Ximuwu Lodge was truly the greatest experience of my life! As a full time wheelchair user, I can vouch with 100% certainty that this lodge is truly fully accessible at every level. I spent 4 nights with 6 friends and I was able to partake in every activity without a worry. The staff was beyond amazing and the establishment was 5 stars. Ximuwu lodge truly delivered on their “fully accessible” description. It’s the perfect safari spot!! The service, the friendliness, cleanliness, safety and overall safari experience is completely unmatched. Everyone must experience Ximuwu Lodge once in their life.

We had the pleasure of staying here for 3 nights to kick off our African adventure. After a nightmare 18 months which has left my husband disabled ximuwu was just the perfect place. |From the moment we were picked up from the nearby airport by Bradley and arriving to a welcome from Elly, Patrick, Demi and the whole team we knew we were in for a treat. |We were taken care of perfectly in a friendly and unobtrusive way which made us feel part of the family and enabled us to relax for the first time in 18 months. |The rooms are amazing, with plenty of space, huge bed, a walk in shower (and an outside shower) and a deck overlooking the waterhole. To sit on the deck in an evening watching the animals visiting the waterhole was just indescribable. |The game drives are the highlight with Bradley, Tulaney (apologies if my spelling is incorrect) and Bernard going above and beyond to ensure we saw all the fantastic wildlife in their own habitat. We saw sights and had experiences we will never forget, Even the male Elephant in Musth who was a bit annoyed with us 😂 the help and care you gave to us both also enable me to have a break too. |The food is delicious and Amanda makes sure she caters to your tastes (best eggs Benedict ever). From breakfast in the bush, an evening meal with the team down by the hide/dam and a food/wine pairing evening it was simply delicious. |We can’t thank all of you enough for making our short stay perfect and I could write a lot more. |You have a fabulous gem in the Klaserie reserve and an amazing team. |I do hope we will be back at some point in the future.

Absolutely blown away by this hotel — words can hardly do it justice. From the moment I arrived, the level of service and hospitality was nothing short of exceptional. Every member of the staff went above and beyond to make the stay seamless and memorable. The attention to detail, the ambiance, and the overall atmosphere created an experience that felt both luxurious and personal. Whether it was the beautifully maintained surroundings, the exquisite dining, or the small thoughtful touches throughout, everything was flawlessly executed. Truly a five-star experience in every sense — I can’t wait to return! Big thanks and hug to Elly, Patrick, Demi and Bradley and to all the staff 🤍

Cannot even begin to describe what an amazing experience we had at Ximuwu over the holiday. Really exceeded all expectations. The staff and owners were so incredibly attentive and committed to ensuring we had the most incredible experience. The facilities are gorgeous. The food and drinks were great. The safari drives were breathtaking. Love how small the lodge is...made it feel so intimate and personalized. 100% recommend!

OMG - if you have a handicap and have ever had the dream of going on Safari GO - GO - GO. I’ll just start with a brief description of myself. I am an 80-year-old female and in a wheelchair. I found Ximuwu quite by accident as I was arriving on a cruise ship in Cape Town and decided to do this. To say I am happy with my decision is an understatement. This was the most incredible journey of my life! || To start with, I was greeted by Bradley, one of the general managers, and assisted into a wheelchair friendly vehicle. Upon arrival the entire staff was waiting to greet me, and I felt like the Dowager Mother in Downton Abbey. I was then escorted to my room and shown around by Demi (the other half of the managerial team) but only after one of the butlers/bartenders/servers/gentlemen) also known as Alfred and Dinoh, made sure I had a fresh cold towel and a favorite drink to take with me - they had done their homework. ||Everything there is ramped or flat and set up for wheelchairs or those who rock but don’t roll. The room is not a room but a complete separate lodging, one of only four right now. Exquisitely outfitted with everything you could want or need. No detail was overlooked and almost everything was custom-made and designed. They are very large rooms with floor to ceiling, windows and doors to sit at for hours if you wanted as they had a view of the|water pond and the bush. Most mornings, I would awaken to zebras, giraffes and other game animals that were walking by or stopping for a drink. It was just marvelous.||Starting at 6 AM (my choice of time and if I wanted to go, of course,) I was escorted to the Jeep and assisted in to a wonderful spot that was elevated slightly by a lift and off we went on Safari. What an experience! on some bumpy dirt roads and off into the bush over shrubs and small trees that I was told would grow back. We managed every day for four mornings and again on four evenings between about 4:00 to 8 or 9:30 pm to search for and find ALL of the Big Five. I should say that Bernard our lead Scout, in a different vehicle and a bit ahead of us, and our Jeep Spotter Thulani did most of the searching, of course. Bradley was also the guide, the driver and a great spotter on his own and doggedly hunted down the elusive leopard with her cubs. She laidin the dark at night watching us as we watched her and never moved except to turn her head, of course. Her cubs were eating on the catch and she wasn’t going to leave them. It was unbelievably serene at that moment.||We would return from Safari in the morning to the obligatory cold cloth and drink served by the butlers ( oh so welcome) and a brunch cooked by Amanda and her two assistants. Time in the day to do anything you wanted, including a couple of spa treatments delivered by Happy in her own Spa. Happy has magical hands and I wanted to tuck her into my suitcase! Escorted back-and-forth by my wonderful gentleman and served drinks or whatever else I wanted in the world all day long. Dinner was an experience to some worldwide cuisine and Amanda outdid herself every single meal. It was truly an experience and I couldn’t eat half of it, but it was there nonetheless. Since I was truly alone, the other guests had to change dates, Demi and Bradley joined me quite often which made for very sociable meals. Patrick and Elly, the owners, live on the property - they also greeted and saw me off and checked in frequently to see if everything was going OK. The rooms were kept spotless, and the staff were silent and there when you weren’t - never intrusive - leaving little notes to connect with you. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, especially considering the location. The staff live right there in their own village and are pretty much available 24 hours a day. They are truly amazing and made me feel so welcome.||I know this is long for a review, more like a short novel, but I don’t know what I could’ve left out without covering the important things. All of them are important, especially if you’re in a wheelchair or have a disability. I have never felt so included and special in my whole life, especially now that I am older and have a disability. XIMUWU will be more than you can ever imagine and I would go back in a minute if I could. I sincerely hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

My family and I spent 3 wonderful days at the Hideaway house, which is part of the Ximuwu Lodge. We felt privileged to have visited this place, which is a true gem in South Africa. A completely unique experience, totally different from the mass tourism that exists in so many places. Everything here is carefully designed, down to the smallest detail: the impeccable decor, the exquisite food and the warm we are welcomed at all times. |The game drives were wonderful! We spent mornings and afternoons searching for wildlife and each time we found them, it was a different emotion! And everything was more special because it was just us, admiring nature, without rush and crowds of other tourists. It was a unique experience!|But the highlight were the people we met there. Voonie, Thamy, Bernard and Mike, we will always remember you! Our days were so special thanks to all the care and attention you showed us.|Thank you Elly and Patrick, you have a very special place that we will never forget.

This is a luxury lodge that makes mobility issues go away. The place is well planed for those on walkers or in wheelchairs - including the vehicles. The views are delightful. The food and service is off-the-charts good. The spa (thanks Happy) provides incredible massages and facials. Long to go back there just for those experiences. My husband became ill while there and they brought medical assistance quickly. The only negative was the guide - he clearly couldn't track well and his obsession with lions was ridiculous. We spent at least four hours in two nights looking at sleeping lions. Perhaps, if you've never been to Africa before, this is exciting. After 6 visits this was beyond boredom - and the excessive lion watching made sure we didn't have a sundowner. The sundowner on the 3rd night was lovely. The hike in the morning was special. Loved seeing all the giraffes looking at us. The gentlemen that backed up the guide were awesome.
