Yardbird Southern Table and Bar

Food was delicious, the fried chicken paired well with the cheddar waffles and spiced watermelon, excellent combo. We had a large piece of breast meat, 2 wings, 1 thigh and 1 drumstick. The breast meat was juicy and moist so it was well cooked. Pancakes were from a the Christmas menu, it’s good for sharing and very filling. Each colour has a different flavour. Do share these with someone. I personally enjoyed the pink one, with jam within the pancake. Service was 3/5 as I found it very mixed. Even though it wasn’t very busy it took us some time for us to be seated. While waiting we could see staff chatting with each other, moving around casually, almost feels kinda lazy. While dining, some staff were very friendly and attentive, others kinda had a bit of an attitude and a bit of ‘black face’ maybe kenna sabo to work Christmas lol. It was not easy to catch the attention of the wait staff when we wanted to request for more water etc (relative to MBS dining standard) So your service experience is highly dependant on your luck. Atmosphere-wise we were seated in an outdoor area with a great view. There were flies but that’s something you can’t avoid when dining outside.

Ordered the kurobuta pork belly as recommended by Alex. The dish was overwhelmingly fatty, with very little meat — roughly a 9:1 fat-to-meat ratio. To clarify, the photo only shows the fat from two out of the four slices of pork belly served. The dish cost $48, and I genuinely felt cheated. We were told the menu had recently been revamped and that this dish is one of their signature items. However, it wasn’t even listed as a popular dish under their google review. It felt like we were treated as guinea pigs for this dish. On a positive note, the chicken and waffles were decent.

Service was super fast, waiter was very patient and attentive, with extensive knowledge on the foods and drinks. Chicken waffle is their signature dish, the portion was HUGE, enough for 3-4 people sharing. Chicken is very well cooked and not dry at all. Side dishes are quite small in comparison, collard greens sides is good! Drinks are meh, but may come back for other mains.

We walked in without a reservation on a Saturday night and were seated at the bar, which we were more than happy to accept. We got our food and drinks order taken promptly, and service was really quick for a busy night. This was actually my 3rd visit to Yardbird and previously I remembered it being very underwhelming and average. However, I decided to give it another shot as my partner wanted to try it. We really enjoyed most of the food. Fried chicken was juicy, crispy, tender and tasty. The cheese waffles were a winner for me too as I love savory flavours over sweet. The brussel sprouts had a great char and goes really well with the feta cheese. The mash potatoes however really lacked in seasoning and it was neither buttery nor creamy. The crab cake was a little fishy, but still acceptable and went well with the accompanying sauce. Overall still a nice place to dine at and we would return if we are ever in the vicinity looking for dinner.

My friend and I were at the bar area..We ordered truffle fries and drinks. The fries were a bit on the crunchy side, it was good although a bit oily, salty and the cheese was grated in big chunks instead of the kind that blends in with the food. The cocktail drinks were superb. We ordered the South Side Fizz, Watermelon Mojito and Berry Bourbon Smash - all of them paired well with our never-ending stories! Service was awesome, ambiance was just right with music playing in the background but not so loud you can't chat anymore with some decors and lights to make the place look warm and welcoming. Highly recommended for a good place to hang out with friends and family.

Dropped by Yardbird Southern Table & Bar for an afternoon snack and coffee break, and it turned out to be a very pleasant stop. The atmosphere is relaxed yet polished, making it a comfortable place to unwind, whether you’re taking a break from shopping or meeting someone casually. We ordered the truffle fries and a cup of Americano. The fries were nicely done — crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and generously coated with truffle aroma without being overpowering. A great sharing snack. The Americano was solid and well-brewed, exactly what you want for a mid-day caffeine fix. What really stood out was the service. The servers were attentive without being intrusive, checking in on us regularly and making sure everything was alright. It added a nice touch to what was otherwise a simple coffee-and-snack visit. Overall, Yardbird is a good spot for a laid-back break with reliable food and excellent service. Would definitely consider coming back again.

Overall food was good but strangely the temperature of the food was not consistent. Ordered the whole bird and surprisingly the breast meat was hot but the wings were just warm. Also the mac n cheese was just warm. Positive is the staff was friendly and efficient

Ordered their most hyped about Chicken with Waffle. Find the chicken not that worth the praise. It’s crispy but does not have the wow factor. The waffle with their home made sauce is nice. Also loved their spiced watermelon. Service was very good. Detailed explanation given and attentive.
