Yanmo

We thought this place was tourist friendly because it had a fully, well-translated menu on Tabelog, but it's not. The owner just used ChatGPT to translate the menu and put it up on Tabelog. None of the workers put in any effort to speak even a few words of English with obvious tourists. Midway through the tasting menu (which I bought because I wouldn't need to talk as much Japanese) the waitress tried to get us to buy more food outside of the tasting menu in full Japanese. If I didn't know basic Japanese it would have been a very uncomfortable experience. The food is fine, nothing special and too expensive for what you get.

Honestly, my fave meal in Japan. Freshest big thick cut of fish with amazing hot Japanese rice. The vibe was great and service was top!

Their food here is so good. Traditional Japanese dishes. The service could definitely be better tho.

Yanmo is located in B1 amongst the hustle and bustle of shopping boutiques near Omotesando station. We walked in at 545pm without a reservation on Saturday. Despite a 6pm starting time, we got seated immediately with only one condition that we must leave by 8pm before the next reservation. The staff was very attentive and the local Japanese regional dishes were Outstanding. Some of the seafood pickles were very pungent, not for the faint hearted but full of umami. The grilled yellow tail is highly recommended. We left full and happy, had our tastebuds satisfied, outstanding value at ¥8000 each (food only). Excellent value!

We visited for dinner, the restaurant is nice with the Japanese vibe, overall the food was tasty, but the service was not so good, we needed to ask a few time for our food and beverages, and wait too long for the check. I think they were a pretty disorganized between the kitchen and the staff.

Yanmo is a beautiful restaurant which serves the best grilled fish I ve had ever had. The place is set as reflection of Japan, modern and traditional. Dashi is giving character to all the small entries you can order be it Komatsuna (sort of spinach) or dashimaki (omelette) and Tofu. To all visitors I wish the same wonderful experience. Enjoy and embrace the Japanese culture through food and sake 🍶 🐟

Went for lunch and head one of the set fish meals (pictured). Food and service was great and the it had a nice atmosphere. Wasn't too busy when we arrived and got seated immediately. Would recommend for a quick meal in the area.

Overall, satisfied enough to feel authentic Japanese home cuisine. But, it was either way too salty and sweet for my personal taste

I was here for dinner other day after being always wanted to try this place. The foods were all good but not happy with service. When we received assortment of Sashimi, the server did not explain the fishes until I asked. Also, we ordered Rice balls at the end of meal and asked for teas. Teas did not come until 3rd request way after we received the check. Guys, please raise the service level here!
