On the Grid : Yamamori Sushi

"Yamamori on Ormond Quay is home to some of Dublin's best Sushi and Japanese style dining. Housed in beautifully renovated Georgian townhouse, Yamamori is just a couple minutes walk from the Red luas line. They have some great value lunch options on offer and rotate the specials daily." - Kooba

I rarely give 5 stars and this place deserves it. The food was impeccable. The cocktails were amazing. The atmosphere is on point and the staff is incredibly kind. Highly recommend. This was the best meal I ate in Dublin all week.

We visited the Yamamori branch near Grafton Street and had a great experience. The staff were incredibly polite and kind, and the atmosphere had a cozy, authentic Japanese restaurant vibe. Initially, we wanted to order a sushi platter but realized it wasn't listed on the lunch menu. However, when we asked, the staff kindly brought us a separate menu with a variety of sushi platters to choose from. I ordered the lychee drink, which was absolutely delicious, refreshing with a slightly sour note that I personally loved. I’ll definitely be ordering it again. For dessert, we shared a mochi ice cream set with four flavors of our choice, paired with a matcha latte tea. A perfect ending to the meal. The bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, which is always a plus. In total, we had a sushi platter, two drinks, dessert, mochi ice cream, and matcha tea—all for €85. While the sushi platter was a bit pricier than other places, it still felt reasonable given the quality and service.

The food and drinks were great, amazing vegetarian options. Our server Pablo was amazing, very kind and knowledgeable about the menu. Was able to assist us in making best choice. 10/10 would give Pablo a raise! 💯

Had a good time eating here. My biggest issues really are with the service and the size of the rolls. In regards to the service - I had to wave down the waitress multiple times to order my food, drinks, etc. She never stopped once to ask if I needed anything. As for the rolls - they were good, but the rice was way too sticky and the rolls a bit too large. Sushi should be easier to eat. These were too massive.

Have been coming here for many years. The food was amazing as usual. Love their sushi platters and their Bento box lunch special was excellent.

Today was my first time at Yamamori, and I’m speechless! The atmosphere is amazing, the food is excellent, and the service is exceptional. I’ll definitely be back because I wanted to try more, but I was already full. The drinks are delicious, and the food is perfect, made with incredibly fresh ingredients. It’s easily one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Dublin. I would also like to highlight the outstanding service from Sumaya, who was very attentive, explained everything in detail, and was incredibly friendly. The restaurant’s manager was also very welcoming and hospitable!

The sushi's quality was nice, but a bit overpriced. The "Big platter" is not big at all and the soy sauce at the table was saltier than usual. The tempura was nice as well as the chicken skewers, but it was 15€ for 3 tiny ones and that is just too much. I went for a date and found a cute atmosphere and a friendly staff. They did their job well without pushing too much for us to get cocktails. My partner and I also tried the Mochi ice cream and it was alright, but not as good as the one in The Ramen Bar. Overall it's a nice spot and in a central area and I just wish it was less expensive or at least less crowded. Usually pricier places give you more space for your table and it was not the case here. Sorry for the salty review, I don't feel great being mean, but for what I paid I think I have the right to be honest
