Very enjoyable experience for lunch, as I remembered it from a good while back. The bibimbap was as it should be, the only thing that really bothered me was that it wasn't short grain rice but long grain rice, noticeable difference and hopefully only a temporary thing, maybe they ran out? The soup my friend had was super tasty and the fried fish cakes were a surprise hit. It gets busy during lunch time, on the weekend at a slightly later hour than on weekdays I assume.

Google
Tasty Korean in the heart of Berlin Came to YamYam due to a friend’s recommendation and really loved the place. Huge portions, spicy crispy kimchi (unlimited!) and just great service. Perfect for summer nights out Will definitely come again!

Google
Very pleasent dine in experience, the waiters speaks fluent english and serve you with pleasant smile.Very chilled place. Really liked the friend momos both beef and prawns .Their freshly drinks were super refreshing

Google
Cute place with pleasant staff. Ordered bibimbap, pretty big portion, good taste, but nothing special. Also, as it is Mitte with a lots of offices and tourists, prices are higher than they should be (16,5 Euro for Bibimpap🙃) I would say it is a good place to have a meal if you are near by, but not something I would go for specifically.

Google
We ordered the rice with fried tofu and veggies. It came with kimchi and was super tasty. Only thing that could have been a bit better was the speed of service but given that the place was near to full, it’s understandable. Now I need to come back to try the bibimbap!

Google
Had 2 dishes, Kimchi Pancake and Jukgaejang soup. Nice flavors, less spicy then what I like. Soup had barely any meat inside which is why only 4 stars for food.

Google
I recently had the pleasure of dining at YamYam, a delightful Korean restaurant in Berlin. However, while the overall experience was fantastic, I found the rice and funchosa to be a bit too sweet for my taste. I prefer a more savory or neutral flavor profile, so this was a minor disappointment.

Google
They have very good and fulfilling Lunch menus We loved the atmosphere and the staff was very nice.

Yelp
If you are looking for Korean food in Berlin, look no more! I ordered the Bipimbop with beef and it did not disappoint. Served in a stone bowl, it came to the table sizzling and the rice was crisp at the bottom! It was also topped with a fried egg, bean sprouts, cucumber and kimchee. I also tried the basil ice cream for dessert! It's topped with red bean, so if you don't like red bean just asked for just the ice cream.

Yelp
I was overcharged! When I inquired them by email about it, they send a message giving me info on how to make reservations and how to apply for their jobs. Unbelievable, never coming here again! Unfortunately I was part of a group so I didn't doublecheck and I never had this happen before. Only until after did I realize it didn't add up. Caution!! Make sure you check your bill or ask for a receipt. The food was good but not worth the price you pay! You can probably get the same elsewhere for cheaper and they wouldn't over charge you.

Yelp
The restaurant was closed even though we went according the opening hours in yelp! Long walk in the cold. Very disapointing!

Yelp
I came here alone while visiting Berlin for work. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There is a mix of two- and four- person tables, and long tables for mixed groups where they will squeeze you in if are solo. The place was steadily busy in a nice way, and obviously is popular with locals. There is an interesting cocktail list, many drinks with a twist on the classics. The food was quite good - my pork rice bowl was tasty with the right amount of heat and, based on my limited experience with Korean food, seemed pretty authentic. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I'm that asian that always has to have azn food whenever I travel. I'm so happy that Berlin has a good amount of ethic food to choose from. My friend was craving Korean food and we found this place on yelp. The place was extremely crowded when we went, so all the tables were filled. They had a back area where you have to take off your shoes and sit on mats. We were so hungry that we didn't care where we sat. We shared two dishes and ordered a bottle of soju. The first dish was the bulgogi dobbab. The portions were pretty decent and the meat was very flavorful. The japchae was especially good. I wanted something spicy so I got the spicy beef soup. My friend didn't like it, but I thought it was comparable to ones in the states. One thing that was weird is that they charge for kim chi and other banchans. If you order a meal, it comes with it though. Overall, I was pretty surprised at Yam Yam. I really enjoyed my meal and it satisfied my Korean food craving in Berlin lol.

Yelp
I have tried korean food before and Yamyam can't be considered as a classic and authentic korean restaurant. I couldn't be able to taste the real gimbap or the real kimchi jjigae (). It isn't bad but i wouldn't go there again. We were in 2 and spent 36€. As beverages we ordered a fritz cola and a shikhye, which is a korean sweet rice drink.

Yelp
This is the only place in Germany I've found that has the Jjam pong noodle soup (spicy seafood soup with noodles) it hits the spot and is absolutely the perfect amount of spice to clear up noses on a cold day. Their food is delicious and I like the no frills vibe-- I noticed that their food is great as take out and sit in. I also love it when a place makes good dumplings that are not fried but steamed. Would definitely go back here!

Yelp
Food: Mediocre. The bulgogi deopbap did not taste authentic, but the portion size was a lot bigger than I expected - had to get the rest for takeaway. Service: Subpar. The servers were lagging it and it took me forever just to get seated. She ended up telling me that I can just find any open seat and take it... It also took forever to place my order or clean up the mess that was left from the previous party. They just weren't very attentive and never replaced the napkins or anything! I don't know why this place is so popular, but I probably would not come back since there are better Korean spots in the area, and it was really strange that none of the servers or chefs were Korean.
google avatar

Yelp
Highly recommend it. Only issue is that it's cash only. Bulgogi is amazing. Suggest gimbap. And the kimchi. And the Korean Sangria. And the Lychee Lovers cocktail. Overall, great

Yelp
Jajangmyeon? Jjajang myun? Zha jiang mian? Here at YamYam it's cha chang myun, but alternate spellings aside all you really need to know is that their take on this classic black bean sauce noodle dish is super scrumptious. Seriously, the stuff is faultless and would stand up to any authenticity test; its savoury, inky sauce studded with pork, onions and potato. And it comes with a side of kimchi! I could not ask for more. Except maybe for YamYam to accept credit cards. My dining companion and I might have liked to sample more from the menu but only had €15 between us. As a result we had to forgo our thirst beyond tap water (though a beer would have been nice with the noodles) and our hunger beyond my cha chang myun and her rice bowl (no mandu for us!) I suppose the good news here is that you can have a totally filling meal for €15. Just make sure you bring the cash to pay for it!

Yelp
Having travelled extensively in Korea for five years I grew to love Korean food. In my opinion it's the best hangover food that is also healthy ;-)) I had the craving for Korean food for the aforementioned reasons so I went looking ;-)) The place is located on a wonderful street with loads of fashion boutiques, jewellery, book shops, knick knacks and hair salons. It also happens to have a load of nice interesting cafes serving different types of Asian food and so on. It was my first time in this part of Berlin and, I loved it. There are loads of locals and tourists alike at the cafes looking cool, sipping drinks and eating. This place has a really nice menu with loads of side dishes like kimchi, pickled cucumber, spinach salad and so on. For me a Korean meal without sides is not a meal ;-)) I ordered the Beef Mandu pan fried dumplings to start and a Bibimbap for main. The sides were excellent as was the bibimbap. It was quite authentic taste, fabulous flavour and spicy. The Mandu however, was nice but not what I would have expected. Similarly the soup side was a bit too oily and lacked flavour. The service was a tad slow to start but then again, I was there before normal dinner time and staff were only getting ready for dinner as was the kitchen. As time went on it got a whole lot quicker. My craving for Korean food was perfectly satisfied and I would happily come here anyday for a meal. It was not very expensive and food was excellent. Must try the kimchi pizza next time, it looked delicious ;-))

Yelp
My husband and I were looking for a quick light lunch spot in Mitte and came across YamYam. We had a look at the menu and saw that they had kimbap which are traditional Korean rice rolls with vegetables and thought "that's perfect for a light lunch" and off we went. Food: YamYam had a lot of great traditional Korean dishes on the menu which was great to see. Looking around the restaurant the dolsot bibimbap was very popular, the ramen looked good as well as the rice dishes. We both ordered the beef kimbap roll, one order of tofu and veggie dumplings, and a side order of the cucumber kimchi. FYI - the kimbap comes with a side of kimchi. Everything was authentic and delicious. For drinks we ordered a bottle of water and their Korean barely tea. Cost: 22.00€ Ambiance: Very casual. Service: Friendly and quick. We got our food within 10 minutes of ordering. Would I go back? Definitely! And I would recommend this spot to anyone who's looking for good Korea in Berlin. Note: YamYam is cash only.

Yelp
I've had a lot of Korean food in my time and I'd say this place has been one of my favorites. The food doesn't carry that heavy fermented flavor that a lot of Korean foods have, which is great in my book. It might turn some diehard Korean eaters away on the other hand though. Plenty of food for the price.
google avatar

Fabian W.

Yelp
Nice waiting staff, food was amazing and quickly served. Very affordable prices for authentic food in a nice area. Only drawback for me personally would be that they only accept cash payment but there are quite a few ATMs around.
google avatar

Szymon N.

Yelp
The food was really good, esp. When you order a beef-based meal. Staff friendly. Yum Yum!
google avatar

Dory K.

Yelp
Crowded on a rainy afternoon when I was craving noodle soup. Jjampong was packed with shrimp, squid and mussels and chewy noodles and a spicy broth. I wasn't expecting to find decent Korean food in Berlin but this hit the spot.
google avatar

Yelp
Some of the BEST, if the THE best Korean BBQ bowls that I've ever had!! Yam Yam is amazing - everything from their delicious iced tea, to their bulgogi beef and great noodles makes this establishment a must visit spot every time I come to Berlin.
google avatar

Yelp
This a favourite of mine, and being in the same street as A.P.C. and Sessun it makes for a tasty lunch on days needing some retail therapy. Coming from Oslo I'm not used to eating a lot of Korean food (we have Japanese or Chinese), but I am such a big fan of mandu (dumplings) and the nokdu choen (mungbean pancackes) that I believe I could eat here several times a week and not get tiered of it. It doesn't hurt that the dishes are very reasonably priced, and comes with a side of kimchi. Make sure to try the ice tea, it's worth the extra couple of euros.
google avatar

Yu M.

Yelp
We went to have lunch-super over there on a Sunday, so we got a table right away. However, if you go there on a workday (especially meal times), you probably have to wait for a table. The food is very nice and service is good, so it's definitely worth the wait.
google avatar

Yelp
I didn't expect much from this place but I loved it. I already noted it down to my classics list. Its middle-sized, bright and lovely place to sit, eat great food, have a drink and talk with friends. Food was amazing. I ordered Bibimbap (8.90 Euros) which is pretty cheap for portion. However, its sauce is hot so be careful. I especially have to mention Beef Bulgogi those guys cooking there. Its amazing. Its a great alternative to Japanese plain Gyu Don. So, go to this place and enjoy your great food with service of super friendly and nice service guys and girls.
google avatar

Jeannie A.

Yelp
The food was pretty good, and the service was too - though I did go at a time when the restaurant wasn't packed so I'm not sure what the service may be like during rush hour. A huge selection of food; it was hard to choose what to eat because everything sounded good. The prices were similar to those of other Korean restaurants in Berlin.

Yelp
Delicious dumplings and great service. Cozy spot in Mitte. Usually busy evenings and nights so make a reservation to make sure they save you a seat! I will definitely be back soon!

Yelp
I was staying at a hotel nearby on a work trip, and after a long day of travel my friend and I decided to have food delivered using Deliveroo. We were craving Korean and saw several Korean food options, and a quick google search showed that YamYam had very positive reviews. I can't attest to the actual restaurant and its facilities, but I can say that the food we ordered and had delivered was excellent! We ordered the jjajangmyun (black bean) noodles, bulgogi, and yangnyum fried chicken. The chicken was crispy and the sauce was perfect. The bulgogi was actually the best I've had in Germany- it was surprisingly very tender and well-seasoned and exactly how it should be. The jjajangmyun was my least favorite of the dishes- the sauce wasn't as rich as it should be and the noodles were slightly soggy, but this is probably due to the fact that we ordered the food for delivery. I was really pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and it really hit the spot (and Deliveroo did a great job in bringing the food to our hotel relatively promptly for a busy evening). And after scrolling through the photos here on Yelp, I only wish we had been able to also eat there again in the restaurant, as the other dishes look amazing!
google avatar

Ana K.

Yelp
Always great bibimbap! The food is not that pricy, but the drinks are pretty expensive. The place is pretty crowded so it is better to reserve a table in advance.

Elizah L.

Yelp
A great place to go on a cold day. It's near several UBahn stations and in a great part of Mitte. Service was fast and our food came out quick. The ramen was amazing and the right about of spice for medium. Portions were the perfect amount for the price. I plan on going again!
google avatar

Roi F.

Yelp
Very tasty dishes. Service is not too fast (...) but it is worthwhile waiting. We tasted spinach salad, seaweed salad and dim Sam and steer fried chicken with glass noodles and rice. Everything was tasty. Warmly recommended
google avatar

Lucinda L.

Yelp
Loved Yam Yam. Crowded but we got a table fairly soon. The tables are close together and we sat on benches with cushions - no chairs. I ordered bulgogi dob bab, the beef rice bowl and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was served with kim chee on the side. Good attentive service.

Yelp
I was there with a friend, we ordered Kimchi Jiggae, Doeji Bokkeumbap, a Kimbap-roll, Gogi mandu and some drinks. The service was quite friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised with the Doeji Bokkeumbap, it was slightly spicy, but not too much, overall very delicious. My friend, who ordered the Kimchi Jiggae, was not really pleased though, it was too spicy, even for a Kimchi Jiggae. And we both had korean food before, so we do know that it's quite spicy in general. Just this time, it was a bit too much in our opinion. The Kimbap and Mandu were good, nothing special in my opinion, but nonetheless tasty. The ambiente in there was okay as well - since the restaurant was quite full, we had to sit in the back - which wasn't as nicely decorated, but acceptable still. The prices here are very tolerable, all the dishes aren't too expensive and fill you up very well :) All in all, I'm giving it 3/5, because while it was a pleasant experience and the food wasn't bad at all, this restaurant didn't blow me away and wasn't anything special.
google avatar

Holly M.

Yelp
The food and service at yam yam was amazing!!! I would definitely recommend this place to everyone that travels to Berlin
google avatar

Elise F.

Yelp
So delicious! We ordered a steak bowl, a chicken bowl, veggie sushi, appetizers, and multiple orders of dumplings. The food was great and the staff was friendly and helpful in seating our group. The bill wasn't too expensive with all of the food that we ordered. Hands down, best Korean food I've had in a long time.
google avatar

Egor S.

Yelp
Extremely slow service. Had to wait 50 minutes. Korean people were served before me while I ordered the same dish around 20 minutes before them. Taste is bad.
google avatar

Jenni F.

Yelp
YUUUMMMM! Speedy service n' spicy goodness all over. The bibimbap comes out sizzling in a hotpot and their seafood soup is a sea haven of clams/shrimp/usw. Recommend!
google avatar

Alyssa M.

Yelp
I'm Korean, have lived in Korea half my life and eat Korean food constantly. I had high expectations for YamYam - a Korean girl can only subsist on Italian/Turkish/German food for so long before breaking down and dragging herself to the nearest Korean restaurant. Like a few things in Berlin, I found YamYam to be all style, no substance. Bibimbap was the blandest I've ever had, Kimchi was obviously not fresh/store-bought, Bulgogi was extremely dry. Frankly, I think Gochujang (hot pepper paste) saved the meal. I also do not really understand why prices have to be this high. Korean dishes like Bibimbap in Korea can be bought for 5-6 euros, and the ingredients are all vegetables that can be found in Europe as in Korea, so...... YamYam's great if you're into the Mitte dining scene and people watching. If you're serious about Korean food, look elsewhere.
google avatar

Francesca C.

Yelp
I used to live in Seoul, so my expectations for Korean food are higher than the average bear. Yam Yam gets a picnic basket. We didn't have a reservation at this cafeteria-style eatery, and it was heaving around 8pm on a Saturday. We patiently waited (for about 15 minutes) and the house gave us some free tea for our wait. The hostess said she could accomodate us for literally 30 minutes, as the next free table was reserved at 9. We ordered while we waited, and eventually the same hostess said if we moved tables just ones seat over, we could stay longer. At that point we had already finished so it was fine. This restaurant needs a bigger space! They were turning people away left and right. But what it lacks in tables and decor, it makes up for in speedy service, oh yea, and awesome food. I mistakenly over-ordered, with a bibimbap, jiggae, mondu and a bulgogi dish for 2 hungry people. We scarfed our food because of the time restraint on our table, but the portions are HUGE and we could have dealt with just 1 side and 1 main course combined. Definitely not a typical Korean BBQ place, or restaurant, but a fun German, cafeteria style take on Korean comfort foods. While I was there, I really wanted a Cass, but their beverage options were pretty limited. Would go again, with a reservation!
google avatar

Tara M.

Yelp
Yam Yam should have the misnomer Nam Nam, Miam Miam, or YUM YUM, because that is exactly what it is. Kitty licking good. I ordered the "Bibimbap" as usual and although I got it spicy, I still had to place a few spoonfuls of the hot sauce into my sizzling bowl of sexy food. Also, there is something about eating with silver chopsticks that makes me smile. My favorite place to sit is by the window, where they have rugs on a platform. Seems like it would be cozier with a few blankets, soup, and a round of friends on a Sunday afternoon. Good Korean in Berlin... Celebrate the viral gangnam here and get your kimchi on. Note: At lunchtime it can get a bit crowded with the Mitte crowd, but service is fast and because you pay up front, even faster as you don't have to wait for the waitresses to pay attention to your beckon.
google avatar

Katze M.

Yelp
All the vegetarian dishes aren't vegetarian. There is always chicken in the broth or fish sauce in the dish. That is criminal, don't go there!
google avatar

Khaled R.

Yelp
We expected good South Korean cuisine because of all the good reviews on diverse platforms. Unfortunately we were disappointed of not only the food quality and taste itself but also the service and atmosphere. Maybe try out for a quick lunch but its definitely not an option if you're looking for a nice dinner restaurant. Another over hyped "mitte" place.
google avatar

Anisha G.

Yelp
This is the first place I ate at when I arrived in Berlin. The place was super cute and clean. I think I ordered 8a. It was good, but I didn't realize how much rice was in the bowl. I am not a big fan of rice. Anyways, I thought the food was really fresh and tasty. There was a lot of food even in that small bowl. I didn't pay attention to the inside, mainly went in there to order my food. I did notice it was small, and they have outdoor seating.
google avatar

Pearl K.

Yelp
I'm always a bit hesitant/wary of eating Korean food in countries other than Korea and parts of the US. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the food at Yamyam. I've been there twice and so far I've tried their Doeji Bokum and their Bibimbap with meat. I was craving spicy food both times and I was definitely satisfied :D. The Doeji Bokum is flavorful and spicy. The only thing I was disappointed with were the side dishes that came with it. The kimchi was okay but the spinach was soggy and the cabbage slaw/salad was kind of flavorless. The Bibimbap is pretty good. I wasn't sure if they would serve it in the hot bowl but I was glad that they did (the best part is always at the bottom when the mixed rice gets crunchy). The meat that they added was kind of tough and chewy but other than that the dish was good. The restaurant is kind of small and it can be hard to find a seat when it's busy, but the food comes out really quickly.
google avatar

Megan L.

Yelp
Yam Yam should rename themselves to Yummmm Yummmm! The quality of the food is great, very fresh ingredients! The menu is extensive so there is always something new to try. There is not a very large beer selection, only a few bottled brands. You have to order at the counter, but the service is very quick, and wait for food is not long. The decor is stylish and minimalistic, and the neighborhood is very nice. The outdoor seating is a bit cramped and can get competitive but if you do manage to score a spot it is very nice to sit, eat and people watch! It is great place to grab a quick but sophisticated dish before an evening out in Mitte! A reservation for weekends is not necessary but would probably be helpful.

Yelp
I remember when I lived in Berlin few years ago, there were only a handful of Korean restaurants, most of which resembled spicier version of Chinese food. I was excited to see that quite a few had opened up since then, and I couldn't wait to try them during our visit. We picked Yam Yam for the reason that it was close to where we were staying. The menu is simple and consists of all the usual favorites: gimbop, bi bim bop, ohjinguh bokum. The flavor isn't as authentic as one might expect, esp if you're used to eating Korean food, and the quality of the veggies are subpar, as they are pickled versus being freshly steamed and marinated. However, the restaurant is absolutely adorable, and it's located in one of the loveliest neighborhood/areas in Berlin. It may disappoint those seeking Korean food that umma used to make, but I absolutely enjoyed the experience as a whole ... I mean, where else in Korea or in the US can you have bi bim bop sitting outdoors at a sweet little restaurant on a beautiful summer day? I can always have authentic Korean meals when I'm in Seoul or San Francisco, and I very much enjoyed my dining experience at Yam Yam.
google avatar

June K.

Yelp
YamYam had been better back in the days. It's stil good no doubt and probably still the best place to have some Bibimbap but their sidedishes are now simply some kimchi instead of the variety they used to had. The interior is minimalistic and the waiter are really nice.
google avatar

Julie D.

Yelp
I'm not familiar with the korean kitchen but I really had a great lunch there. It took me a while to choose but we all ordered something different so we could share. The fried dumplings were so tasty! I would definitely go back.
google avatar

Sori K.

Yelp
Ordered jopchae dupbap and bibimbab. As korean, food was not that good. Jopchae dupbap was too salty and their bibimbap was totally no taste. Been 3 different korean restaurant here in berlin. And i guess MARU is the best korean estaurant so far in berlin.
google avatar

Alex H.

Yelp
Wait, I didn't realize Yelp was in Europe now...this would have been useful last semester. ANYWAY. YamYam was around the corner from the hostel I stayed in for a week, and it was fantastic. I went for dinner almost every day. It was lovely to be in a city with relatively inexpensive food in a nice atmosphere that wasn't shwarma (as was the only reasonably priced food in Copenhagen). The vegetable bibimbap was particularly memorable, as was the ramyun with egg. I definitely will return if I'm ever back in Berlin (which hopefully will happen asap.)

Ivy H.

Yelp
The service was great. The food came fast and the value was great. We had an overall pleasant experience!
google avatar

Jeein S.

Yelp
Changed my mind about this place. Last time I gave it three stars for the okay Jjajangmyun and nice interior/service. However the last time I went here I had the most disappointing bibimbap I've ever tasted. The fried egg on top was rubbery and the dish itself was not piping hot like it's supposed to be. Dolsot bibimbap is one of the easiest (and most traditional) Korean dishes. Really disappointing.
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
Decent Korean spot. Would def recommend the fried mandu (we got steamed and they were a tad gummy) and the bulgogi bowl. Cool outside seating on a mild Berlin night.

Amontilado 1.

Yelp
One of the worst Korean places I've been. It literally lacks everything whay you would expect flavour wise in Korean dishes. Absolutely white-washed bs. Also, who charges money for tap water??
google avatar

Ma E.

Yelp
Is a very great place for enjoying Korean food. The prices are fair, and the food is great. I come here very often, sometimes in the noon, you have to wait. At the noon, many people are having lunch there. But only pay cash...
