Yalbury Cottage

It was incredible. The room was great, had a bath too. Breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. All fresh local ingredients. Service was faultless. Would recommend.

From the moment we stepped in to the minute we left, the experience was really special. The staff were incredibly friendly and exceptionally professional. The food was phenomenal though. Very well presented and just so tasty. On the final day of our holiday this was the icing on the cake. Five stars richly deserved.

The staff were incredibly nice, the garden was beautiful, it had great views, and the rooms were very clean. However, we heard every single footstep in the room above ours and it prevented us from sleeping. The walking was super loud! Also, the bed was very springy and not comfortable, which we could've dealt with if not the poor soundproofing between floors.

Absolutely five star. Beautiful garden, lovely furniture and decor, with happy attentive staff. There was wonderful local food presented with the utmost care and little unexpected ‘treats’ to nibble. This is one of the best, if not the best, meal I have ever had. I really can’t fault a thing. Good wine too.

What an absolutely wonderful stay I’ve had. Upon arrival I was warmly welcomed by Eve and she kindly arranged for me to have dinner in the restaurant even though I didn’t have a reservation. The meal was amazing and the service was first class. I was fortunate to have a lovely room which was extremely comfortable - especially the bed! Breakfast the next morning was just as fabulous as the dinner and I was sent off with a friendly goodbye. Nice touches of a good selection of tea and coffee and they kindly gave me a little flask of oat milk so I could have a coffee after dinner. This was an exceptional find and if visiting Dorchester again I will definitely be staying here. I have already recommended to friends!!

I've never met a more pretentious couple than Jamie and Ariane. We actually cancelled the remainder of our stay because of their attitude towards us. What once was a great establishment has been tarnished and I would steer clear.

Went here for a meal, and I must say it was wonderful!!! The food was delicious, the soufflé and duck just melted in my mouth. I don’t think I’ve had anything so good. The atmosphere of the restaurant was really cozy and nice, it’s small but I think that’s the charm of it. The service was also great, they were extremely nice and welcoming!! Thank you for such a great time!

sssh, don't tell anybody just how fantastic this place is, keep it to yourself! Tucked away in a lovely little hamlet, a few miles from Dorchester, this is a gem.
