This was such an amazing experience with YELLOWKNIFE TOURS!! Verda was prompt and very friendly when she picked us up at the hotel. During the 15 - 20 minutes ride to the Aurora Station/Edonah Kennel, Verda was even giving us a quick tour and some interesting history about Yellowknife. In the kennel, we were able to relax and prepare in their cozt cabin where Cynthia and her team gave a very quick briefing on the mushing experience. THE DOGS WERE ADORABLE AND SO LOVEABLE! You can tell that this tour group and kennel really takes care of the dogs. The experience in itself was amazing and it felt like a dream come true! After about 25 minutes of mushing, we were able to take photos and pet the dogs. From there, we were able to head to the cabin to wrap up the experience with some hot chocolate. We were judst about 9 people in total for the hour group (2 parties only) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YELLOWKNIFE TOURS and I can't wait to go back to yellowknife and book an entire trip with my family with Yellowknife Tours care of Verda!

Amazing people and excellent service. I chose the Diamond 4D/3N package and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Despite my flight from Calgary being delayed by 5 hours, Verda gave me a very warm welcome at the airport. I enjoyed three nights of full northern lights viewing, both by bus and at the Aurora Station. Huge thanks to Ivan and Angus—special appreciation for the helpful tips on time-lapse photography. The daytime tours were equally memorable, with dog sledding led by Christy and ice fishing with Vick. Both experiences were wonderful and offered plenty of great photo opportunities. I highly recommend Yellowknife to anyone hoping to see the northern lights—it truly has one of the highest chances of aurora sightings in the world. I was lucky enough to witness breathtaking displays on all three nights, with vibrant green lights dancing across the sky on the final night. Yellowknife Tours would be my recommendation for anyone wants to visit the NWT, Canada. Great job to the entire team—keep up the excellent work. Thank you!

Highly recommend!! Angela, Verda, Angus, Haylee, Jamie, Ivan, Joey! Fantastic team! Our flight got delayed twice and the team worked hard to re-organise our 5 night trip to 3 nights. So much so we got a private town tour by Verda. I was worried that the tours were mostly going to be in mandarin, but everything was in English. They also translated to mandarin to those who don’t speak English. We chose this company because it had everything we wanted to do: Aurora every night, snowmobiling, dog sledding, ice fishing, city tour and nature gallery (so great to learn about the history / natives / animals and landscape). The only thing that was frustrating for me was when I replied to emails they sent me, some of them would bounce back. I would have to go back onto the website to submit a reply. Thank you again for making us feel so welcomed! Such a friendly and overall an excellent experience for us.. if only we were there for more nights! Also, these guys were the first tours in Yellowknife so they knew what they were doing - best place to eat and places to visit (cozy cabin / aurora station etc).

5-Star Experience with Yellowknife Tours – Highly Recommended! My friends and I recently joined a 4-day, 3-night aurora tour with Yellowknife Tours in Yellowknife, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The service was outstanding – right from arrival, there was someone waiting at the airport to pick us up and transfer us directly to the hotel. Everything was perfectly prepared in advance, including the itinerary and rental winter gear to keep us warm. Our guides, Saxon and Phyllis, took excellent care of every member in the group. During the daytime activities, Phyllis led the tours and provided clear, detailed explanations about Yellowknife’s history, as well as the lives, customs, and culture of the Indigenous people – it was incredibly informative and engaging. For the nighttime aurora chasing, both Phyllis and Saxon worked tirelessly to find the best spots, doing everything possible to ensure we saw the Northern Lights. They helped capture many stunning, clear photos of the aurora – Phyllis in particular took some amazingly sharp and beautiful shots! The dog sledding activity was a truly unique and thrilling highlight – so much fun and unforgettable. The glass-making workshop was equally enjoyable, allowing us to create our own one-of-a-kind handmade glass souvenir. This aurora trip offered multiple ways including Cozy Cabin, Aurora By Bus and Aurora Station to view and appreciate the lights, making it an extraordinary and non-ordinary adventure. Yellowknife Tours’ arrangements were thoughtful, professional, and seamless throughout. I would definitely recommend them to all my friends!

We joined the 4D3N Diamond Tours and had a wonderful experience. Yellowknife Tours is very thoughtful and well organized. Our guide Vicky was kind, passionate, and attentive throughout the trip. Her city tour introductions were excellent and engaging, making the tour both informative and fun. Guides Christy and Hailey also did an amazing job, they stayed outside to monitor the sky so we could wait indoors comfortably, and they took many photos for all of us in the extreme cold of –30°C. We would also like to thank Verda for her thoughtful arrangements. Some members of our group were coming from another city, but unfortunately their flight was cancelled and they missed the original pickup time for the night aurora activity. Verda arranged another driver to pick them up at around 11:30 pm, allowing them to join us and share an unforgettable night together.🧡 The tour took us to different locations to experience the aurora in various settings, allowing us to enjoy and appreciate the northern lights in many different ways. The daily activities were also very well planned and enjoyable. 💛💛💛

Our 3 days with Yellowknife Tour were absolutely perfect from start to finish. Everything was incredibly well organized, which made the whole experience stress-free and truly enjoyable. The clothing rental is a huge plus — warm, high-quality, and essential for fully enjoying the experience in such extreme conditions. We were lucky enough to witness absolutely fabulous northern lights, far beyond our expectations. It was magical and unforgettable. A very special and warm thank you to Verda, Angela and the entire team for their kindness, professionalism, and great energy. They truly made this trip exceptional. We couldn’t recommend Yellowknife Tour more highly — an amazing experience we’ll remember forever!

We availed of a 2N private tour of the Aurora chase last Nov 24-26 with Verda and they did not disappoint. In fact they exceeded our expectations - from the very personalized service of our fantastic Aurora chase tour guide, Saxon. He was very informative and entertaining. He really went out of his way to ensure that we got the most out of the experience and he also took excellent photos and videos of the whole experience. We also enjoyed our private city tour by Vicky. She was very jolly and we really enjoyed her enthusiasm in explaining the highlights of the city. We did not expect to enjoy the city tour since it was very cold and started to snow a bit - but she really made the tour interesting and engaging. She even recommended a very good Vietnamese restaurant for our lunch. THANK YOU Verda, Saxon and Vicky for an epic tour of a lifetime. ✨ 😊

We joined a 5D4N tour in late September 2025. Yellowknife Tours is a good choice for those who want a fruitful visit and unforgettable memory in Yellowknife. They have experienced tour guides to show you around the city. They are friendly, helpful and attentive to everyone. I was impressed by Angela because of her thoughtfulness. She asked the driver to drop off the tour members at the front door of the hotel when the driver stopped the van at the street near the hotel. She reminded the driver that tour members’ safety is a top priority. Also we met Verda, the owner of Yellowknife Tours, is cheerful and nice. I could feel her passion even though I just talked a bit with her. When we arrived at the airport, they gave us the itinerary with the pickup time and all the details. The next day, we visited Legislative Assembly, Northern Heritage Center, Pilot’s monument, the Great Slave Lake and the home of Dene people. We had Vicky to be our guide that day. She is professional and attentive even she got her leg sprained the day before. She comprehensively explained the history and culture of Yellowknife and the indigenous people. She is familiarised with almost everything of the places we visited. I really learned a lot. Also, we went hiking and picnic in Cameron Falls with another guide Angus. He’s caring and looked after each of us. The view is stunning there and we enjoyed it so much. Last but not least, they brought us to a different site to wait for the northern lights every night. We went to lakes, cabin and aurora station. We were so lucky! The northern lights were right above us nearly every night we spent there. The guides helped us take a lot of great photos with their professional cameras and efficiently emailed them to us that night! The cozy cabin owned by Tracey is awesome. She served us with freshly made bannock and fish chowder soup which were really tasty even though I’m not a big fan of fish. So I will definitely recommend my friends and family to join their tour.

Yelp
Yellowknife Tours is a well organized tour operator for those who would like an opportunity to see the Northern Lights/Aurora Borealis and who are also able to easily cater to Cantonese, Mandarin, and English speaking travelers. It was a wonderful opportunity for my family to enjoy sightseeing without requiring one of us to be a translator. Everything was organized and nicely spaced out to give our family some rest between activities and also to recuperate from the late nights chasing the lights. The years of experience their drivers have in understanding and chasing the Northern lights, especially Dan, was invaluable and fun to experience. There guides, especially Renee, were all wonderful, courteous, and on top of everything. I would not hesitate to recommend Yellowknife Tours to anyone looking to experience the lights in Canada.

Yelp
We used Yellowknife Tours for renting winter gear for a couple of days. We have come to know the staff to be very friendly and helpful. It was nice to get top of the line clothing and boots for our three-day stay in Yellowknife. At -30C it's important to keep yourself warm. They can easily be found in the Center Square Mall.
