What an amazing hotel. We had our reservations when we first booked with it being only a "3 star" hotel but as soon as we got there all our worries left. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and helped us from the off. The room was of an outstanding quality, huge big comfy bed, really good powerful shower with really hot water. The cleanliness of the room was exceptional and our cleaner was lovely. The location is ideal, right on the corner of st Lawrence gap with so many places to eat and drink around you. It can be quite a lively location with the live music coming from the dive club next door but we didn't mind it. We will definitely come back! We saw so much wildlife from our balcony too including humming birds, frogs, crabs etc.

I returned to Yellow Bird for a week and it was perfect. First of all Monique welcomed me warmly & acknowledged I was a returning guest. I even received a nice return gift which I wasn’t expecting. I stayed in room 201 which happened to be next to the room I stayed in for my previous visit but was just as nice and provided just as great a view. The room had all the amenities required and supplied converter plugs complimentary with a deposit. I even contemplated ‘accidentally losing’ it and bringing it home on purpose as it was so cheap compared to buying one in the UK. In any event the food was brilliant but (like with most of the island) I did have to wait a little while for it to be prepared and it was well worth it. The gap was not overly busy which was nice and we certainly made the most of it, hitting the beach, local diners and of course the Jet Skis and water sports. Various family members have come to this island over the last few years often staying here. For me it’s the personal touch that keeps me coming back. The staff always being able to have a chat, laugh and offer some genuine advice. I’ve never been ‘sold’ just any old excursion for the sake of it but anything I have done that was suggested was always in line with my suggestions. I’ve no doubt I will be back.

We stayed in a fourth floor suite at the Yellow Bird on our dive vacation; it was spacious and clean. The location is very convenient to excellent restaurants farther down the street. The staff was wonderful and everything was easy. We ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant every morning before diving, and they took good care of us. Very nice hotel, top notch staff. We'd stay there again. There is no elevator, so book a lower level room if stairs are a problem for you.

Great small hotel. Excellent sincere service. Fabulous views from the room balcony over the bay with iconic moored fishing boats. Good location for bars and restaurants along the Gap. Real value for money. Others comments about noise at night must be from very light sleepers

This was my second stay at The Yellow Bird and, again, it was wonderful. Its position in The Gap is ideal, opposite a small bay and within easy walking distance two beaches and all the restaurants. The rooms are large, with a nice kitchenette, comfortable beds and lovely balcony. Everything is exceptionally clean and the restaurant food and drinks are excellent and good value. But what really sets this place apart is the amazing staff. From reception, to housekeeping, restaurant and maintenance, they all go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. Special shout outs to Monique, Michelle, DeShaun, Sophia, CarolAnn and Anderson. Thank you for all of your help and care. If visiting Barbados, then this is the place to stay.

Really nice small hotel with amazing water views. Staff at front desk are extremely accommodating and helped us with booking a car rental as well as a catamaran boat trip (which was great as well with Tiami). Thanks Monique and all for a great time. ||As others may have mentioned the hotel is near bars which can have loud music on busy nights. For us, Friday was the louder day. Not a big deal for us, but something to be aware of. The hotel does have a relationship with the bar and can ask to turn the music down :)

Visited here twice during our week long stay at Time Out hotel for the cricket World Cup. By far and away the best cooked breakfast we had on the island. Very chilled surroundings and the staff are brilliant.||Try it yiu will not be disappointed. 👍||PS-Carolanne we passed on your message to Irwin. He was slightly concussed but appreciated you thinking of him! 😅

We stayed at the Yellow Bird in April when we came to Barbados for our honeymoon, and we knew to expect good things based on the previous reviews, however this hotel blew us away. It’s in a perfect location with beautiful views of St Lawrence Bay from every room, and ideal for heading out to the bars and restaurants. Every single member of staff made us feel so welcome, everybody is so friendly and caring, when you leave you feel like you’re leaving friends behind. The Yellow Bird was perfect for everything we needed, chilled delicious breakfasts, a calm base within walking distance to top spots and a bus stop on the corner for those further away places, and exceptionally clean rooms. ||I unfortunately sprained my ankle while in Barbados, but having the staff cheer me on, smile with me through the pain and encourage me with each day how it got better made it seem not quite so bad! This was our first time to Barbados and the Yellow Bird but we will absolutely be back! We could not recommend this hotel enough.
