Yellow Bernard

Yellow Bernard has quickly become one of my favourite places to visit. The coffee is always excellent - smooth, flavourful, and consistently well-made however what really sets YB apart is the staff. They don’t just serve coffee - they genuinely care about whether you enjoy it. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, whether you’re grabbing a quick takeaway or settling in for a relaxing moment. If you’re looking for great coffee made with real care, YB is the place to go. Highly recommended - you will be glad you stopped in!

It’s officially settled—Yellow Bernard brews the best coffee in Hobart! After countless disappointing cups around the city, we finally stumbled upon this little coffee haven, and wow—our taste buds rejoiced! Despite only having piccolo & cappuccino, we have served with the best too.

Excellent coffee. Went there once got a great coffee great service even got some directions for my journey. Following day the gentleman Barista remembered my order which was very impressive. Great stuff

I'm a regular at another coffee place in town so didn't really want to give you guys a five star review (because loyalty 🫡) but I gotta be honest...the coffee you served up took me back to Paris- at considerably less cost than what the airfare would be! Many thanks and highly recommended 🙏

You have to get your coffee in Hobart from YB! Staff are outstanding, remembering coffee orders and your name! Can’t wait to return for my next Fast Eddie!

Spent 20mins here during the morning rush and couldn't help but notice that all their customers were absolutely beaming. Coffee was the best I've had in TAS.

Had a recommendation to go here, passed a few other coffee shops on the way but stuck to the course and am glad it paid off. On arrival it was pumping, the two baristas were pushing orders through and it was great coffee. They knew the regulars by name and order, even remembered me after two visits. Although a smaller shop it has bar seating inside with a few tables outside. Keep cups are accepted and they use 5senses beans so definitely on the favorites list.

I was running late for an appointment so I told them just to forget about my order but the lovely man behind the counter made my drink on the spot for me so I didn’t have to wait! Lovely service and a lovely drink thank you!

I'm sticking with my originally-allocated four stars, but they're mostly for Yellow Bernard's macarons. I had a cherry cola one a couple of weeks ago and I can't stop thinking about it, which is kind of embarrassing. It may be the best macaron I've ever had, and I've had a lot of macarons. If this review were for the coffee only, I'd have to go with three stars. On some days, the coffee is DELICIOUS. On other days, it's average--or even sub-par. The best coffee places are those that pump out reliably delicious coffee on a consistent basis, and Yellow Bernard has been pipped at the post since I've moved down here.

The coffee was really good, flavorsome and hot, exactly what was needed on a cold, wet and windy Hobart spring day! The staff were friendly and focused on getting the coffees out fast. An amazing hole-in-the-wall type operation that was all about the coffee. I loved it

I sought this place out because I'd been told it's the best for coffee in hobart. Glad I did because it was pretty darn good. It's a serious coffee place so not much in the way of food, the odd macaroon and what not but really this place is all about the black gold. Friendly and quick service - they know what they are doing and passionate about it to boot. More of a takeaway joint but there are a few seats outside.

Brilliant! There is something different about the house blend of coffee from this cute little place that would make be come back every day if I was a local! Was very disappointed to find them closed on Saturday morning before my flight out.

Weak. The coffee we had here was that one word. Weak. Its really sad to say given everyone seems to have had awesome coffees here based on blogs and Yelp reviews. The photos we saw on their website also made it so appealing. However, when we got our coffees, flat whites, they tasted more like lattes. There was no crema as we'd seen on the website and the care in pouring the coffee was not found. We were so excited to try this place and we were going to give it another go the next day but ran out of time. Had better coffees in Hobart than this place.

Brilliant coffee from a cute hole-in-the-wall. I especially recommend the iced coffee :)
