My girlfriend and I recently visited Ye Olde Ferrie Inn for a nice Valentine's 2025 dinner, it exceeded expectations! I came here for dinner back in 2015 as a 13 year old, and am now 22 years old with a better memory of my meal. There is an amazing range of drinks on menu, as well as options for food. My girlfriend has the haddock, perfectly breaded and cooked, she loved the chips! I had the venison, a great, hearty meal accompanied with bread and butter. We shared the pigeon starter to try it, and then both wishes we had two servings of it each, it was absolutely amazing! Cannot fault the staff, service, food, drinks, location, and establishment, such a perfect night. We did not stay here so cannot rate the rooms! Though I'd love to give them a go!:)

Had two visits to Ye Old Ferrie Inn while on a long weekend break in February. Got a warm welcome from the bar staff and also the locals. Would recommend the food here, including the Sunday roasts. Thank you for the great atmosphere and wonderful views of the Wye River. Would love to visit you again when in the area.

Lovely pub and restaurant. Right on the river. Very dog friendly. Good range of drinks and food. River crossing closed during the winter due to high water levels. We did not stay overnight so can't comment on the rooms.

Thank goodness for YOFI We would have had nowhere to eat if it hadn't been for them. We were staying at a lovely cottage along the same bank. We hadn't been advised that the ferry was out of action (yet again!! apparently) We'd arrived and had a celebratory drink assuming we would use the ferry to go and eat at the pub across the river. Then we found the ferry wasn't in action, none of us could drive as we'd already had a drink - thank goodness for the YOFI which we used for the rest of our stay. Great location, great food, lovely staff ❤️

Lovely place to stay: spent two nights here in Doward room. Beautiful views of River Wye: quiet and peaceful, comfortable room. Food is really great quality, service is exceptional. All staff were welcoming, friendly, attentive and very professional in their work.

Booked a table for my family to eat here on NYE. We selected 6.15pm, and no time restraints were mentioned on the website. We arrived to be met with "you only have your table until 7.45". Not the leisurely meal we hoped to enjoy on NYE. We were seated in a very drafty corner of the pub, and given that we only had the table for a very limited time, I was surprised it took the staff over 15 minutes to come back and take our food order. I asked whether we should order at the bar and were told no, someone would come to us. The menu was limited but we all managed to find something we liked. The food was decent quality and price was top end. Whilst still eating dessert, a waitress came over to say they needed our table. She then appeared with the bill and card machine, and stood there whilst we finished. I would suggest the importance of highlighting how short a time you get at your table, on the website, and then if people want a leisurely meal they have the opportunity to book elsewhere. We did not have this opportunity, given that we'd already driven to the middle of nowhere, down a narrow track, on NYE when it was too late to book elsewhere or go anywhere else.

Yelp
Established 1473. This place is worth the drive down roads barely wide enough for one car to pass. It is a beautiful setting on the side of a Hill overlooking the River Wye. The food menu was quite extensive with light items, such as flatbreads, all the way to poached Salmon or slow roasted pork belly. Being a bit pushed for time, we opted for burgers. The burgers were an odd grind of beef with a different seasoning... not great. The bar was pub like with a good selection of beers -- and was also my only complaint about the place, the snooty, impatient bartender was bit hard to take. Although my wife was ready to walk out after dealing with him, we didn't let him ruin our visit to this otherwise exceptionally beautiful place. If you go, take time to go kayaking on the Wye, or take a cruise on the river boat. This place deserves 5 stars just for the beauty, however, the barkeep just about ruined our visit, and the food we had was not exceptional -- keeping in mind that burgers, I'm sure, aren't their forte.

We stayed here on a three day kayak down the Wye River and would highly recommend stopping in for a night or even just an ale. Jamie, with his generous hospitality and good humour, will make you feel immediately welcome at his lovely spot on the river. The food's great, staff friendly and we slept soundlessly. Simple, rustic, charming.
