Yarkay, Thimphu - IHCL SeleQtions

Good hotel - good location for the one night we stayed. Staff very friendly, central location. Clean tidy decent sized rooms. We were on a tour so for the purpose it fully met expectations and was decent in value, especially considering the Le Meridien is almost next door and is far more expensive. Overall very happy with the choice and very friendly staff.

Food was amazing, and so was the entire crew. Special mention to Mani Rathore who took very good care of us. Hospitality was top-notch. The only thing that I did not like was that they don't have any open (or even closed) space to relax or wind-down except the restaurants - no kids area, lounge area is pretty small. Nothing that the hotel can do anything about it now. It is a great option if you want to live in a comfy city-hotel. Views from the room are okayish (mountains are visible from some rooms but not a clear view).

We had wonderfull time at Yarkay. Right from check in, thanks to Mr Mani Kant, we had a very comfortable stay. The F & B team led by Pankaj took good care of our taste buds. The restaurant team, each and every girl , took great care of us. God bless each one of them. Nicely located property.

We have our own responsibility and you are supposed to do your work properly! But the people in the hotel seems to interfere in other’s work. The chef in the hotel in Thimphu interferes a lot with the guests. He even argues and makes a stand on who eats the food instead of making good food. |The hotel is pleasant when the staff makes the stay homely. Please take it constructively and do the necessary!

Great hospitality, nice ambience, clean areas, tasty food...will love to visit again and again..||All facilities were excellent. Gym was clean and equipments were well maintained. Room service was also good.||Staff is also very helpful. Thank them for hospitality they showed.

We recently stayed at Yarkay Seleqtions in Thimphu as a family of five, and it was truly one of the best hotel stays we’ve had — not just within IHCL (Taj Hotels), but anywhere (and we have travelled 28+ countries as a family). The hotel is beautifully located in the city centre and has been stunningly refurbished since coming under the IHCL banner in January 2025. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. What really made our stay special, though, was the warmth and thoughtfulness of the team. We loved the unique experiences — from a momo-making workshop to a traditional Bhutanese dinner in national dress, with a welcome song and dance by the restaurant staff. It was a beautiful way to connect with the local culture. Special thanks to the amazing teams at Restaurant Zakhangg and Zachum, and to the chefs — Pankaj, Rohit, Tenjin — and restaurant staff Tashi, Asmita, Passang, Karma, Sangay, and many others. They handled our group’s diverse food preferences with so much love and care. The housekeeping team kept our rooms pristine and cozy, and the front desk and concierge — Susmita, Jai Raj, Budha — were extremely helpful and kind, even helping us with the best local shopping tips. We are especially grateful to Ms. Phub Zam (the owner, who personally came to see us off) and Mr. Vikram Patil, the attentive and gracious General Manager. Yarkay Seleqtions has set a new standard of hospitality. We left with full hearts and can’t wait to return!

Rooms were well decorated and cake was one of the best I have ever eaten...Mani( Manager ) was well mannered and helpful...food was delicious ...receptionist was quick in term of service...chef fed us some unique and tasty cuisines......

Staying at taj ( yarke) is pleasure because of chef 🧑‍🍳 RUHIT and 🧑‍🍳 Pankaj ! They will spoil with good food , bhindi , razma, paratha , daal tadka and above all Punjabi kadhi , tasty as hell!!! Did we gained weight blame it on them ! Will remember the hospitality and great food for life !!!!
