Yates Family Orchard is an absolute treasure! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles and a truly family-friendly atmosphere. The orchard itself is beautiful, with stunning views of the Vermont countryside, and the variety of apples available is fantastic. Whether you’re looking to pick your own or buy some fresh produce from the farm stand, you won’t be disappointed. Their apples are delicious and fresh, and the selection of homemade treats is just icing on the cake. The apple cider and soft serve are must-tries, and the apple cider donuts are some of the best I’ve ever had. You can really tell the care and passion the Yates family puts into their farm. If you’re in Vermont and looking for a charming, authentic orchard experience, Yates Family Orchard is a perfect choice. Highly recommend for families, couples, or anyone who enjoys fresh, local produce and a beautiful day out! This review highlights both the quality of the products and the overall experience at the orchard!

I had a wonderful experience at this charming, family-owned orchard. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the owner went out of their way to make sure we had a great visit. The picturesque setting and warm hospitality made it a very memorable stop!

My family goes late every year but there's still a decent selection of apples no matter when you go, not to mention the best cider donuts you'll ever have. The picture is of the "Midnight Dreamee," a cider donut topped with maple creemee and hot fudge, all made there, and they have one that's topped with apple pie and caramel instead of hot fudge; both 11/10

GREAT family friendly apple orchard complete with you-pick, cider donuts, cider and honestly fantastic live music (on select weekends). Best Autumn Sunday we could have asked for!

The Dreamees are good. They are a freshly made hot cider donut with nice cider creemee on the top. Yummo

An amazing orchard in central Vermont. A friend recommended this place, based solely on the Dreamee, and it was a great tip. We loved the fresh donuts, covered in the unique cider creamee flavor. The apples of 2024 are also exceptional in flavor and I don't think I have ever seen more apples in the trees in my entire life. The gift shop is also a great place to grab some Vermont essentials. We easily spent $100 here, between produce, treats, and gifts. Definitely a 'must-do' if in Vermont during the fall.

Get off the beaten path and go to this place! While visiting the area a local friend recommended this specific orchard. There are a lot of orchards in the area but this one was quaint. The apples were absolutely delicious and the orchards beautiful. The little store had all kinds of fun, local gifts and foods. I ordered the dreamy, which was the apple cider doughnut, hot out of the fryer topped with maple ice cream, cooked apples with cinnamon and caramel sauce. Quite possibly the best dessert I’ve ever had in my life. And this is coming from a chocolate girl who doesn’t even normally like this kind of stuff. Seriously, so delicious. And everyone who worked there was so friendly! They had Porta potty‘s in case you needed the loo and a funky little outdoor sink with soap and water which was nice. They had lots of apples in bins that you could bag up yourself if you didn’t feel like picking them off the tree. There were five or six varieties when I was there and the prices were very good. I took a pack home in my suitcase and all of my clothes smelled gloriously like apples when I got home! What a magical little farm!

Amazing spot! Beautiful views, great store with local gifts, swing set for the kiddos, fire pit, lots of picnic tables, hot cider...oh, and the Dreamee! Maple creemee on hot cider donut and just as delicious as it sounds. We were too late in the season to pick much but it was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon with a toddler.

Yelp
I can't say enough about Yates!! Our second day in VT we HAD to go check out Yates! Highly highly recommend!!! Had the most AMAZING CREAMEE!!! Oh how I will crave those!! The perfect fall atmosphere! I felt like I was in a hallmark movie! Everyone was so kind and welcoming! An absolute adorable place to go apple picking, grab a treat and sit by the fire with a creamee and a hot apple cider! That's exactly what I did! So peaceful and relaxing! The rooftop deck was really nice too with great views! I'm so happy to have found you guys on Instagram before going to VT so I could add you to our to do list! Oh and make sure you check out the little gift shop!!! I purchased a bu ch of maple candy hearts and the maple cream (good lord, delish!!!!)

Yelp
Easy to access. Amazing prices. Amazing apples. But I mean it when I say that I have never in my life eaten a more delicious donut. I will be back for the donuts alone. SO SO GOOD. Also this might sound weird but I have never been in a cleaner portapotty haha. It smelled nice and was a spotless -- a very nice surprise!

Yelp
As another Yelper said, this orchard has hands down the best cider donut I've eaten in Vermont. They make them per order, so they're as fresh as possible and you can taste the cider, like you're supposed to. They also sprinkle cinnamon sugar on them, adding even more flavor. It's a beautiful orchard with so many apple varieties, including some that you won't find elsewhere. They have cherries, berries, peaches, too. The owner too is lovely, friendly, and quite helpful. In their little store, there are homemade pies, relishes, jams, preserves, local raw honey, maple cream, barbecue and tomato sauces, etc. as well as artisan crafts from area artists. The Dreamees are donuts à la mode; I think the creemee lacks the full fat flavor I'm used to, but it's tasty with the donut. They have live music events, too. It's well worth multiple visits. I'll be back

Yelp
Went for apple picking all the way from HI. We were the first customers of the 2022 apple season. Owners were down to earth and we had good conversation with them. The apple orchard is huge! There are many different kinds of apples and you pay different prices for either the regular or premium category. My favorite, the Zestar, is premium. You pay by the pound. After, we enjoyed Dreamies and Supremies which are made to order AC donuts w soft serve. The Supremie is all that plus apple pie filling and caramel sauce. Very yummy. Bought lots of goodies for back home. If you're ever in VT, make sure to add this to your list.

Yelp
Cute, small family owned spot. Apple picking was plentiful. Donuts were amazing, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, plus warm and fresh. Creamees were delicious in the maple flavor. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Parking area is small but should not be an issue. They accept credit card. Would recommend.

Yelp
I would like to thank the Donut Gods for the clearly marked signs that pointed us towards this amazing family owned orchard. Because - FRESHLY FRIED TO ORDER CIDER DONUTS! Theirs was the best cider donut I have ever had. Ever. Made to order, right in front of our faces. Dredged in cinnamon by friendly, caring hands. Powdered sugar optional!! Crispy edges, fresh cake donutty middle, cinamonny enough even for my love of everything cinnamon. When you park in the lot & walk down towards their store, you can see the you-pick apple orchard. So many apples!! We were greeted by a sweet doggo, & a warm woman - who said "We believe donuts should be hot & fresh here!" as she made ours. Of course besides the cider donut, I was also drawn in by these beautiful mini PIES. We got 2, and as soon as we tried them, we kicked ourselves for not getting MORE: Plum Crumble Peach Cardamom It was very hard to pick a fave. Crumble topped each, the crusts were GREAT, they were filled with what seemed to just be totally naturally sweet fruit. I mean, I assume there was sugar in it - but it was the perfect amount to only enhance the fruits, not overwhelm them. The peach pie had vanilla & the slightest hint of cardamom - like the cardamom fairy beat her wings and left a bit of sparkle behind. Damn that was DELICIOUS pie. Clearly made with love! (I imagine it was made by the hands of the lovey woman who helped us!) We also got a little jar of strawberry jam. All the jams said they were made with a process that only required a low amount of sugar. Like the pie fillings, the jam was just perfectly lightly sweet - better than the "all fruit" jams that are still overly sweetened by concentrated grape juice. Donutty, fruity heaven!!! My only regret is that I didn't get a "Dreamee" - a hot, fresh cider donut, topped with creemee!! Highly, HIGHLY recommend!!!

Yelp
A nice experience. It's small, but they are nice, and a great one hour stop. We had maple creamees, cider, and cider donuts. All were excellent. And I was able to buy one of several different varieties to sample, which was interesting. We didn't pick our own, since we had no good way to fly with them back home. But it was a peaceful spot. We played cornhole and just sat at the picnic table enjoying the tasty treats. Owners were especially friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Yates Family Orchard is great! Cider donuts made to order, large apples, delicious cider. My new "go to" Orchard for apples in the Fall!
