"Yamamori on Ormond Quay is home to some of Dublin's best Sushi and Japanese style dining. Housed in beautifully renovated Georgian townhouse, Yamamori is just a couple minutes walk from the Red luas line. They have some great value lunch options on offer and rotate the specials daily." - Kooba

Google
I rarely give 5 stars and this place deserves it. The food was impeccable. The cocktails were amazing. The atmosphere is on point and the staff is incredibly kind. Highly recommend. This was the best meal I ate in Dublin all week.

We visited the Yamamori branch near Grafton Street and had a great experience. The staff were incredibly polite and kind, and the atmosphere had a cozy, authentic Japanese restaurant vibe. Initially, we wanted to order a sushi platter but realized it wasn't listed on the lunch menu. However, when we asked, the staff kindly brought us a separate menu with a variety of sushi platters to choose from. I ordered the lychee drink, which was absolutely delicious, refreshing with a slightly sour note that I personally loved. I’ll definitely be ordering it again. For dessert, we shared a mochi ice cream set with four flavors of our choice, paired with a matcha latte tea. A perfect ending to the meal. The bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, which is always a plus. In total, we had a sushi platter, two drinks, dessert, mochi ice cream, and matcha tea—all for €85. While the sushi platter was a bit pricier than other places, it still felt reasonable given the quality and service.

The food and drinks were great, amazing vegetarian options. Our server Pablo was amazing, very kind and knowledgeable about the menu. Was able to assist us in making best choice. 10/10 would give Pablo a raise! 💯

Google
Had a good time eating here. My biggest issues really are with the service and the size of the rolls. In regards to the service - I had to wave down the waitress multiple times to order my food, drinks, etc. She never stopped once to ask if I needed anything. As for the rolls - they were good, but the rice was way too sticky and the rolls a bit too large. Sushi should be easier to eat. These were too massive.

Google
Have been coming here for many years. The food was amazing as usual. Love their sushi platters and their Bento box lunch special was excellent.

Google
Great experience from start to finish. The vibes were great, cocktails were delicious, and the staff were incredibly attentive. The food was very tasty and we felt really well looked after the whole time. A thoroughly positive experience.

Google
Today was my first time at Yamamori, and I’m speechless! The atmosphere is amazing, the food is excellent, and the service is exceptional. I’ll definitely be back because I wanted to try more, but I was already full. The drinks are delicious, and the food is perfect, made with incredibly fresh ingredients. It’s easily one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Dublin. I would also like to highlight the outstanding service from Sumaya, who was very attentive, explained everything in detail, and was incredibly friendly. The restaurant’s manager was also very welcoming and hospitable!

Google
The sushi's quality was nice, but a bit overpriced. The "Big platter" is not big at all and the soy sauce at the table was saltier than usual. The tempura was nice as well as the chicken skewers, but it was 15€ for 3 tiny ones and that is just too much. I went for a date and found a cute atmosphere and a friendly staff. They did their job well without pushing too much for us to get cocktails. My partner and I also tried the Mochi ice cream and it was alright, but not as good as the one in The Ramen Bar. Overall it's a nice spot and in a central area and I just wish it was less expensive or at least less crowded. Usually pricier places give you more space for your table and it was not the case here. Sorry for the salty review, I don't feel great being mean, but for what I paid I think I have the right to be honest

Yelp
Got in easy at 6pm with 5 people. The pork gyoza was the best. Perfect dumpling texture and flavor. The edamame was standard but very good. The chicken miso ramen was really good and the noodles had a great texture.

Yelp
We were looking for dinner after the FSU game and were lucky enough to be the last customers of the night. It was probably the best sushi we've had in a long time. The restaurant itself looked like your typical Japanese restaurant with dim lightening and a number of oriental pieces on the wall. We would definitely go back again!

Yelp
delicious! amazing service. it was my first sit down meal on the trip, so I might be biased. we went maybe an hour or so before closing too and got the same attention and Quality of food you would expect at peak rush hour.

Yelp
Very good food. Super pricey but well worth it. We didn't understand when ordering, but when we got the food...OMG! It was so good! We ordered: - 2 mos soups - Lychee Spritz - lychee and prosecco topped with soda and orange bitters - atomic mojito - just like the usual mojito; only stronger! - Dragon Roll (with black rice) - breaded king prawn filled norimaki wrapped with a layer avocado with a drop of wasabi mayo and a sprinkle of masago - Cray Fish and avocado with black rice For dessert: - Craic (pronounced "Crack") Pudding - silkily vanilla ice cream on a pool of miso caramel and topped with sweet potato crisps - Nikka gold and Gold whisky- smooth and warm with a medium finish. Probably the best Sushi I've had in Dublin. If you got the scratch to spend, definitely come through! Also, the hours reflected on Yelp don't seem to be right. We were there well after 10pm.

Yelp
There are 3 distinct locations VERY close to each other in Dublin, and apparently, each of them have their own style of food. I visited the South City location listed on this business page (71/72 South George). I showed up on a Saturday night at 8:15 and the place was packed with no seating available. I had to make reservations for 9pm and come back later - not their fault, but lesson learned. This part of the city is hopping on the weekends. The Tiger Prawn Curry was a disappointment. It had a good flavor, but for €22.95, it was severely lacking a decent quantity of prawns and mushrooms. There were literally four small sized prawns and only three mushrooms (yes, I counted). It was WAY overpriced for what we got. Miso soup was added to this entree and was €3.45 - I don't understand how they can charge that much for a standard miso soup. There was absolutely nothing special about it. It should have been priced closer to €1.00 I ordered the Tofu Steak, consisting of marinated crispy fried tofu with mango and roasted sesame seed sauce. It included stir-fried veggies, zakkoku rice, and vegetarian miso soup for €19.45. There was plenty of tofu and it was cooked crispy as advertised - very good! The mango sauce it was bathed in tasted good as well. I asked for hot chili sauce on the side to spice it up a bit. The broccoli included in my entree was cold, and so was the side of rice. The restaurant was very crowded and very loud between 9pm and 10:30pm. I passed by this place several times on my visit, before going in, and I think I should have kept passing by. The food wasn't anything to brag about, and the price point certainly wasn't worth it.

Phillip S.

Yelp
I would have rated the restaurant five stars but it is pricey. However the portions are big and filling. The soft shell crab salad was with it in my opinion since it had 3-4 soft shell crabs and it was fried lightly which was amazing. The roll was huge so we had to box it up. Overall it's not a bad place but like I mentioned, the price is high.

Yelp
A fun spot in downtown Dublin! Definitely make a reservation because it was super busy... I made ours about two weeks in advance and that was plenty of time. We started with two items from the Japas (Japanese tapas) menu: the Japanese fried chicken which was yummy and the pumpkin gyoza which were also yummy. I ordered the tofu ramen which was delicious and others ordered more gyoza and a tuna roll. Its a great place for groups because there are plenty of options for everyone. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Definitely go if you're in Dublin.

Yelp
Best Japanese food I've had in Dublin so far. A tad pricey, but I got the bento on a Friday night and it was a really solid amount of food, and quite tasty. The fish part of it wasn't as good as the pork, though.

Yelp
Yamamori noodles is a great place to stop in if you're cold from the winter weather of Dublin. Upon arrival we were given a nice hot cup of tea. I was not pleased when I was told that if we wanted more tea it would cost 2.5 euro for a small pot or 3.5 euro for a large pot of tea. I'm just so accustomed to having complimentary hot tea at Asian restaurants especially in Japanese and Chinese restaurants. When in doubt, I always order the signature dish. So today I chose Yamamori ramen. It was definitely a good choice because it was loaded with meat and seafood and tofu. The broth was delicious though a little bland. If you want it more spicy be sure to ask for some chili oil and it will definitely add a little zing to a somewhat bland soup. Worth going back on a cold day. #20 / 100 Challenge 2017

Yelp
The bathroom at Yamamori is a tale of two halves. While there are many positive aspects to it, there are many extremely off-putting factors that I hope to avoid in most bathroom scenarios. For instance, upon entering the stall, I was disappointed to see uncleaned skid marks that were clearly visible in the bowl. However I can get over this as the perpetrator may have just been in the stall before me, so I will forgive the establishment. Besides, when I was seated I was floored by the in-stall entertainment. Almost everything I look for in a bathroom stall to kill the boredom was present here. First and foremost was the nice decor of the stall with the beautiful tiling patterns, always a good source of inspiration. Also, if there's one thing I love in a bathroom stall, it's ads on the door for some light reading. Once finished using the can, things began to take a massive nosedive. I was met with a previously unnoticed nemesis of mine. There is a certain kind of toilet paper dispenser that really fries my frog. I do not know it's proper name but we shall call him Gino. I have added a picture of Gino but those of you who are prone to fainting may want to look away. Another disappointment was the sink. I must admit that I'm not a fan of manual taps in a public bathroom, and they were present on this particular day. On top of this, the tap was installed in too close proximity to the basin, forcing me to punch it accidentally when moving my hands. To top this emotional rollercoaster restroom off, there was a hand drier (generally the make-or-break for each bathroom experience) which I normally have great respect for. On this occasion there appeared a timer on the hand drier that, upon activation, started a count down from ten. Once the timer had ended, the dryness of my hands were not up to my standards. I left the bathroom confused. I hope to return to Yamamori in the near future. I will use another bathroom before arrival next time

Yelp
We popped into Yamamori looking for some tasty food (and especially a healthy one at that after a week of beer and burgers) and with a giant hunger it being lunch time and all! It was packed but lucky us managed to get a table for 7 - nice work for fitting an extra chair on the end of our booth. First off I was impressed to see a range of Hitachino nest beers on arrival. Their Red and White Ale's were on offer - both super amazing! Personally I went for the seafood ramen which was a giant portion but so so tasty - loads of noodles, loads of seafood, you could just feel the healthiness of it - just what we were after. We also got a large portion of sushi to share on the table - really good and pretty much finished me off (belly..about..to..pop) The lady serving us was super friendly and a nice little bonus was that when we checked in to Yelp we all got a free glass of sake - the perfect lunch time drink...maybe... Looking forward to going back next time I'm in town!

Yelp
I had a very enjoyable meal with a friend here on New Year's Eve. We had no idea what was open, but my friend navigated the streets and lead us right to Yamamori. We showed up without a reservation - and the place was hopping! - but were seated within about 5 minutes. The host was very polite and efficient, and was in great spirits despite how busy the place was. I ordered the bento box, probably because it was on a sign right in front of me, and my friend ordered the ramen. I was surprised at how big the bento was! And very good. I was able to eat about 75% of it before throwing in the towel. The attached picture will show exactly how much food comes in this thing. Order it only if you have a huge appetite. My friend seemed to enjoy her ramen. I secretly wished that I had gotten that also - but alas, tough choices needed to be made before 2015. On my next trip to Dublin I'll give it a try. Service was great. So great that I barely noticed them coming and going with our orders or our food. And the food came out really fast. Check out Yamamori if you are in the mood for a little asian fusion - they seem to offer it all.

Yelp
I much prefer the interior and set up of the Yamamori Sushi on the quays (so much brighter and more spacious!) , but menu is pretty much the same. We opted here before heading off to the Gaiety nearby, and as my friend is vegan this is a good choice as they do quite a few vegan dishes. I went for my standard choice of Ramen (Yamamori ramen with chicken, pork, tofu and prawns) - never fails to satisfy. It always annoys me though that at lunch time the exact same dish is about 8 euro cheaper. Also they never do any early bird. For dinner this place can get quite expensive if you go for a few courses. Their mocktails at 3.50 are very good value though!

Yelp
I'm a newbie to this kind of food so won't proclaim to know what I'm talking about! I'll just tell you what I liked and didn't like :-) First off, the restaurant was so much nicer inside than the exterior would have you think. I expected a really casual interior but it was classy and pared back. Hadnt a clue what I was going to be presented food wise so just had a guess at what to go for... for starters we had the Spicy Kimchee Tuna from the Norimaki menu and the Ebi Tempura, King Prawn coated in a light crispy batter - from the sides menu. Both were fab and the portion size of the sushi was gigantic (I did still scoff it all though!) For mains I went for the Tofu Ramen, having heard so much about Ramen. Any times I've eaten tofu I havent enjoyed it and I thought I'd give it one last shot... it will definitely be my last! Did not enjoy the tofu at all, but that's nothing to do with the cooking of the dish, just my personal preference. Once I'd pushed the tofu aside the rest of the meal was lovely. My dining partner went for the Chicken Katsu Curry... while it doesn't look like too much in the picture it was delicious. I'd defo give Yamamori another shot to try out something more adventurous next time!

Yelp
Yamamori makes it really easy to order if you're vegetarian or vegan, as they mark all vegetarian options with a V and are very accommodating if you ask them to make your meal vegan. I really enjoyed their tofu steak... and the black rice is delicious. The restaurant also has a great atmosphere. I'd recommend making a reservation as it seems to get busy.

Yelp
I've been looking forward to trying this place for a while and so I decided to grab lunch here. €13 nets you a seafood bento box with some miso soup. Green tea given at the start for free which is always welcome although it tasted more like just boiled water with hints of green tea than anything else. It's free so I can't complain. The bento box that came out was massive and then they also served it with a helping of (purple?) rice. There was fish in tempura, a crayfish salad, sushi rolls and some veg. The best part was the salad by far, it tasted fresh and it was great to eat a salad with some seaweed, a new experience for me that I liked. I found the sushi rolls very dry and packed with far too much rice. In fact my biggest complaint about the bento box is that it seems to be padded out with carb rich food such as rice or batter on the fish rather more creative and healthier options. As a lunchtime meal, it was far too filling (in a bloated sense) and you don't exactly feel great after it all. The staff were friendly and attentive, the service was fast and I was a very big fan of the decor of the place, especially the old timey Japanese film being played on a projector on a wall. This place would probably fare better if going for drinks with some friends but it's just above average when it comes to lunch.
google avatar

Kate M.

Yelp
Yamamori is a Japanese noodle house located on Georges St, Dunlin with a second location down on the quays. The one along the quays is meant to be a lot bigger than the original, and I hear it is really well suited to large groups. Saying that, the George's St venue is still a fine size, with big wooden benches to sit at in a cool restaurant. It has been here since 1995, serving 'authentic Japanese cuisine' and the food is really good. They have everything from sushi and sashimi to wok noodles, ramen noodles and tepan grill dishes. I'm a fan of their yaki soba - very adventurous, I know. I'm more of a 'stick to what you know kind of girl.' I won't be moving onto the raw fish just yet!
google avatar

Yelp
Well, between this place and Wagamama, I learned that asian food basically sucks in Dublin. Maybe I ordered the wrong things, but both of these restaurants were sub-par. Yamamori was the worse of the two. I ordered a shrimp tempura appetizer. Shrimp tempura is awesome, and pretty tough to fuck up. Well, Yamamori did it. The breading was soggy and the shrimp was bland. Not horrible, but disappointing. My ramen entree was event worse... the pork and fish cakes were meh and the soup itself was flavorless. The only positives I can really say about it are that the noodles weren't terrible and the egg was good. The meal was slightly redeemed with dessert, which was a ginger cake of some kind with whipped cream. I can't recommend this place, at least not the ramen. Overpriced and bland.
google avatar

Kirsten B.

Yelp
I had shrimp tempura to start. It was perfectly light and crunchy. The sauce that came with it was so tasty! My Yasai Yaki Soba for my main was delicious. It was very obvious that the ingredients were fresh. The staff were fantastic - really deserve a pat on the back!

Yelp
It was raining in Dublin (well, of course) and we had just got back from a day tour. My friend brought me here because I voted for something warm and soupy... Then again once we got the miso soup I was good. Food was just okay. They have set menus, which me and my friend got and shared... for that night it was shrimp gyoza (pretty good, but remember to ask for a different sauce if you are not fond of spicy stuff) and some steak. We added some negima yakitori and this was pretty awesome, loved it. Banofi pie was great too, so now I'm going up to 3.5 stars lol. Sadly they don't have a full liquor license, so you can't really get any other drink except for the ones on their menu, and they didn't even have any champagne that night so no bellinis. The plum wine sake martini was definitely interesting though. Service was great, everyone was very attentive and helpful, hence the 4 stars.

Yelp
One of my favorites restaurants in Dublin--- the first I fell in love with, for sure. Amazing japanese dishes at very good prince. Really, this is fine dining on a budget! After your dish of choice (you can't go wrong with the Bento Box) go for the sweet treat. They are expensive (too much, maybe to compensate) but the Banoffee Pie is out of this world. Good service, good food, good location... Brilliant.

Yelp
I love this place ohhhh TOOO much. Defo the best quality of sushi around in my opinion. I only ever get vegi sushi so to impress me this much is defo an achievement. Also huge statement but I think the shojin salad that they do, is my favourite salad of all time. Like I can't go in ther and not get it, it's so annoying cause I'll never try something new. Been loads and I will defo b bak. Also ther NYCheese cake is yum too, but I have my doubts on whether they make it ther or not. Feel bad if they do but it's almost too perfect. Still yum tho so I ain't complaining. Oooo and lastly they so ECO water for €1 for sparkling or still which is all the water you want. I'm sucha ECO water fan. Laterzzzzzzz
google avatar

Lara C.

Yelp
This used to be the best sushi in town. My brother and I went today however and the quality was appalling: we mostly had rice as the fish was hard to find in all our dishes. A shame really! Hope the go back to what they used to offer.
google avatar

Janine O.

Yelp
Third time is the charm. Been here three times and had to come on our last day in Ireland. We fell in love with this place, amazing food, great service and atmosphere. The Veggie Ramen is bliss in a bowl. Totally addicted to it. We also tried the Tofu Steak, Tofu Teriyaki with roast veggies, agedashi tofu, Yasai Yakisoba, all tasted amazing! We went for the virgin cocktails which tasted so good we didn't miss the alcohol.
google avatar

Lena H.

Yelp
I came here for lunch and ordered their Tonkasu ramen. I have tried tonkasu ramen in probably more than dozens of Japanese restaurants because it is my favorite and this restaurant for sure offers below average ramens. First off, the broth is not "creamy" as it says on the menu; and the noodle is too soft and a bit mushy. The cha-shu has no flavor. Broth got some flavor but by no means a slow-cooked-for-long-hours tonkasu creamy broth. Two stars for their ramen only. Didn't try other stuff. If you are a fan of tonkasu ramen, you will be disappointed.

Yelp
I love Yamamori and have been coming here for years. The tofu steak with mango sauce is absolutely amazing, even though it's not as good as it once was, I still love it! Staff are very friendly, service is good, the food is absolutely gorgeous and the ambiance of the place is fab. A little on the pricey side but it is a great dining experience. Check out their Facebook page for competitions to win vouchers from time to time, a great incentive!

Yelp
This restaurant is amazing. I just finished my meal and decided I need to leave a review because it was that good. I had the Kaiden Udon. The drinks were also delicious and refreshing, and they have many specialty cocktails. Love the ambiance as well.

Yelp
Yamamori has been a regular stop for me since I attended TCD a decade ago - their 5 euro lunch specials drew us in and we've never stopped going back. I'm not a huge sushi person, but several of my friends are, and they are usually satisfied, but not blown away. My usual order of Spicy Tuna Roll backs that up - I have had better but I have had a lot worse and a lot more often. The noodle and rice dishes are another story - although the quality can vary sometimes, they are generally very good and occasionally excellent. Over the years there are a few dishes I have come back to repeatedly as a main course: Yaki Soba - various versions, including specials - all yummy - try one of these first Beef Chili Ramen - a higher quality meat version of Pho - great for a hangover, and nice and spicy Cha Han - tasty savoury fried rice dish, one of my favorites Chicken Katsu Curry - Japanese style curry and breaded chicken - enough said Katsu Don - breaded pork, egg and rice - a staple in most Japanese restaurants, and good in Yamamori Sadly they no longer have my favourite dessert - the Turtle Cheesecake, except as a special occasionally so I am often disappointed by omission - the other options are generally good though, just not satisfying that craving :) On the coffee front, the quality is above average - not on par with a good cafe, but decent for a restaurant. Overall: good food, good service, Kirin beer and complimentary green tea all make for an enjoyable spot to meet up with friends and have a reasonably priced meal with lots of options, it will continue to be one of our regular haunts going forward.

Yelp
I came here last night with a group of hungry Spaniards. The Spanish eat really late so we had trouble finding somewhere that wasn't already closed. There were 10 of us but the tables are long so we all fit perfectly. The waitress warned us that if we wanted to order from the grill menu, we had to do so quickly, otherwise there was no rush. The waiting staff are really good at their jobs. They had a great system when taking orders because, when your dish came out, they knew exactly who ordered what. The chefs are obviously really good at their jobs too as the food was healthy and delicious, which made a welcome change for the Spaniards as they'd been gorging on burgers and pub grub for the past week. I'd already had my dinner but I simply had to try something so I had the ginger crab salad with seaweed. Yum. At the end of the meal, the waitress allowed us all to pay separately. We were never made feel that we were an inconvenience, which is the tactic all restaurants should employ. I'm dying to come back here when I'm properly hungry.

Yelp
I am a huge fan of Japanese food. Well a huge fan that doesn't always drag myself to Japanese restaurants in Dublin. So I was only to delighted when going for dinner the other night my friend suggested Yamamori. Having not visited this joint before I hungrily made my way there with taste buds longing for all things Japanese. I really enjoyed it there. We both only had main courses with naturally way too much wine. My dish was noodles with chicken, pork and prawns. A bit of a mix I know but my taste buds really were on over drive. The prawns were amazing which I was glad of as a couple of months ago when I was playing Jamie Oliver at home I made a sad excuse of a prawn dish that turned out to be an epic disaster resulting in a complete turn off to prawns. Prices there are reasonable and I would definitely be returning.

Yelp
We came here with a small group to celebrate the end of a project, and, as a sushi fan from way back, I'm cautiously optimistic that I've found a good place to satisfy the craving for unagi etc. The menu is pretty expansive with good sushi AND sashimi choices, bentos and ramen bowls, and more western options. Portions were quite generous as well, so the €10-€20 per main felt like a fair price. I had the Japanese Grill w/Salmon, and the fish was excellent. So why only three stars? The service was lousy. Polite, and nice, but lousy. We were a group of 8, so not a giant crowd by any means, but the each dish seemed to come out at random intervals. One of my companions had his ramen bowl delivered after most of us were halfway done, AND it was the wrong thing, so he had to reorder and wait even longer. The atmosphere was good, and there were many seating options. Our corner both was comfy and intimate without being too out of the way. Bottom line: if you've got time to kill, order away and see what comes out first. Share.

Yelp
Went here yesterday for dessert, cos I was craving that Mango Pudding I had a couple of weeks back in Yamamori Sushi. It was the same fruity and fragrant dish with a coconut wafer and fresh pieces of mango in the glass, but I was a bit surprised that their serving glass was smaller than the one I had in their other branch. For the same price of €6.95 it was a bit disappointing. Service was quick and good. Place had an odd vibe for a Sunday evening, half empty, soul music on the sound system, just a tiny bit depressing, but that was probably more me than the place.

Yelp
This was my first time to go to this spot. I met an old work colleague for lunch. I opted for the lunch box special, I have a hard time dealing with the term lunchbox special. Blame it on my youth and dirty mind but lunchbox was an expression for the male's nether regions. I ordered my penis special which was salad, cranberry infused rice and something that I am not even going to try to pronounce or bastardize further with poor spelling. It was basically sweet sticky rice in-cased in some cold damp pastry thing. Doesn't that sound appetising?! It was actually, the pastry that is. The salad was boring and the rice was not infused with anything other than water. I mean it was decent but a tad too much rice for my diet. My friends lunch looked nicer, he ordered off the regular menu. It was packed. Service was great. I will give it another try.

Yelp
I stopped in for lunch on a busy Sunday afternoon. I was dining alone, so I was able to he seated immediately. I'm a vegetarian and was able to locate several meatless options. I ended up ordering the vegetable yakisoba. It was absolutely delicious, and a generous size. The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star review is that I needed to hunt down my server to get my bill. I didn't see them for 15-20 minutes after finishing my meal, and I ended up waving down a different server to be able to pay. The restaurant was busy, so I understand. But that's the only thing that was less than superb!

Yelp
We wanted to eat dinner before the pub crawl and stumbled upon this place. Worst meal I've had in Ireland! It was obviously over priced too. I ordered a beef dish and it came out way too salty. Go next door to Charlie's for a much cheaper better Asian food.

Yelp
I had been here a few times over the last few years - well, probably about 5 years ago... and wasn't exactly bowled over... hence the 5 year gap in visits. But as happens, we had a work do here a few days ago and I have but one word for you.. WOW!!!! We had a huge selection of dishes - mostly sushi and it was nothing less than fantastic, the sashimi was fresh and sweet, the futomaki (probably spelt wrong) was excellent. There were 6 of us in all, we all ate our fill, had a few beers and the bill at the end was just under 200Euro - which is pretty good. The staff, as you would expect from such an established diner - were fast, friendly and efficient. Oh, ond the Pork Ribs were well worth a shot! Overall, fantastic, we'll be back!

Yelp
While not the cheapest noodle restaurant in Dublin, it's certianly the most reliably satisfying. For lunch their bento box is a steal at 10 Euro. But instead I opted for their seafood ramen, and it was a delight. Most importantly, there were generous portions of seafood, which included squid, salmon, prawns, shrimp, and tuna... all on top of soba noodles, mushrooms, and seaweed. A lot of ramen dishes tend to have a slightly tasteless broth, generally needing a splash of soy sauce to be enjoyed. But this particular dish had a well-seasoned, rich flavour that trumps half of the city's attempts at chowder. Baked cheesecake for dessert was dense but soft, and topped off a filling meal. Staff are always friendly and generally attentive. Only a tiny criticism, but what's with the garish pseudo-Cubist paintings decorating the place?

Yelp
If you want to have any appetite left for your wok-fried noodles, don't order a bowl of Eda-mame (salted and steamed soy-beans) as a pre-dinner snack. But, if you want to munch on a highly-addictive, crispy treat, that in my view should be offered as a beer-snack in every pub in Dublin, order a couple of bowls to accommodate your Japanese beer, and bring your noodles home in a doggy-bag. Yumyum, gimme more, gimme mooooore! I'm not only a fan of the salty beans on Yamamori's menu. The tuna-avocado salad is fresh and delicious, as are the seafood noodles, the grilled aubergine and the chicken ramen, my favourites on the menue. Well, I could go on and on so I'll just say that I've never been disappointed with a dish here and the portions are big. So nothing to complain about, really. I really like the atmosphere here too, especially for birthday dinners, as the chaos is perfect for a group celebration. Also, if it's someone's birthday, the waiters turn off the lights, bring in a cake and make the whole place sing the b-day song for the red-faced man/woman-of-the-day. Great fun!

Yelp
Not impressed at all. Needless to mention that I am their regular customer for 12 years. Used to visit at least 4 times a week, used as a get'together spot with my girlfriends and any business meetings. Tonight I was feeling really tired and decided to pick up Yamamori Noodles food (George's street) Made a phone call at 20:36 Asked for a take away, ordered -Ebi tempura Norimaki (no tails, no masago) -Tatsuta age/white rice and veg and salad separate -Sunamono salad -1 pt (2pcs) GUNKAN with fish eggs (capelin roe) - 1 Pt (2 pcs) Ebi Nigiri -1 pt (2 pcs) salmon nigiri - Ebi tempura... When I got to the Gunkan; the person taking the order kept over-speaking me and asked is it sushi, I told him it is GUNKAN.... since Gunkan has a shape like toilet roll rather than like Nigiri, which is flat bed with anything you imagine on top. The person kept questioning asked do I mean TOFU on top? I told clearly..... No, it's looking very similar shape to Norimaki that's positioned up, bottom is rice, and the top has FISH EGGS, and it's rolled in a seaweed... He noted it down, I drove up, collected it, came home..... OMG!!! I had no black mini toilet paper roll looking shape with fish eggs in my food that I ordered... Not a single fish egg in sight. Now everyone reading can look up -Gunkan with masago or Gunkan Capelin roe as it is on Yamamori menu Which is what I ordered... And please look up Tamago Nigiri... Firstly, I am diabetic and Insulin resistant and I CAN NOT eat soy products. The food looks totally nothing alike, needless to say the guy was hell bent to make order with TOFU on top of it... How can a person working in the Yamamori have GUNKAN on the menu and not know what Gunkan is...? It is a type of sushi.... There are few types on this menu like -Nigiri -Temaki -norimaki - futomaki used to be of my memory is right, not sure if that is the case currently... So I ended up calling Yamamori and express my unhappiness, that I wanted Gunkan with fish eggs and received something that looks like tofu on top and totally different shape. Which is like you order an Audi and they give you a bicycle. It's a transport, but totally different. I asked to speak to a manager since the guy on the phone told me that he can't do anything about it.... The guy told me that I could drive back in and collect them, or pay 20€ which is 10€ to the restaurant and 10€ back to collect it or to be brought to me I don't understand exactly how does it work?? I was thinking the Yamamori on the quays was bad having enormous amount of batter on my ebi tempura and disheartened attitude, but this is just unacceptable. Please make weekly meetings and introduce your staff to the food that is served to your long term loyal customer. I have never ever complained before, but not looking for a compromise with customer says a lot.... I will give 2 stars for the times that Mark used to work there, Frederica, Francesca, Currently Victor, Robbie, Failum and (2 fair haired guys w a beard who know what I have top of their head) and couple of other positive guys who always got my food right... I guess I wont be back for a while.

Yelp
I've been to a lot of sushi restaurants over the years, but Yamamori will always remain my favourite. Can we talk about the tuna terryaki for a moment - drool! The tuna is cooked to perfection by their expert Japanese chefs. The maki and sashimi is the best quality. They have some really interesting dishes on the menu from salmon tartar to pumpkin croquettes and lots of Japanese salads. This is no run of the mill sushi bar, it's very authentic and well worth a visit. An incredibly busy restaurant, you are going to want to book or else head in early. Yamamori has a really modern feel, incorporating lots of Japanese influences and big benches, perfect for groups. You'll laugh, you'll eat, it's perfect for birthdays and celebrations. Finish with a green tea ice-cream - so refreshing.

Yelp
Went here for the first time today and was expecting this place to be different to the last Yamamori experience and needless to say was slightly disappointed. The service here is good, the atmosphere nice and buzzy and the menu enticing. But the piece de resistance aka the food was only ok. The ramen was ok and the broth was slightly flavourless. The pibimpap was soaked in soy sauce and did not have a kick to it. Firstly that dish is never served with soy sauce in Korea and it has nice sticky and crispy rice in the bottom which this one did not. It was anything but a Pibimpap :-( Kimchi was excellent and the Taruzake was also good. May come back here if I am desperate otherwise my hunt for a good Japanese noodle shop will continue :-(

Yelp
Unimpressed unfortunately. Could be me as I am used to ramen from the Bay Area in California. The broth was just lacking. Bland, no salt or depth. Added a lot of soy sauce and still just meh. Shrimp were extremely overcooked. The restaurant is very nice though and the servers are very attentive and nice. I might give it another try.

Yelp
This place is top class. I live near-by and this is my den for late dinners. The fish is always fresh-fresh-fresh, and all tempura are great. Service nice, bar one or two Chinese shallow waitresses but maybe I come too often. Very busy at peak times, I would recommend to try late.

Yelp
So disappointed. This used to be a favourite place of mine to go to, however last time I went they removed my all time top dish from the menu; the scrumptious and no doubt calorie-laden tofu steak! Instead, I was left with my second choice, the vegetarian Bento - but without mushrooms. I asked them if they could double up on anything else, if there did happen to be a fungus based dish in there. They said no, they would not do this. So I picked a tofu item from the menu. When it came out... it was inedible. It had a very strong fishy flavour. I asked for an extra sauce, which they were happy enough to oblige, but it still wasn't enough to mask the nasty taste. I was starving when I left, only managing to eat my Miso soup and rice. I will not be returning.

Yelp
I love their beef teriyaki I recommend it and the Newyork baked cheese cake and chocolate brownie (yum yum)

Yelp
Ramen was bland and broth tasted more like salted water. Upon arrival the restaurant was hot and humid making our lunch much more unpleasant to sit through. The A/C either didn't work or they didn't feel it necessary to turn on. The server was attentive but this is about all this place had going for it.

Yelp
Came to Dublin for the weekend, Ate here on Friday and saturday. I was so good on Friday we decided to come again. Everything was perfect. There was a really good atmosphere, the music was good. Food was excellent, everything beautifully presented and delicious. The drinks were also some of the nicest mixes I've ever had. All the staff were curteous My new favourite place

Yelp
I love Japanese food and am persuasive enough that I can steer a group of 7 hungry Yelpers to the delights of Yamamori for lunch. Partly incentivised by the check-in offer (um, free sake! Win!) but also but the good rating and delish sounding menu, we were warmly greeted at the door. The place was heaving and I was worried we'd be turned away but they magicked up a table for us without any bother at all. I went for a bowl of Yamamori ramen - chargrilled chicken, king prawn, char shu, tofu, egg, seaweed and wasabi chooi sum in a soy sauce, chicken, pork broth and we got some sushi to share. The sushi and sashimi were delicious and disappeared quickly and the ramen arrived without too much of a delay. I'd recently made ramen at home and was interested to see how this compared - pretty good! It was a huge portion, I don't think anyone who got the ramen could finish their bowl! Packed with noodles as well as plenty of prawns, chicken and pork this was a great option for lunch although the restaurant was pretty hot as it was, and a steaming bowl of soup didn't help with that. They had some good beers too and service was friendly and smiley! The sake shots went down a treat and I'd head back here for more of their delightful sashimi when I'm in Dublin next time.
