12 Most Iconic Spanish Dishes and Where to Try Them - AFAR

"A Catalan churrería serving classic Spanish churros—fried dough shaped into sticks or loops, often dusted with sugar and commonly paired with thick hot dipping chocolate. This simple, indulgent treat reflects centuries-old chocolate traditions brought to Spain from the Americas." - Chloe Arrojado

Google
I ate at a lot of churro places and this one is the best. Their churro is delicious, fresh, chewy and crispy. The chocolate sauce is not as good as the ones with pure chocolate, but that enables it to be drinkable and not over burden the original flavor of the churro themselves. The coffee is not bad either, the cortado is good. The lines are long but they go fast and there's room to eat inside or outside on the sidewalk. However, outside there's also ppl sometimes smoking which can ruin the flavor. Highly recommend if you're visiting or living in the area.

Google
I really loved these churros, so much that I went back two days in a row to have them with hot chocolate. Excellent, not greasy. The chocolate wasn’t too sweet. A perfect combination!

M S

Google
Hands down best churros ever! Definitely get it paired with chocolate for dipping (and you can drink the thick chocolate after). €5.20 for churros chocolate set They also served another fried dough stick called porras, which I wasn’t familiar with (pictured)

Google
Super fresh & delicious churros! The place is not very big and it looked busy when we arrived, but we didn't have to wait too long before seats got free. Rich & velvety chocolate went so well with crunchy churros 💗 Coffee was tasty too.

Google
We visited Xurreria Laietana in Barcelona and tried churros with chocolate for the first time. They were delicious – crispy, fresh, and perfect with the chocolate. The staff was very kind and welcoming, which made the visit even better. A great place to enjoy a true local treat!

Google
Best churros & hot chocolate in town in my opinion. Churros are freshly made on the spot and are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Hot chocolate also not too sweat.

Mini K.

Google
Small cozy place spécialisé in Churros. You can choose plain one with just sugar or with a dip of hot chocolate. Recommend to try with chocolate as this offer a totally different experience.

Google
We visited this churrería purely based on the reviews, and it turned out to be a great choice. Service was friendly and fast, and we were able to pay by card (pretty sure they take cash as well). We ordered churros with chocolate, and they were delivered quickly. There are other options on the menu too. I’ve had churros with chocolate before and they were different, but I really enjoyed these as well — the chocolate reminded me a bit of a rich chocolate pudding, but thicker and more intense. Really tasty. Later I noticed they also had porras, so I ordered a single one just to finish the chocolate — also very good. Overall, a pleasant experience and definitely recommended.

Yelp
My friends and I went for a breakfast of chocolate, churros and coffee while in Barcelona at Churrería Laietana one morning. Churros con chocolate is everywhere around Barcelona, but this spot stands above the rest. One of the fun things about this location is you go through the line and see the churros being made. As a tourist, I thought it was really cool to see them dipping and making the churros. After ordering, you sit down at a table to eat your noms. They had a good amount of seating indoors to relax and dine at. Now, the churros weren't quite as soft as I had hoped but the chocolate was smooth and rich, not overly sweet. Churrería Laietana also had porras pastries which I actually preferred to the churros. They are larger and softer than churros, great consistency and they dipped equally well into the cup o'choc lol. For under 10 euros, you really can't go wrong with this tasty treat or breakfast.

Yelp
Food - 4/5 Was on the hunt for some churros while in Barcelona and this spot was it. The churros are hot and fresh and oh so tasty. They are so cheap for so many churros. Love they sprinkle the sugar after putting it into the paper cone so some of them come out plain and some with sugar. Dip it into coffee like a cookie and it's so delicious. A must try when in Barcelona. Service - 4/5 Fast and friendly. No fuss and just straight forward. Ambiance - 4/5 No frills little cafe. A few bar stools to enjoy a cup of coffee but definitely not a place to hang for long.

Yelp
A must while in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter. I love this for breakfast but any time of day works. For two people we got 1 order of churros, 1 order of porras (porras are like a chinese donut + funnel cake), and 2 chocolates - though if you don't mind doubling dipping then 1 chocolate is plenty. We also got 2 café con leche (coffee with milk) since it was breakfast time, and while it was nice to dip the churros/porros in, it was hot outside and the coffee wasn't anything spectacular. Total €12

Yelp
The churros was a perfect balance of crispy on the outside and soft and chewy in the inside. We ordered one regular bag which came with about 6 pieces. It also came with a decadent rich cup of chocolate. The chocolate was dense, rich, and leaned toward a dark chocolate. It was mouthwatering delicious. They made it there fresh and served it hot crab out of the oven! Yum!

Yelp
Does anyone ever get bothered by Churros that have filling inside? Is that just me? Ok then... All jokingness aside I thought this place was amazing. The people working here were all friendly enough and the ambiance was a little on the hipster side. It is kinda small inside so just be aware that depending on how busy it is, you may or may not be able to sit down. But rest assured that this place is definitely worth it. Not only did the churros taste fresh but you are able to get a chocolate dipping sauce on the side if you are into that kinda thing. I personally thought they don't even need it. The texture of each stick was perfectly crunchy on the outside but of course warm and soft on the inside. They also aren't overly sweet either. These actually might be some of the best churros I've ever had in my life but also keep in mind that I'm not a super dessert person. I do think that if I ever come back to Barcelona, this place will have to be a tradition that I come back to each time though. It was truly magic eating these the morning of my last day here.
google avatar

Alison K.

Yelp
Really tasty hot and fresh churros and chocolate! The chocolate is creamy and not too sweet. They give a large cup of it, so I was eating with a spoon when the churros ran out. I should have gotten some porras to dunk too. We went early in the morning, so it wasn't busy yet. Another couple ordered the same thing right after us - they thought their order was given to us because we got a hot chocolate and they got an order of churros. Not sure why we weren't given both chocolate and churros at the same time, but we got the balance right after so it made no difference.
google avatar

Dfrancisco G.

Yelp
Very dense Chocolate very crispy churro very delicious, the service was fast and they make the churro there, ambience hmmm not so much it's very small place, this is in and out. But it's really good snack food definitely I'll be back for more.

Yelp
Super yummy !! Highly recommended! You can see how the churros are made. The chocolate dip makes it super tasty. Best churros I tasted
google avatar

Yelp
Finally have in as there are churro places everywhere in this part of Barcelona and this place seemed busy and rating was the next. Great choice they were so efficient although they were so busy with line outside their shop, it's a small place so not to many spots to sit at but wow the churros we on point, they serve it with a chocolate dipping sauce that is hot and tasted like pudding to us. Had coffee con leche they was great and really enjoyed this place which is extremely affordable , great service and very cool ambiance. You see the churros being made as you walk up to order and they also make patatas or fried potato chips and another similar looking churro looking thing that looks really good. What a great find and perfect way to finish a long day of sight seeing in the Gothic Center of Barcelona.
google avatar

Carmen W.

Yelp
The best churros in town! Fresh and pairs perfectly with the cup of hot chocolate that almost seems impossible to finish... One thing that I love about these churros are that they use a more salted dough which is so unlike many other churro spots. The chocolate adds the finishing sweet touches along with the sprinkled sugar. Service is quick and efficient. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Mm hmm. Yeeeep. OOOH yeah! These churros are bombtastic!!! I can easily say that these are some of the best churros that I've ever had. They're a lot different from Mexican churros, but damn are they scrum-diddily-umptious!   Came here for some dessert after having dinner nearby and this place hit the spot. Like many places Barcelona, this spot has a pretty small interior with limited seated. I'd say that it's setup like your typical cafe with a glasses case of baked goodies and counter seating in the back. Since this is one of the most popular churros places in Barcelona, you should definitely expect to wait in some sort of it. Luckily, the line moves quickly. The menu is pretty straight forward; you've got your cafe drinks and of course, your churros. They have their kitchen out in front, so you can watch the crew making fresh batches of churros right in front of you. I ordered churros with dipping chocolate and a cafe con leche. These churros are prepared with the perfect amount of crispiness, and the dough is so damn fresh. Unlike churros that are made in the states, these churros aren't served dripped in cinnamon sugar. Instead, you pour the sugar on top with a spoon (if you want them with sugar). So, they aren't super sweet, but wow! You can really taste the difference because of it. And that dipping chocolate!!! Get this!!! Again, it isn't heavily sweet but the richness of it all is just... mmmm. The rich chocolate mixed with the crispy churro dough is like a match made in heaven! Before you know it, you've devoured them within the speed of light. The cafe con leche is quite tasty too. Also, the people who work here are some of the most honest and caring. I unknowingly dropped 20 euro on the ground that I couldn't see while I was sitting down. One of the staff members came from behind the counter, picked up the money, and gave it back to me discreetly. The place is certainly the real deal! I can honestly say that these are the best churros that I've had to date. Now that I've been exposed to these delicious Spanish churros, I don't think I'll ever be satisfied with the churros back home. Churrería Laietana has spoiled me rotten.

Yelp
Love, love, love... Churreria Laietana is awesome. Very fresh churros (made right in front of you), great coffee, delicious dipping chocolate - what more could you possibly want ?!? I can't wait for our next trip to Barcelona so we can get another churro here. Simply delicious.
google avatar

Shirley O.

Yelp
Fried dough is always great comfort food. This is a small eatery with limited seating. The churros with melted chocolate were very good, inexpensive and not too sweet. The churros were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The melted chocolate was great for dipping and drinkable. It did not have a rich chocolate taste and was not high quality chocolate. Nevertheless, it was a great dessert. Service was quick and to the point. Other than coffee, there wasn't much else to drink. Maybe adding water and other drinks would be nice to quench the thirst after eating.

Yelp
"I'll tell you in another life, when we both are cats." - Penélope Cruz Hoy! Churrería Laietana is still my favorite place in all of Latin Europe! The charming familia owned cafe can be found in the historic Barri Gòtic! Prices are incredible with nothing over €4 (Euros)! Yet, if you're short on currency they happily accept credit cards too! Churrería Laietana opens early at 7am and closes after 8pm, but it's important to know siesta hours are observed from 1pm - 4:30pm and closed Saturday! If staying in Barcelona walking should be a first choice since it's such a charming city. I arrive early as I am early bird that catches the churro! This my third visit! Upon entering, sometimes line will be out the door, you will be warmly greeted in Spanish, especially dark hair dudes like me jaja! If you are not fluent in Spanish it's okay as family members all speak enough English. I would suggest at least know "Hola" & "Gracias" in respects. Spaniards appreciate if you at least try! I order Chocolat Caliente y Chocolat con Churros! The Hot Chocolat is perhaps the richest I've had, ever! I'd suggest adding a tad hot water or milk. Churros here are what dreams are made of! So fresh, as you watch Señor frying it in front of you! Crisp on the outside and a nice chewy inside. Just incredible! Mmm Take-outs are quite popular with working Spaniards, but if you want a true foodie experience, slow down, appreciate life, find a stool and enjoy the moment! It's a tad more to dine-in, like most European cafes, but always so worth, especially like iconic spots like this! If you are blessed to be in Barcelona I highly recommend a stop in Churrería Laietana for the best churros in the world... hands down! I may be loco, but to me, it's the best deal in the universe! No importa que nos separe la distancia, siempre habrá un mismo cielo que nos una. 'Til we meet again... Te Amo...

Yelp
First meal in Barcelona. Seriously. It's just how I roll. Arrived in Barcelona late afternoon. Checked in to the hotel, dropped off luggage and went exploring. I wasn't hungry and when my friend suggested Churros and Hot Chocolate - and it happened to be on my on my things to do list - she didn't hear an argument from me. Dessert for dinner. That's adulting 101. Find the spot and it's jumping. Line out the door. Inside packed. Small place. No tables. Just a counter with maybe about a dozen seats. Then a bar with about four seats. Ordered and was lucky to grab two seats at the bar. Got an order of Churros and Hot Chocolate. No Porras available. I enjoyed my first taste of anything in Barcelona. See pics. Churros were great. Not hot out of the oil but we did take pics so they cooled down some. The Hot Chocolate was like Pudding. Viscous. Not liquid like we're used to here in the States. Dip. Eat. Repeat. Would I go back. Yeah! Even tried to. To try the Porras. But they were closed.

Yelp
**December 2022: Thursday Night Visit** My friend and I flew in in the later afternoon, so after we dropped off our luggage at the hotel and started to explore the city. It was already 7:30pm by the time we left our hotel and while I was still pretty exhausted from the flight I convinced my friend and I to go get dessert (although honestly, I really didn't need to twist his arm for the request) lol Located in the Gothic Quarter Churreria Laietana is a hotstop for locals and tourists alike. When we arrived (around 8pm) there were a ton of people out the door chomping on churros. Seating is limited, but eventually my friend and I were able to snag a counter seat to enjoy our goodies. I really wanted to try the porras - which I've been told is like a Chinese donut (€1.4), but unfortunately, they were all out so my friend and I settled on churros (€1.40) and Xocolata (€2.40) aka Hot Chocolate. The treats were good, but I'm not sure if I had taken too many photos so it cooled down really fast. I like my churros pippin' hot and these were like room temperature; however, I did enjoy dipping them in my hot chocolate. I think this was more of a 3.5 experience but did you look at the prices?! I can guarantee you won't find that in the states - hence I'm a fan!
google avatar

Ryan M.

Yelp
3.5 stars The churros were fresh and crunchy. I wish the chocolate was chocolate-ier, it tasted like a warm pudding. The shop is small and you should be able to walk there from your hotel. I think I've had better churros off a Mexican street vendor but maybe it's just the circumstances and I was expecting too much out of this place that was so hyped up. I'll update if I find the next churro with chocolate to be much inferior. For now it's pretty good. Maybe try ordering the thicker churro. One thing if you eat in , order first , they'll bring it to you, eat, then pay after before you leave.
google avatar

Alexa C.

Yelp
Amazing business owner and hardworking team. You can taste it in their food. Freshly made to order every minute.

Dave K.

Yelp
The Chocolate con Churros was why we visited and they were amazing. My wife really enjoyed them. The service was great too. It's a very quaint little shop.
google avatar

Arthur L.

Yelp
When in Barcelona do Churros. Churrería Laietana on Carrer Laietana is the best. When visiting and want to try the best the authentic churros come here. Enjoyed my time here. Highly recommend
google avatar

Young C.

Yelp
Finally gave this place a try since it had such high rating.. Churro was yummy.. Nice hot crispy.. Hot choco added nice addition to the churro. By itself was still yummy. I don't think it's the best I've ever had, but it was still yummy. Order of churro and choco was under 4 euro so can't beat the price.
google avatar

Lisa V.

Yelp
Awesome churros! We tried this place because of Yelp reviews and boy was it worth it!
google avatar

Tina V.

Yelp
Found this churros place and it was heavenly. It's small, service was quick, and the chocolate they serve with the churros was warm, rich and good enough to drink. I may have spooned up or drank the left over chocolate. The churros were fresh, crunchy with just the right amount of sugar and was not overly sweet. Best churros in Barcelona and must go when in town.
google avatar

Emily R.

Yelp
They say that when you come to Barcelona, one of the signature breakfasts are churros dipped in chocolate. This was the place to come for that exact breakfast. They have them everywhere, but this place is pretty special. The service was super nice and attentive. Even though they were busy, they acknowledged you entering. This way you don't feel overlooked. They also have their cook making the churros right in front of you. In fact, you can watch them make it on the street. I ordered the churros with a cafe con leche. The churros were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The chocolate was rich and not too sweet which paired perfectly with the churro. The coffee was pretty good as well. While the inside is small, people usually eat and go so there is a pretty quick turn around. We were able to snag two seats even though it was completely full when we entered. I highly recommend this place if you are in Barcelona.

Ted Q.

Yelp
Great Start to the Day! The prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly, and the service is quick. We arrived early, so there was room at the counter to enjoy our churros and chocolate. Speaking of the churros, they were fresh and hot with a crispy outside and a soft inside. The large cup of chocolate goo was warm and smooth without being overwhelmingly sweet (in other words, the opposite of American hot chocolate). As a bonus, the churros are made at the front of the restaurant. There is something mesmerizing about watching the gentleman make them, snipping the dough into the proper lengths and allowing them to float in the oil until they are perfect. It is definitely worth visiting at least once while you're in Barcelona. Hint: you're starting your day with dessert (not that there's anything wrong with that), so plan on a real breakfast and/or brunch before or after this stop.
google avatar

Anabel G.

Yelp
Traveling to Barcelona & was recommended this place by a friend- as a solo tourist I wish I knew that it's a quick pace & the staff ask you different questions so pay attention until they bring you the food. The staff were nice although since I wasn't aware of the etiquette they did make a comment about me not being from there I speak Spanish so I understood everything they were saying lol Anyway the churros were super delicious, the environment is small & there is random rush hours- when I sat down the rush hour had just passed & it was pretty empty. Definitely recommend trying the churros with the chocolate! Besides the staff making that comment everything else was great !
google avatar

Karen L.

Yelp
Tiny place for chocolate and churros. You can see them making the churros, so they're hot and fresh when you get them. Chocolate was thick and rich, churros were crunchy and soft. Together, they were delicious.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Fast service even when crowded, which was both times we went. Churros crispy outside with nice and nut too sweet chocolate!
google avatar

Shirley B.

Yelp
Found this gem on the last trip to Barcelona, and am happy to see they survived the pandemic. Located just around the corner from the Catedral de Barcelona, Churrería Laietana is a must when in Barcelona. I'd recommend the churros and porras combo plate - so you get a bit of both worlds. The porras are more doughy like a donut, and the churros are crispier due to their shape. They will come with a dusting of sugar, and you can get chocolate sauce (in a cup) for dipping. Have a cafe con leche or cortado to accompany them. They take cash and cards, but keep in mind this is a morning thing and they close by 2pm.

David G.

Yelp
My first real churro experience. Hand made and fried on the spot with a variety of toppings, but I keep it simple with just cinnamon and sugar and it was heaven!
google avatar

Pam A.

Yelp
A must when visiting Barcelona! This is the go to spot for churros and chocolate. Simple menu, inexpensive, and fast service, what more can you ask for? Limited seating, but usually you don't have to wait too long. Take away option available if you don't want to eat there.
google avatar

Brittany N.

Yelp
I loved this place. I learned in Spain, I don't dislike chocolate. I'm just picky about what I like. The chocolate sauce and churros are to die for here. They only do one thing: and they do it right. There's a line out the door starting at open... and it's definitely worth the wait. They have 2 styles: one is a traditional churro (not sure the name of the other) but reminds me more of a funnel cake but thicker. Similar taste, different texture. But seriously... get it with the chocolate sauce!!! It will change your life I also had a cappuccino with mine was well, I dipped my churros in both the chocolate and coffee... sooo good :))
google avatar

Mikhail V.

Yelp
Read reviews of this place and saw a line going out the door in the morning to get churros so wanted to visit to get the authentic good churros. Honestly the churros and chocolate is great but the chocolate I think could be better. If I am ever in the city I would visit again because churros are excellent.
google avatar

Melinda R.

Yelp
The best rated churros in town. It was nice that you can watch how churros are made and so it is served hot with the warm chocolate. The chocolate is rich. A must have while in Barcelona.
google avatar

Emma F.

Yelp
How can you come to Spain without trying the famed churros with chocolate? You can walk into the shop and see the churros being freshly made. They are served straight out of the fryer and sprinkled lightly with sugar. They were perfectly crisp on the outside and doughy inside. The chocolate is rich and thick and not too sweet. Its viscosity makes it perfect for dipping your churros in. We ended up getting an additional order of churros to finish off the chocolate.
google avatar

Em D.

Yelp
Churros were cooked to perfection. Chocolate was delicious! Not to sweet! Small, family-owned business. Service was prompt and efficient.

Joseph A.

Yelp
Only€3.50 where others charge €7.50 For churros with optional sugar added and delicious chocolate elixir . This was the first time I've had this ever, on vacation from home in California and I'm hooked! Oh my. I can't even describe the deliciousness which I thought was going to be sickly sweet or otherwise disappointing. First of all the churro is different than what we have in California, not nearly as oily and when coated with the amazing chocolate it's like nothing I've ever experienced anywhere. I tried to get this near Sagrada Familia and the cafe there charged €7.50!! Churreria Laietana will always be in my vacation dreams about Barcelona .
google avatar

Blue A.

Yelp
TLDR: loves up to the hype. ____ Every morning of my trip. I wanted to come here. One day it was closed all day. Another day we'd already decided on eggs for breakfast. Another day we just missed closing time by a half hour. And finally. Finally it happened. I finally made it and got my churro and hit chocolate Fix! For just €3.70 you get a nice size portion of churros and a thick and delicious hot chocolate. I shared mine, but could have done a whole order to the face. Easy. This is a Tiny place and it's cheaper if you're taking it to go. We snagged two seats on the "ledge" in the cramped quarters and enjoyed our sweet treat sitting down. The crispy, sugar coated churros are made fresh. The thick hot chocolate is the consistency of honey almost. It's a decadent delight for sure.
google avatar

Eugene W.

Yelp
It only took one bite for me to decide this place deserves 5 stars. Those churros are DELICIOUS. They are more lightly sugared than Mexican ones, and are so crispy. They have a giant vat of oil where they freshly fry churros and you get them sizzling hot out of the fryer. You must get the chocolate with the churros. An order of churros con chocolate costs less than 4 euros! The combination of the hot crispy churro with the warm decadent chocolate is just too good. The cup of chocolate they give you is much more than you need for the churros, so I'd recommend finding other stuff you can dip in the chocolate after you're done (bread? chips?).
google avatar

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Most amazing churros I have ever had my entire life! Oh why does it have to be so far away from where I live! Come here and grab the coffee and churro combo and you won't regret it. The churro is a perfect mix of crispy on the outside, soft in the middle and a little bit salty. Then sprinkled with sugar gives it the perfect amount of sweet and salty paired with your coffee. Most importantly, they make it so fresh and it is made directly in front of you. Great for a date!
google avatar

Hilary R.

Yelp
The quintessential stop in Barcelona....churros y chocolate! Definitely a must visit. Fast, friendly, family run and very inexpensive! Counter seating only, but customers seem to move quickly in and out of there. Conveniently located on the street where the gothic quarter meets the El Born neighborhood.
google avatar

Benito C.

Yelp
We arrived based on reviews for a quick snack. My wife loved the chocolate and churros. We will definitely look for this place again when we visit Madrid. Chocolate wasn't so sweet it turned your stomach, and the churros were crunchy on the outside, and soft and chewy on the inside. Perfect breakfast stop, or for a nice snack.
google avatar

janet l.

Yelp
This charming little place served the best churros I have ever eaten, especially dipped into thick chocolate, a little piece of heaven. So many eateries in US and in Europe have not survived the pandemic in so many ways and it was nice to see a small place like this survive. We just happened upon it as we were discovering Barcelona prior to boarding our cruise
google avatar

Janice L.

Yelp
So happy we found this little churreria! Located on a busy street, it might be easy to miss the storefront if you walk by too quickly. The thing to get here is obviously the churros con chocolate. You can eat there for 3,40€ or choose take away for 3,70€. My husband and I shared one ordered of churros con chocolate and one order of porras. The staff was very friendly and great at making sure everyone got the right orders even when the shop was crowded. The Churros: Perfectly crispy and fresh! In fact, you can see a man frying up new batches of churros at the front of the shop as you wait. The best part is that the churros do not taste/feel oily at all. The Chocolate: Sweet, but not overly so. I'll add a caveat that we were traveling from the US and are used to overly sweet desserts. While I tend to have a sweet tooth, my husband does not and he loved this. One cup of chocolate was plenty for dipping both the churros and porras. The Porras: This was our first time trying porras and we loved them! Also fresh and crunchy, they reminded us of a Chinese "you tiao" which is also a typical breakfast food. Overall, we loved our experience at Churreria Laietana! We enjoyed our breakfast so much that we came back a second time for a snack in the afternoon before dinner. We highly recommend!

Alice C.

Yelp
Little gem down the main street in the Gothic district. The churro was amazing and the hot chocolate was rich, thick and not too sweet. Also tried the porras y cafe con leche but prefer the lighter churros. Great friendly people behind the counter. This is a must stop while in Barcelona!

Yelp
Maybe the best churros in Barcelona--definitely up there with Xurreria dels Banys Nous. These are seriously no joke and made fresh to order (as they should be!). The first couple times we visited Barcelona, we weren't able to check this place out. But this time around, we were lucky to be staying nearby and that they were open during COVID--even late for takeout. So we swooped them both nights to snack on in the street. They're piping hot and served with a little bit of sugar. You can get them with chocolate, but I usually get them without. Keep it simp. Service was friendly both times. And the prices are hard to beat. I think we dropped 3 euros for two orders. Amazing.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite churros spot in Barcelon. Tiny place, but churros done the way they are supposed to be done. The prices are fair and the ladies working there are friendly. There are a few stools set up against the wall, if you're lucky you'll get a seat. If not, take it to go and enjoy as you walk.

Yelp
Amazing churros and very conveniently located on the Laietana. The chocolate con churros was indeed a winner. Freshly made, piping hot and crispy churros made right in front of you, served with a hot cup of rich dark chocolate. BEST BREAKFAST EVER. We stopped here twice and shared an order. Comes with 6 churros. I shared with my husband but kind of wish I didn't. It will only set you back 3.40. The porras, which are a long, thicker and swirly donut also looked good too. Lots of tourists stopping by so it's on the radar, but there were a good mix of locals also enjoying their churros and leche o chocolate. Friendly service and they usually have at least one English speaking staff.

Yelp
Chocolate con Churros is definitely a must try when you visit Spain so we had Churros in different place every morning during our stay. Churrería Laietana was our top 1 and only one we would like to be here again. The waiters were super friendly, served everything quickly and made their Churros fresh and warm. We ordered chocolate con Churros (€3.7) and Porras (€1.3) and we were surprised how delicious they were. The Churros came with 6 pieces in one order and were extremely crispy outside and soft inside and there were 3 ways to taste them: eat alone, with sugar or dipping in their dense and creamy chocolate. The Porras were also super good and soft inside, the texture was like beignet with a different shape.
