Always a favorite since I was a little girl! The guides there are fantastic and full of fascinating facts, and there’s great little gift shop at the end of the tour. Don’t miss driving on an extra mile to Custer Ghost Town, a jewel and full of history!

History at a stand still. I absolutely love anything about gold mining ⛏️ Mr. Reed was amazing and so cool to listen too. The story about his dad and family growing up in this area was so fun to listen too. I wish we had time to do more that day at Custer

Very cool old dredge. Carry on to Custer and then over the hill on the old stagecoach road to whatever the next town is to the north. It's unpaved but an suv can do it. It's far enough off the pavement to remind of you when it ran but not so far it's a hassle. Custer too. And they're both restored enough to be worth some time and effort.

We have been wanting to come see this for a couple years now and finally did it. This is a wonderful piece of local history. They don't charge anymore to see it but they ask that you make a donation.

Very cool place to visit. It is an eye opener to see all the damage caused by these dredges. The impact the caused will last for 100's of years. It is great that they no longer allow this style of digging for gold. Great place to visit if you are in the area.

This Dredge was incredible. I've seen lots of remains of dredging but never the actual equipment. Gold mining is a fact of the west and seeing the history is cool. I also recommend the Bonanza Cemetery, Bonanza Ghost town and Custer Ghost town. I wish we had time to visit the Bayhorse as it looks incredible in pics. Thank you to the hardworking people who keep the dredge open to the public.

Wow, what a cool piece of history right here! The volunteers that work here are AMAZING. Very knowledgeable and so friendly. They made the experience great. So cool to learn about the gold dredging here in this part of Idaho. Recommend to any history buff!

This is a cool old dredge with quite a bit of history behind it. It was bought and sold a few times over the years. The Warren Dredging Corporation, which was partially owned by J.R. Simplot bought the dredge in 1949 and overcame the setbacks of the previous owner. It was moved to its final resting place in 1953. It's fun coming across these structures from a part of our history that make you stop and ponder the struggles they had. As always, leave no trace, leave it better than you found it, and enjoy 😉.

Yelp
This is a great place to take the family to visit! Relive the old days of Dredge mining and get a tour of the dredge. We have been there a number of times and its always interesting. Up the road from the Dredge is Custer, an old mining town with some great history and events during the year. And its just beautiful up there, take some time to hike around and enjoy the great Idaho Outdoors. Not far from Stanley Idaho, and along the Salmon River where you can find hot springs to soak in and lots of areas to camp.
