Zhangjiajie (ZZJ) and Yangjiajie (YJJ) are both located in the ZZJ National Park. The connectivity in this park is very respectable- there are cable cars, buses (big & small) and walking paths to link you from one attraction to another. The only key criteria- you must be able to WALK!!! The amount of steps you take is mind blowing if you want to cover all attractions thus plan your trip well to maximise your stay in ZZJ. The attraction “One Step to Heaven” is an interesting Hiking trip > when you reach the peak, I’d advise to continue the descent to the Cable car Base Station instead of going back using the same route. It’s easier..

Fantastic park that is well laid out for the insane amount of tourist that come. Well thought out system of free public buses. Only issues is that not all locations are accessible by the buses unless you enter from different locations. So if you book a 4 day ticket you may want to book hotels near other entrances. Lots of trails are available to walk.

It is much better than huangshizhai, I think. The wulongzhai and the tianbofu is the perfect place. The tianbofu is the best view place. But it is some dangerous to get there.

I'm in love with this place! The nature is wonderful and I met there a lot of very kind people and people who wanted to take picture with me, ..or they just took pic of me. Entrance Fee: full price 248RMB, student ticket for 126 RMB Buses: FREE (inside of area) TIPS - it's good to deal with shoppers, because the water in the mountains is overpriced (5 RMB) - or buy water outside, near is a shop, it's cheaper - have a fun and take a funny picture in some traditional Chinese dress - if you have drone, you can use it here, it's worthy - say "no, thank you" to random Chinese guider guys if you can't speak Chinese - say "yes" to buying beautiful postcards of Zhangjiajie from famous photographer for 25 RMB - it's enough to spend there 3 days... but 4 days are better! -> you can enjoy more the nature, feel the peace

Great place despite the rampant commercialism. It's easy to get away from the commercialism once you stray off the spots that are serviced by the shuttle buses.

The geology is impressive, it's best to walk up and down rather the take the cable car, elevator or shuttle buses, these areas are busy and noisy, away from the crowds is beautiful and tranquil. Beware that the shuttle buses don't take you out of this resort, so it you leave it too late in the day to walk out you will have to pay to get a cable car or elevator down.
