bites - confit duck cigar not what i expected, but still nice. texture of the duck confit left more to be desired. - cold smoked king prawn probably the best dish of the night in my opinion. smoke was rly prominent and prawn was yummy with a nice bite to it. sauce was delicious. - kingfish sashimi taste was good. would have loved a bit more citrus but not mad about it. the ikura was smoked too! really cool. mains - grilled pork belly not really grilled, didn’t have any char and came served in soup. internal cook was really good though, the fat was glistening. - murray cod great portion and great cook. the sauce was nostalgic, tasted like a rich bean sauce others - koshihikari rice pickled veg was nice and portion was generous we booked through first table and it was such value for money! service was great and smoking each dish different is a really unique take to food. drinks were really good.

An amazing, well balanced experience. I’m not usually a big fan of smoky flavors, but Yan won me over! The smokiness was perfectly nuanced and never overpowering. I loved that the menu specifies what each dish is smoked with. A must visit!

yan gave me homey vibes and is the perfect place for a family gathering, work dinner or just catching up with friends. never knew asian fusion could be done so well and left me wanting more. • the ceviche was the perfect pairing with the crisp of the chip and also the subtle hint of pineapple perfectly balanced out the lime. the rice was the main character, the portion size was so generous and the ingredients are so simple yet the rice was packed with flavour. the short ribs were so incredibly tender and paired with the sauce was just heavenly, especially as a non-kale lover it was cooked really well. the lamb was also so tender and flavourful paired with the chimmichuri. the coconut ice cream could have been a meal on its own and definitely could feed a whole family. the coconut flavour was so rich and with the fresh coconut jelly it was very refreshing. • pictured 〰️snapper, lemongrass, kaffir lime, smoked pineapple 〰️koshikari rice, olives, pickled mustard leaves 〰️lamb ribs, braised eggplant, asian chimmichuri 〰️beef short ribs, sautéed kale, sansho pepper 〰️coconut ice cream, coconut jelly in young coconut 〰️lemon lime bitters

A really interesting menu. A la carte suits the smaller appetite. Confit duck cigars are fun tasty bites. Cold smoked king prawn comes with shell & delicate smokiness, and quaint towlettes for hand refresh. Kangaroo tartare flavour is boosted by beetroot bursts + more. Squid was largish very tender squares with a tasty but overpowering sauce, for the delicate mollusc. Friendly servers & sommelier. Great ambience.

One of the nicest lunches ive had in a long time..food was incredible..the way the chefs balanced the subtle Asian flavours with smoke was wonderful and definitely something new. Presentation was gorgeous! The staff were amazing. Genuine and attentive with a great attitude. Huge thabk you to them and the chefs. Id definitely recommend it and ill be going back.

went for a double birthday dinner and was absolutely fantastic! from delicious cocktails to attentive service to thoughtful ambiance— has a great time. the short rib and ceviche were 10/10 dishes; ask the waitresses for explanations on the food bc it was all thoughtfully made! (coconut ice cream made to order rapidly with liquid nitrogen?!) great place for a special occasion

Great service at Yan! Food was unexpectedly so delicious and the venue decor was great. Really enjoyed the braised watermelon, kingfish sashimi,kohlrabi, grilled corn, king prawn and the giant coconut ice cream dessert! Mocktails were delicious too. Would definitely return back for more.
