As you walk through the doors and explore what seems to be a museum of natural aromas. You follow the scent up the stairs to find a large table displayed with six specific scents all made from native plants and flowers of Mexico displayed scientifically with labels and linen cloths to smell the incredible formula. These multi layered scents will be stored in my brain bank forever. So pleasing and unexpectedly calming. I bought one small bottle for $95 which is very strong so it should last me a long time. I also bought a bundle of their incense, which smells a little bit like Palo Santo and it’s just incredible the way it makes my house smell. I’m going to buy more online. My experience overall was purely magical. 100% aces.

I visited Mexico City a few years ago & I still cannot believe that I had the privilege of visiting Xinú Perfumery. It’s not just an olfactory experience, but also a visual one. The boutique is hidden, but irresistibly beautiful & definitely worth a visit when you’re in or around CDMX!

Very cool experience here, their display is beautiful and their 6 main scents are all so unique. The entrance is small, just a staircase on the left side of building and you ring a bell to be let in. Then up a dark staircase in the back behind a nondescript door. All part of the experience. They have lotions and candles as well

You won’t find this place unless you are looking for it. Super cool vibe and hits all visual and sensory notes. Customer service was pleasant and knowledgeable. My daughter and nephew both purchased a set of perfumes. No.4 is my fave.

My husband requested that we visit Xinú after finding out that all the products from Casa Polanco came from the shop. It was a short walk from our hotel and upon approach we were worried that it was already closed. To enter the boutique we rang the bell and they buzzed us in and told us to come up to the 3rd floor. The entry was a cool display of perfumes and florals that you passed through to get to the staircase. The boutique on the 3rd floor was like nothing I have ever seen for a perfume store and it smelled absolutely insane. There was a large rectangular table in the center of a cavernous black room topped with an assortment of natural and organic objects. They only make a handful of scents but each one had a section of the table for presentation. The women working there walked us through how to experience each perfume and then let us go to town. My husband and I each purchased a new perfume as well as a candle to bring home. The scents are incredibly potent and the candle has a great spread that really permeates a whole room. Even if you aren’t in the market for a new fragrance, I cannot recommend the experience enough.

AMAZING experience! Loved how the entry was very unique. You call to be buzzed in and walk through their paper room and walk up 3 flight of stairs and into their experience floor. We were greeted by two young ladies, Pol(?, medium length brown hair, she explained the process) & Lillian. They offered a perfume side and the home side. Their perfume side had 6 scents. Starting with stage 1: base note, stage 2: perfume exposed to the environment (encased in a glass fixture, very abstract pieces), and stage 3: what it smells like on fabric. This is a well thought out process of how perfume changes. I would highly recommend this place if you love unique scents! It is so worth the find and the time to explore each scent. Highly recommend at least an hr to enjoy the place calmly and see how your body chemistry reacts to the perfume. **key: they don't blast the AC in here so you actually get to smell it and see how your body temp reacts to the perfume! Loved this! I went home with scent number 5 OroNardo. I have smelled many other night jasmine perfumes. However, this one lasted the longest and smelled the best on my body chemistry. I loved the attention to detail they put from the moment you enter their shop to their showroom table to the final moments of your purchase. They sprits the perfume you purchase in your bag, and you get to walk home with the lovely perfume. 😍 🥰 THANK YOU to the lovely ladies for making our perfume experience lovely.

Whoa this place is off the charts beautiful. More like a sensory museum. Really special place. The one we went to first was in downtown Mexico City. You have to ring a bell to be let in and go through some doors and some stairs. All worth it. Extraordinary place. Reasonably priced and the staff is not pushy at all.

This isn’t just a perfume house. It’s an experience. The set up was so unique and interactive. The hosts speak both Spanish and English fluently so you get an amazing tour of all the scents and their inspiration. Additionally, they have a garden with all the plants they use to make the perfumes. I will definitely be purchasing the sampler kit because I couldn’t choose a favorite!

Yelp
This was my very first experience at a boutique parfumerie, and one which I will never ever forget!!! Not only because it took my senses to another realm, but also because of the items I purchased which now have my home smelling devine. It was amazing to learn about the different ingredients, and the sheer amount of thought and environmental consciousness and enthusiasm that goes into each and every one of the perfumes and home fragrances. I bought several of the incense sticks and gifted them to friends, who have not stopped raving about how incredibly pungent and unique the scents are. Well well well worth a visit, and if you are not in Mexico City their online store has all of theit inventory available as well.

Yelp
This small, cozy, and cute perfume shop sits on a small street off the main road in Polanco. It's worth a visit, if time permits. Upon arrival, we rang the doorbell and waited as someone buzzed us in. As soon as we entered, we were welcomed by a scent that filled the air. Once inside the first floor main foyer, we went up the gray stairs. Everything is gray, from stairs, to wall, to ceiling! Upon arriving on the 2nd floor, we were greeted by two young ladies. One of which explained everything that laid in the long rectangular table. There are two separate rooms with two separate large rectangular tables that display numerous scented items. They encouraged us to smell the scents. Which we did! They also have a cute outdoor garden. There is so much going on here, playing with all your senses simultaneously. Overall experience, it was something different to do in our CDMX trip.

Yelp
Although Xinu promises bespoke scents peddled in a luxury setting, quality control is spotty, so BUYER BEWARE. In June 2024, I bought a $240 USD full-size bottle of their Aguamadera perfume at their Polanco location while on a vacation to Mexico City. My experience in-store was delightful; however, that's where the positives end. Due to the high cost of the bottle of perfume, and in acknowledgement of its fragile state, I carried it back to my hotel, put it in my carry-on luggage, and gingerly cared for the package through the airport and on the car ride home. When I opened the pristine-condition box, I not only found some inconsistencies with the inner packaging (e.g., the ingredients listed for Aguamadera were accompanied by the botanical names and images of ingredients from their Monstera perfume), but TWO *cracks* in the bottle, one small and one so large that it nearly reached the liquid contents. I emailed their customer service team with photos and videos to see whether I could mail back the damaged bottle for an intact one, and was told that I would need to *FLY BACK TO MEXICO CITY* with the bottle and packaging in hand and visit the Polanco store to determine whether or not my product qualified for an exchange. I sent them an email explaining the infeasibility of this proposal, but they rigidly stuck to their demands. It cost me over $800 USD and 14 hours round trip to fly from Seattle to Mexico City and back the first time around--an unreasonable request from their team for me to repeat this journey to resolve this issue. I followed up with their team, but received only radio silence in response. It's only a matter of time until the crack expands and the bottle breaks for good. I'd caution anyone who makes an in-store purchase to open the product before you leave it and inspect it VERY carefully. It's strange...one would expect so much better from a luxury brand that claims--but fails miserably--to put so much effort into the customer experience from start to finish. I'll never return to this shop, nor buy anything from them online in future.

Yelp
Fantastic. We learned of Xinú while visiting Masa Galleria, also in CDMX. Specifically, the day after the Brian Thoreen / Mario Garcia Torres opening, we wandered into the gallery and smelled something amazing, a candle burning. The gallerist informed us about Xinú and so we put it on our list of destinations. Finally making it to Polanco, the space defies description. The people working there were kind and welcoming, the scents and narratives on display without equal. Also they have one of the nicest bathrooms imaginable. Next door, Esrawe studio showcased some of founder Hector Esrawe's incredible designs, in a space that speaks both to the history of Polanco and the visionary future of Hector's creative practice. The woman working there, petite, freckled, and wearing what looked like flowy Yohji Yamamoto, was as stunningly beautiful as she was kind. All in all, this is a world I'd love to continue to experience. For people who love sensory and sensual experiences, Xinú is an absolute must.

Yelp
Gorgeous boutique perfume shop in Polanco. The shop itself is like a museum of how the perfumes were curated. Many different scents to choose from and they lay out everything on the table to show you the ingredients. The artwork for the booklets and the packaging is gorgeous. I also heard they don't waste any amount of liquid, it's made per batch. The bottle can be reused and recycled. About $200/bottle. Too bad they are only in Mexico City!

Yelp
Exquisite from the moment we set foot in the showroom, Xinú leaves nothing to be desired. Daniela was impeccable taking us through the pedigree of these remarkable fragrances. I can hardly wait for the launch of No.3 and No.4 later this year!
