"A Thai Beach Club in Oslo? Why, Yes! If you happen to visit Oslo during the colder months and find yourself longing for a tropical break, Yaya’s is the place for you (there are three of them, dotted around central Oslo). Decorated to look like a beach club in Thailand, customers sit on plastic chairs, and get sand beneath their feet. Bamboo counter tops and waiters in flip flops make the experience even better, not to mention the hourly thunderstorm complete with lightning and the sound of heavy rain."

Well, let's just say this is the place to go to. I've been to heaps of places in Thailand and lived there for over a year in many different places. No, not Pattaya. The Tom Yum held a really high Thai standard, as did the papaya salad and spring rolls. The curry was a bit too salty, but with loads of rice it all concluded as a very nice experience. The interior and the monsoon rain experience added greatly to a nice evening. Cute and friendly staff, I already miss them! I hope my next Tom Yum will be in Oslo, not in Thailand.

They spoiled our evening by making us sit in front of ladies toilet. I suppose they are saving good tables for their special guests. We had to leave food in half way as people were using toilets continuously and it made us very uncomfortable. I would have rated this place zero if the option was available. We wasted our 650 NOK to just to sit in front of toilet.

The thai style interior is definitely fun and over the top :) The food is amazing. If going there on Friday or weekend, do book a table in advance. Don't you hope to drop in and be seated.

Good food and dessert. But what really gets you going back is the expetience! The whole restaurant looks like a outdoor restaurant in Thailand. Very tropical! And every hour or so, the lights go of and you hear thunder. It really sets the experience.

We went with three kids on a Saturday, not anything to recommend. The service was slow, we had to get up and call the waiter to order more food and a second time to have the table cleaned. It's sad that the gimmicky and fun atmosphere is ruined. They need to get more attentive staff or fewer tables.

Thai restaurant aiming for the authentic bungalow experience, tropical "storm" and all (soundand light effects). Food is OK. Service quick and effective.
