Yamagata Kokusai Hotel

Its glory days have past and the rooms and decor feel a little dated. The staff were lovely and the hotel is in the middle of Yamagata city. Has basement parking so we used it as a hub to explore the Yamagata prefecture.

Rooms are clean and relatively larger when compared to those in Tokyo. A little bit old fashioned but everything works perfectly. The buffet in the morning is just fantastic, adding much value to the hotel! One downside is that it’s a little bit far from the station, about 10 minutes walk.

Decent space compared to a typical biz hotel. Location is fine. The hotel itself is quite old. Clean, but old.

Walking distance from JR station, excellent breakfast, clean and comfortable and large room. warm room during winter time, helpful and nice staff, hotel just next to bus terminal to other prefectures, e.g. Sendai.

…with very good breakfasts served too. Our room was large and comfortable though the minuscule bathroom was a bit of a squeeze. Our room also had far too much unnecessary furniture which we had to move around to create space for the our cases and pram, as well as the crib they kindly provided. Other than those things, we enjoyed our stay. It has an excellent location, very close to the station and the world’s best pizza at Logic round the corner, and easy-to-use washing and drying facilities too, always better to have than the charges hotels often levy for the same thing.

We stayed at this hotel as the first stop on a short first visit to Tohoku. It is attractive and modern, and staff were attentive. Rooms were comfortable. It is perhaps five to six minutes walk from the JR station. We were the only non-Japanese there at the time and I needed help from our Japanese friend to arrange laundry - easily fixed. The main restaurant offered nice breakfasts, Japanese and western, however there were also a number of small eating places and bars within 10 minutes walk from the hotel. We will definitely stay there again.

Great value. Given the low room price I wasn't expecting much but ended up with a relatively spacious room with a great view of the city. It was clean and modern and the bed was comfortable． Really what more could you ask for in a business hotel? Highly recommend it for a simple accommodation.
