"Romantic Hotsprings About 45 minutes outside Xi'an, at the foot of Mount Lishan, is the Huaqing Hotspring (or Huaqing Chi). These grounds were the setting to the love story between Emperor Xuangzong and his concubine Yang Guifei, one of the four beauties of ancient China. The hotsprings is located on the same grounds as the Huaqing Palace, and the Emperor dedicated plenty of resources into completing the grounds with gorgeous greenery, plunge pools, beautiful architecture, and the artificial Nine Dragon Lake, which, during the warmer season, is dotted with pretty floating lotus flowers that accompany the marble statue of Yang Guifei that stands nearby."

Hot spring for the Tang emperor and empress, nice site to visit with history. Location is very scenic and hot spring water is at 42C constant temperature. It is nice to bundle the visit with terracotta worrier, both sites are close to one another. You can experience the hot spring, but at a very steep price!!!

What a wonderful garden! Although it was extremely hot and humid, the beautiful scenery I was able to witness made everything worth it!

First of all, this place is easily accessible by bus (from Xian train station). Air here is magnificent as compared to the city areas. Great views and packed with history. Many guides are around and will come up to you constantly trying to sell their service (best way to avoid the constant haggling if you does not want a guide is to just say you've been there before). Beautiful architectures on the inside and the place is big for exploring. A spring water fountain is located inside for tourists to try out the water (washing hands and faces only). If you are game enough or have enough time, Li Shan (Li Mountain) is right behind and entry to the mountain is covered with the ticket you bought to enter the hot spring. Cable car accesses are available for going up and down the mountain. However, climbing up yourself is recommended as there are many fun things along the way (like horse riding the last mile up the mountains). Overall, a really nice place to stay for the whole day.

A unique place to visit while in China. There is a little area to feel the actual hot spring water along with seeing some history. The best part in my opinion is the night show that they put on. The show was amazing and it is something people should really see when visiting.

Nice non tourist trap tourist attraction near xi an china. This place has a lot of historical significance not only because of its pools but also because of the role it played during the Chinese civil war. The food in here is not so good so make sure to eat before you come. One of my favorite things about this place is that you can dress up in ancient Chinese costumes and take pictures which I had a lot of fun doing. Highly recommend it plus it’s right next to the terra cotta warriors.

An amazing site that we would have missed if not for our tour guide at the Terra Cotta Warriors. Lots of great history here. We paid $200rmb for a guide and found it was well worth it.

30km east of Xi'an and beside the Terracotta Army, Huaqing Pool features the Imperial Pools of the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907), Pear Garden, Frost Flying Hall, Nine-Dragon Lake, Five-Room Building and Mount Li. Huaqing Pool is famous for the romantic love story of Tang Emperor Xuanzong and his concubine Yang Yuhuan. The Pear Garden in Huaqing Pool is the most famous imperial theater in China. In the Garden, Emperor Xuanzong and his concubine Yang Yuhuan created many tunes and dances. However, the most famous one, Ni Shang Yu Yi Qu has been long-lost. West of the Pear Garden stands Frost Flying Hall, aka Feishuang Hall in Chinese, the bedroom palace of Emperor Xuanzong. The name, Frost Flying, comes from an interesting story. It’s said that the whole hall is quite warm even in winter due to the hot springs. When the snow fell down upon it, all snow turned into frost at once.
