New outlet at basement of Chinatown Point. Many tables so capacity is big. Long walk fr counter to table. As usual, tables r full of crumbs n with stains. Ya Kun staff don't wipe tables regularly. Eggs r plump. Coffee here is good, not sourish. Air-conditioning is a little low so it can be warm if full house.

Disappointed with the Kaya Butter Toast – Lacking the Key Ingredient I’ve always enjoyed Ya Kun’s kaya butter toast for its rich, flavorful spread and perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. However, my recent visit was disappointing. The toast had barely any kaya on it — just a thin smear that was almost unnoticeable. The butter was there, but without the generous kaya layer that Ya Kun is known for, the toast felt dry and lacked the signature taste. It’s frustrating when expectations aren’t met, especially from a brand that’s usually so consistent. I hope this was just a one-off mistake and not a sign of cost-cutting. I’d love to see the quality return to the standard that made Ya Kun a favourite in the first place.

Yakun Kaya Toast is a popular spot for Singapore’s classic breakfast of kaya toast, soft-boiled eggs, and coffee. The toast is perfectly crispy with sweet, creamy kaya, and the coffee is rich and aromatic. However, the stall can get extremely noisy, especially during peak hours, making it hard to enjoy a relaxed meal. The constant chatter, clattering dishes, and bustling crowd might be overwhelming if you prefer a quieter dining experience. Despite the noise, the delicious food and efficient service keep customers coming back. If you can tolerate the lively atmosphere, it’s still a must-try for an authentic local breakfast.

Had a hearty breakfast at Ya Kun Kaya Toast in Chinatown Point, Singapore! The kaya toast was crispy and perfectly balanced with rich, fragrant kaya and a generous slice of butter. Soft-boiled eggs were runny and paired well with a dash of soy sauce and white pepper. The traditional kopi was strong, aromatic, and full of flavor—just the way I like it. The service was quick and friendly, even during peak hours. A great spot for a classic Singaporean breakfast experience in a convenient central location. Highly recommend for locals and tourists alike! #YaKunKayaToast #ChinatownPointSG #SingaporeEats #KopiTime #KayaToastLovers

My usual experience with Ya Kun Coffeeshop is a straightforward affair: join the queue, place your order, pay, and collect your coffee. If toast is ordered, it will be delivered to your table. However, my recent visit to the Ya Kun branch at Chinatown Point presented a distinctly different experience – one that left me slightly perplexed. Upon placing my order for coffee, I was handed a numbered ticket. This immediately struck me as unusual. At every other Ya Kun outlet I've frequented, the process is much more immediate. You hear your order being called out or see it placed on the counter shortly after payment. Here, however, the expectation was to wait. The staff directed me to keep an eye on a digital display board that would eventually flash my number. The wait was quite long, around 10 minutes for my order of 2 coffee.. I observed other customers similarly holding their tickets, their eyes occasionally darting towards the display. It created a slightly less efficient and more passive experience compared to the usual bustling energy of a Ya Kun outlet

The place was super noisy, but their coffee was good!

The soft-boiled eggs and kaya butter toast were delightful. The coffee met the standard Nanyang coffee expectations. The only letdown was that certain parts of the seating area felt warm despite the air conditioning. It's advisable to opt for seats under the fans for a more comfortable experience.

I haven’t tried the egg one but the toast is delicious, a little bit too sweet but maybe it’s to eat with the milk tea (which is not sweet). 1st piece tastes like heaven, second piece is still good but the third one and up you’ll start to feel like it’s too sweet lol. But still recommend tho.
