Ermoupoulis. It is a neoclassical building renovated in excellent taste. The owner and his son are perfect hosts, they assisted us with every need we had. Some rooms have a magnificent view to the sea. Very good breakfast.

Myself and my husband stayed for 3 nights . I had visited Syros many times before and had always liked the area the hotel is located in ( very close to the main square , in the town ) The hotel has 3 rooms , 2 of which have beautiful sea views. It is in a renovated neoclassical villa. We had a lovely room with amazing sea views and a great sitting area. Our only complaint would be that the bathroom was a bit on the small side but the rest of the room made up for it! The hotel lounge ( seaview & balcony) breakfast room and courtyard are all beautiful . Breakfast was plentiful and very nice ; Georges , the owner was very attentive. I'm not sure what the availability of snacks and food was during the day as we were mostly out but there was always someone there in the morning and the evening. Not far from the hotel there is a platform where one can access the sea from.

How lucky I feel! I found this boutique hotel by accident and spent the best holidays I ever had. Both stylish and atmospheric, over the sea in the most beautiful part of Syros. Unforgettable was also the hospitality and the special care of George, the owner. ||I left with so many beautiful memories and the promise that this gift I will do again to myself but also to my partner very soon.||

We have been to Syros every year for the past 7 years and love everything about it except this hotel/bed & breakfast. It seemed as if the owners have given up on the hotel, starting from the dirty courtyard. Its a very quaint little hotel with only 3 rooms & it could have such potential. Even though most beds in Greece are hard (what's up with that??) These were probably the worst we've ever slept in. Terrible sheets, blanket etc. The 12 inch TV was from 1975 and had one fuzzy channel. Granted, you dont go on vacation to watch TV but really?? At night when you came in it was so dark I felt like a teenager sneaking home. This hotel was old, dark & dingy. Dont stay here if you want a good nights sleep. All in all the worst stay in Syros ever.
