It’s difficult for me to write this, but I have to. I’ve been a loyal customer of this restaurant since 2014 — it’s always been one of my go-to places. The formula was simple and great: fresh food, a short seasonal menu with 8–10 options, and consistent quality.
Unfortunately, my last visit was a shock. The service was sloppy, the food underwhelming, and the atmosphere unpleasant. The pasta arrived almost cold and even though it was mentioned served with caramelised Walnut, it was served with not caramelised Hazelnut!!!, the fish — while fresh — wasn’t seasoned properly, and the wine was average yet overpriced. Even the Averna Sour came in at 10€, which felt excessive.
The biggest issue, though, was the smoke. The entire room was filled with it all evening. When I mentioned it to the waitress and suggested opening the doors, she replied, “Yes, we know,” and turned on the ventilation — which clearly wasn’t working. Only after nearly an hour did they finally open the doors so the smoke could clear.
To make things worse, there was a bug on our table. We told the waitress we had used a napkin to remove it, but she never replaced it or cleaned the spot before we left.
Later, I found out the restaurant has new owners — which sadly explains a lot.
I’ll give it one more chance and update this review if I see the old Xpedit spirit return. But for now, this reflects the reality: one of my longtime favorites has turned into just another “visited” restaurant — and that honestly makes me sad.
