I want to preface this review by sharing that I specifically chose this place before arriving in Tulum because I was seeking a healing experience for my heart and soul. Everything on the website seemed aligned with what I needed. I recently lost my daughter after going into early labor—the most devastating day of my life. Shortly after, I discovered my husband had been unfaithful, and we divorced. This trip was meant to be a step toward healing.
After booking my treatment, I noticed that although prices are listed in USD on their website, they actually charge in pesos using their own fixed exchange rate of 19 pesos per dollar—resulting in a higher cost than what is advertised. This policy appears only in very small print right before you submit payment. This was disappointing, but after several messages, they agreed to refund the original charge and process it in USD as I had requested. I chose to move forward with my appointment believing this was simply a misunderstanding.
The healing massage and curative bath soak were truly exceptional. My therapist was incredible; it was the first time in a long time that I felt lighter and more like myself. I genuinely felt hopeful and was excited to continue with the water circuit.
Unfortunately, this is where my experience changed. A couple entered the area and began engaging in intimate physical contact—kissing, cuddling, and inappropriate touching—while also speaking loudly. This made it impossible to relax in what is meant to be a healing, tranquil space. I informed the staff multiple times, yet nothing was done. At one point, several staff members stood nearby watching and snickering, which made me feel even more uncomfortable. Eventually, I reached a point where I no longer felt safe or able to stay.
This is not a public beach or pool. It is marketed as a wellness sanctuary where guests come to heal, often from deeply personal experiences. Other similar facilities have clear rules, such as “physical displays of affection are strictly prohibited,” to protect the environment for all guests. When I mentioned this to what appeared to be a manager, I was told there was “no way” to stop this behavior. I disagree—just as rules about attire, running, or safety are enforced, guidelines around appropriate conduct can and should be enforced as well.
The staff did apologize and offered for me to return another day to redo the water circuit, but I was leaving the following morning so this wasn’t possible. No alternative solution was offered. In terms of the overcharge, I ultimately suggested refunding the difference so I could provide it as a tip to my amazing massage therapist.
I am deeply disappointed in the management’s response and the lack of action taken to maintain a safe, respectful healing environment. This facility has tremendous potential, and parts of my experience were truly beautiful. However, due to the pricing practices and the unwillingness to enforce basic etiquette standards, I cannot recommend this destination. Honesty, integrity, and guest well-being should be at the core of any healing sanctuary.
