YARTS Yosemite Area Transportation

I took YARTS Yosemite transportation from Merced Amtrak station to Yosemite national park on May 4, Sunday and took the bus back from Yosemite to Merced Amtrak station on May 7, Wednesday. I took the 8 AM bus to Yosemite and the bus arrive on time. Boarding was smooth, there was ample space to keep my luggage in the bus. The bus ran on time and reached Yosemite right on time around noon or so. The bus ride was extremely scenic!!! And I thoroughly enjoyed the amazing views of the mountains and the Merced River! The bus made a couple of stops where others could board or get down, and those are some stops I’d like to explore someday as there are some nearby hiking trails there as well. The return bus was delayed on May 7. I think the bus was supposed to leave Yosemite by 8 AM but we left around 8:20 or so. I was a little worried about the delay because I had a train to catch from Merced Amtrak station soon, but thankfully I made it in time. I’d definitely take the YARTS transportation to go to Yosemite again. It was such a smooth process and the ride was so scenic!!! :-)

Yarts is a long standing go to transport to and from yosemite. Ive taken the merced to yosemite and the fresno to yosemite buses many many times and both are excellent. Its reccommended that you pay online but even if you don't the bus driver can accept card or cash. It usually takes about 2 hours They are on time and reliable and wowzas the views along the way are stunning

Best choice to go to Yosemite national park with a family with a group of 20 involving kids, we were able to store Sleds under the bus. Bus drivers were great . Bus was nice inside and comfortable. Restroom inside too bus

Buses run super late. We sat at a stop for 45 minutes and then were refused service because they require car seats?! Never have I needed to haul around a car seat for public transit before. The new requirement wasn’t mentioned during booking nor was it in our confirmation email. We didn’t get to go to Yosemite that day and were very sad.

We took the YARTS 140 route during their winter service. Our voyage began at the route’s first stop: Merced Regional Airport. Plenty of free parking! We were greeted by our fabulous driver Michelle and as we picked up more passengers and entered the park, she pointed out various historical markers and photo opportunities—we loved this! Despite icy conditions, we arrived in Yosemite only five minutes behind schedule. Our return trip was driven by a new trainee, with Michelle observing. We knew we were in good hands! Unfortunately, this bus model was not retrofitted with automatic tire chains so there was a mid-trip pause which contributed to the 20 minute delay this go around. Both busses lacked an operational PA system and working power outlets, however we felt their cleanliness and seat comfort made up for it. The beautiful mountain views combined with Michelle’s quick wit and boastful laugh leads us to rate our experience with a resounding five stars.

YARTS is the Best way to get to Yosemite but it does take longer than a car. But you don't have to worry about the impossible parking

Booked tickets into and out of the park on Memorial Day Weekend from Mariposa Park and Ride to Yosemite Village. Comfortable and clean buses with toilets. Experienced drivers and timely arrivals/departures both ways. Our driver into the park was pointing out significant landmarks and sights. I highly recommend taking YARTs to avoid the hassle of driving and parking. You also won’t need to make park reservations or pay entrance fees by car.

Travelled from Yosemite Valley Lodge to Merced in the morning was a spacious, pleasant, and scenic experience. Will definitely use YARTS service again when I'm travelling.
