5 businesses to hit in Danang's buzzy An Thuong neighbourhood - SilverKris

"Set in a bright, airy space with high ceilings and large windows, this café bridges Vietnamese and Western coffee traditions — creamy cappuccinos hold their own alongside ca phe sua da — and regularly changes the beans used for its Vietnamese coffee every few months, creating limited-edition brews that appeal to a young, hip local clientele." - Joshua Zukas

This XLIII Specialty Coffee, located in the center of Da Nang, is truly a hidden gem that I discovered during my first visit to the city. The café offers a spacious, comfortable, and well-designed environment, making it an ideal place for afternoon coffee, casual meetings, or even focused work sessions. What sets XLIII apart from typical cafés is its wide selection of coffee beans. U can choose from different bean varieties at varying price points, and the roasting style can be customized according to personal preference. This level of attention to detail makes the coffee experience quite unique. The average price is around VND 120,000 per cup, which is reasonable for specialty coffee of this quality. In addition to coffee, the café also offers a variety of pastries and snacks to enjoy alongside your drink. And according to the staff, XLIII has four other branches across Vietnam, including two in Ho Chi Minh City. I will definitely be visiting those locations in the future.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really enjoyed this place. The space itself is beautiful - very chill, modern, and surrounded by greenery, which makes it a great spot to slow down and enjoy your coffee. Plus the cat and dog of the other customers ❤️ Tried their coffee tasting and it was such a cool experience. The barista explained everything clearly and you can tell they really know and love what they’re doing. Getting to taste different beans side by side was fun and eye-opening, especially with how distinct each cup was. Everything felt well thought out, from the brewing to the presentation. Definitely a must-visit if you’re into specialty coffee or just want to try something different in a really nice setting.

- the staff and nice. However, not to generalized, there is a one of the members who should some attitude while ordering which much not fit my culture. Since you receive a lot of people from all over the world, it’s better to pay attention. - the coffee delivered on time and was very nice. - place is big clean and unique and feels comfortable. Overall, very good experience and recommended if you are around

We stopped by here on our way to explore the neighbouring town. We went in blind, not knowing what kind of place we were visiting, just that it had good ratings. It was a pleasant surprise. They have a great selection of light roasted coffee, no medium or dark roast. It is served in beakers, which is weird to me as a scientist. The coffee itself was very well brewed. It is definitely worth trying if you are a coffee lover. We got some snacks. The sourdough cardamom bun was very good, a nice light sourdough with a touch of cardamom. It was served warm. We also got a toast with salmon and egg and this was also very good. The cafe itself was really beautiful and peaceful. It would be a great place to relax or work remotely for an afternoon. Just be aware that it was a tad on the pricy side, it would even be expensive in the UK. It is still worth trying though.

+ spacious, bright, good coffee, cat - A few months ago, I got a xenomon here, and it was very hard and stale. I didn't write a review then, but today I also got a croissant, and it was also stale. - The plants look very unkempt, with many yellow and dry leaves. Even the main tree, which stands in the center, has many dead leaves. 🙏🏻 Overall, it's a good place to come and take photos and have a coffee. But I don't recommend eating here. If it weren't for the cat, I would have given you two stars. At least she looks pretty good and well-fed, unlike the plants.

I first discovered XLIII Coffee via the Coffee Home Brewers group from the Philippines. I live in Hue, Vietnam and I go to Da Nang every week, so upon realizing that it’ll be easy for me to visit a store, I decided to gift myself an extraordinary experience to celebrate my birthday week. The store was easy to find, it stands out because of its aesthetic and very spacious area. I was greeted warmly by Dai, who was brewing coffee at the moment. I asked about the racemosa coffee, which was the reason for my visit. He led me to the counter where I can place my order. I saw boxes of specialty coffees I’ve only been seeing online, it felt like glimpses of celebrities on a red carpet. My eyes went straight to the information cards, where the one with the pink flowers stood out. Racemosa for my first time at XLIII Coffee was unforgettable. The cutest little beans never fail to steal my heart. I was also assisted by Bi, one of the many friendly staff of the store. They are all accommodating and knowledgeable. I asked many questions about the coffees, especially my longtime curiosity about the naming convention of the XLIII products. Loved how organized it was, and finding out what every letter stood for was a delight. Roy, the team member who took my order, shared some information about the experiences that XLIIII Coffee can offer. I am keen on trying the subscription box, probably when I get more practice in brewing at home. Nancy was also very informative. Loved her voice and the way she knew how to say “salamat” — it’s nice to know that Filipinos are recognized here as true coffee lovers. 🫶🏼 I just know many people from my country would love the experience. It’ll be a treat for specialty coffee lovers to step foot into this store. I enjoyed the food as well, I’m a pesto gurlie at heart, so I knew I had to try their pasta. The texture and flavor blended perfectly for me. Everything was memorable. But the moment of tasting racemosa will echo across many of my writing pieces because every time I’ve tasted the coffee marked a freeze-frame I’d want to capture again and again. I’ll definitely come back. ✨

We were totally caught off guard by the prices — we picked this café purely based on the reviews and walked in without looking at the menu. At that point, it was too late to walk back out, lol! The barista was very patient and super helpful, recommending which beans pair well with milk and which ones are better enjoyed black. Our drinks came out after about 10 minutes and they did not disappoint. I’m no coffee connoisseur, but I genuinely enjoyed my 250,000 VND coffee. I’d definitely come back to try more of their beans because I really like what they’re doing here. ☕️✨

The staffs in this cafe are super nice and very good in English. They are very patient with the customer, me and my husband not an expert of coffee, the staffs explain the differences of each coffee bean and what is good for beginners to try etc… They really showed they care the customer. The vibe , the interior design and the atmosphere is good and chill here. It would be a plus if they have light background music. We enjoy being here, also play with the cat here, good place!
