Yanmo

We visited for dinner, the restaurant is nice with the Japanese vibe, overall the food was tasty, but the service was not so good, we needed to ask a few time for our food and beverages, and wait too long for the check. I think they were a pretty disorganized between the kitchen and the staff.

Yanmo is located in B1 amongst the hustle and bustle of shopping boutiques near Omotesando station. We walked in at 545pm without a reservation on Saturday. Despite a 6pm starting time, we got seated immediately with only one condition that we must leave by 8pm before the next reservation. The staff was very attentive and the local Japanese regional dishes were Outstanding. Some of the seafood pickles were very pungent, not for the faint hearted but full of umami. The grilled yellow tail is highly recommended. We left full and happy, had our tastebuds satisfied, outstanding value at ¥8000 each (food only). Excellent value!

Went for lunch and head one of the set fish meals (pictured). Food and service was great and the it had a nice atmosphere. Wasn't too busy when we arrived and got seated immediately. Would recommend for a quick meal in the area.

Yanmo is a beautiful restaurant which serves the best grilled fish I ve had ever had. The place is set as reflection of Japan, modern and traditional. Dashi is giving character to all the small entries you can order be it Komatsuna (sort of spinach) or dashimaki (omelette) and Tofu. To all visitors I wish the same wonderful experience. Enjoy and embrace the Japanese culture through food and sake 🍶 🐟

Sensational lunch-set of grilled fish and sashimi. I had the Shio Mackerel (さば塩) which was very meaty and flavourful, and my wife had a different fish which was also so delicious. I heard that dinner time it’s a bit expensive, but lunch menu is great cospa!

Overall, satisfied enough to feel authentic Japanese home cuisine. But, it was either way too salty and sweet for my personal taste

The seasonal fishes directly shipped from Izu and prepared with charcoal grill. The place is considered one of the most honorable restaurant in Omotesando district.

Beware of the 2200 JPY table charge per person and that the prices are listed without 10% tax. We were shocked when we ordered food and drinks for around 6500-7000 JPY and were hit with a 12'000 bill! The food was not better than any other decent izakaya, and service was a bit spotty (wobbly & clumsy serving and we didn't get water nor refills unless asked despite all empty glasses. The younger waitress also had a permanent scowl). Portion sizes are on the small side and the tempura was soggy. The atmosphere was loud and drunkenly cheerful from the other tables, which also didn't quite fit the bill and interior ambience. Good service point was that we were not rushed to leave, even after the last order and the check were done. There's too many better priced alternatives.

I was here for dinner other day after being always wanted to try this place. The foods were all good but not happy with service. When we received assortment of Sashimi, the server did not explain the fishes until I asked. Also, we ordered Rice balls at the end of meal and asked for teas. Teas did not come until 3rd request way after we received the check. Guys, please raise the service level here!
