Ye Su Wen trip / THE LEAF INN

Don’t be mistaken from the outside. Looks a bit old and decrepit but completely different on the inside. Funky industrial looking hotel. Clean and fresh. Reception area/ bar was lovely. Quirky stuff to look at. Lovely art work Rooms were huge. We had deluxe room. Beds so comfortable and huge. Staff were lovely. Very good English. Only negative was it was too far from the lively area. Not manh choices of restaurants close by.

Horrible on the outside, funcky on the inside. The hotel looks so horrible on the outside that it is hard to imagine that one has arrived at the right place. This is also because the name of the hotel is not clearly visible on the outside. The inside however is rather funcky, with art, different types of furniture, a old motor bike and car, and a rabbit to wonder over. No TV, but an overhead projector instead, no carpet, but concrete on the floor, no cabinet, but a rack for hanging your clothes. The breakfast is a no choice, but good one, served by the friendly staff that are also manning the reception. The location is a bit far from the center, but to counter that, one can take one of the bike and then it is 15 minute ride. The big plus of the location is that there is plenty of parking space, both at the parking next door and on the curb side. If a bit alternative is not your style, then skip this hotel.

Nice hotel the rooms are designer of you get the hotel room on sale is worth one night. It's off the path the couch to watch TV is uncomfortable and there is no where to put your toiletries on the sink and no where to put your luggage I guess art people don't have any luggage. The staff is a bit pretentious and the breakfast is small with prosses cheese bread.

Overall satisfying concerning its price range. Decent atmosphere everywhere. Cons: Room rate was quoted wrong in the first place. When I called back to book the room he then said it should be NTD 400 higher. Upon booking I was told the top floor (3rd floor) had much better ocean view and so I chose that room. However you don't really get to see any.

This review is for the coffee shop hiding behind the leaf in. It is well worth discovering! Walk through the entryway of the leaf inn and you will see the coffee shop behind. It used to be a factory of some kind, but has been converted into a huge, yet cozy, art space and coffee lounge. The menu is small but everything is very reasonably priced, especially so for Hualien! The "reused" materials decor is very chic and appealing without being pretentious. It is a truly lovely little hidden gem! Suitable for intimate get togethers or even large crowds!

Small boutique hotel that definitely deserve A for their thoughts and design. Very environmental conscious, they reused as much material from the original structure and transformed them to other usable items (e.g. Table, chairs) Similar to B&Bs, breakfast are made and is usually American style. The staff are helpful with queries and request, and definitely proud about their establishment. They are happy to share origins of each corner of the hotel. All you have to do is just ask.

Sometimes there are really positive surprises while travelling and The Leaf Inn is one of them! Lobby area has art exhibitions and collection of old vehicles. They also sell nice local beers. Very hipster, in a very positive way. Rooms are also nice and felt quite unique. Bit keep in mind, it's a bit of walk away from the centre of Hualien, especially if it rains.

The Leaf Inn is a small, cosy and homely place. It’s interior is detail oriented and definitely picture worthy. The staff is friendly and is always there to help you in any way you need! Because it’s such a small place, breakfast is made for each individual to enjoy. Plus it actually tastes really good! 👍🏻 It is a place I won’t forget and will come back to when I visit Hualien again!! ❤️❤️
