Yaly Couture

In July 2025, our family commissioned a large tailoring order from Yaly Couture in Hoi An. We provided clear photo references, attended multiple fittings, and confirmed expectations both in person and via message. Despite spending 71,619,000 VND (approximately $2,738 USD or $4,237 AUD), many garments were delivered poorly made, unfinished, or entirely unwearable. At fittings, we were told materials such as stiff tulle or corset boning were not available or not possible to use. But when we insisted, these materials suddenly became available. We were also asked to pay extra for design features we had already agreed upon, including a $25 USD charge for basic tulle in a toddler’s dress. On the night before our departure, we received the final items. Some still had safety pins in place of closures. Others were stained, ill-fitting, or structurally flawed. We had no choice but to take them as they were. We are now left needing to: • Replace our daughter’s prom gown, which is unusable • Buy new wedding outfits for myself and our toddler • Replace our son’s tuxedo shirt due to uneven pleats • Discard my navy top, which has crooked, visible stitching • Abandon an expensive black cocktail dress with painful seams and no way to hang it While two pairs of men’s trousers and one child’s suit were acceptable, most pieces represent both a financial and emotional loss. Summary of key items: • White tuxedo shirt – $41 USD Uneven pleats made it unusable • Prom gown – $245 USD Oversized corset, exposed boning, off-centre busk. Three tailors said it must be remade from scratch, not salvageable. • Toddler dress – $85 USD Crooked waistband, rough overlocked tulle, short lining, and unfinished cuffs. Unwearable • Toddler cape – $95 USD Stained. Not pure wool. Closure left attached by a safety pin • Black cocktail dress – $215 USD Raw seams, unfinished zipper, unwearable mesh panel • Blue dress – $265 USD So tight I cannot sit or breathe. Fabric sold as silk appears to be synthetic. Stains were never removed • Blue cape – $265 USD Puckered seams at side of shoulder, armholes low like a T-rex, wrong closure, and fabric misrepresented as wool • Navy top and pants – $315 USD Top features visible, uneven stitching I was told would be corrected. It was not. It is also far too tight to wear • Other acceptable items: Grey pants – $185 USD Men’s trousers (2) – $258 USD Child’s pinstripe suit – $466 USD Blue tuxedo suit – $309 USD (although the included shirt had flaws) Yaly Couture’s quality, honesty, and service did not meet expectations, especially at this price point. Please look carefully at the photos and consider our experience before booking. There are many skilled tailors in Hoi An. We regret not choosing a different one. I went to get a custom tailered suit. The result, a suit that fits perfectly. The services was realy great I was helped by Ruby. She did an amazing job helping me choosing the right suit. After a first fitting I knew I made the right choise coming to this place. When the suit was finished I picked it up and I am know enjoying my custom made suit.

Avoid them. They don't understand the difference between a tuxedo and a blazer. It's shocking given how long they have been in business. Their sales staff have very poor customer service, they don't know how to deal with complaints. Their approach to complaints is to hang up the phone. They shipped a tuxedo in a box the size of a pizza box. A tuxedo that can fit in a box that size lacks heft, quality and has the build of a floppy T-shirt. The staff refused to listen to the feedback/complaint. Instead they were defending themselves, blaming Fedex and pointing ou the fact that I had requested for revisions. If you are looking for a throw away suit, that is poorly made, go to them. But they a charge a premium, so you are better off looking for alternative options. Avoid them.

Went to get a customed tailored suit. I was helped out brilliantly by Clara, who helped me decide on a suit that was fitted to my taste and budget. She also ensured that it fitted me perfectly and made the right adjustments when I came back to double check the following day. I am very happy with my suit.

Extremely happy with the suit I got tailored. The choice of material is recently extensive, with a good price range depending on material quality. Service was good, though I noticed that you have to be quite firm with them and know what you want. Previois experience with tailoring will help. Which is very normal. However, if you are firm you will get exactly what you want. Expect to be fitted 2 to 3 times over 2-3 days. They will deliver to your hotel.

The loveliest and most helpful staff. They made sure we got exactly what we wanted and didn’t lead us astray. We got a dress, two tops and trousers and all were of high quality fabric and very well made.

Yaly Couture was exceptional! My hotel and also locals told me that Yaly is the most famous tailor shop in Hoi An (I’m surprised the number of reviews aren’t higher for the best tailor shop). I was told it’s because of their high quality material and their tailors are in house, compared to most other tailor shops which outsource to other tailors. Yaly certainly feels different than other tailors and the quality of their work shows it. I tried two different tailor shops and Yaly by far was my favorite and the most happy with. I only had a little over 30 hrs in Hoi An and Cindy was so helpful and did everything she could to help me finish my dress with high quality. She spoke with a lot of expertise and had great recommendations for how to tailor my dress so it best fits me. She was proactive in fixing areas which I didn’t event mention. The level of details to attention you get here is quite different to other tailors. They even delivered the dress to my hotel once they finished. The price also was very reasonable for the quality of the fabric and craftsmanship. I paid $190 for a silk gown! I highly recommend if you are looking for a high quality trusted tailor!

This place is great it really works. We were measured for 5 suits in all on one day. The next was first fitting day and the next was second fitting and snagging. Arrived at 21.00 at hotel. All fits well no complaints. You need to know what you want and how you want it to look they tend to be tighter and jackets shorter than classic english styling but they will accommodate what you want. The shoes are also excellent. Again you need to know what you want them to do. 6 stars. Thank you Mary and team.
