My dad and I went to this restaurant as we wanted to have a "night out on the town" at an upscale restaurant with "fancy" wine and dishes. We considered the bison meals but instead got the sirloin dinner. We had absolutely delicious appetizers and our dinner was beyond delicious!!! Megan was our server and she was so attentive and absolutely amazing to me and my Service Dog. She brought him water and was careful where we were placed so he could lay on his mat comfortably and not get stepped on by staff or other customers. I am a picky wine drinker and she spoke with the head cook and other staff to ensure my wine would be exactly what I was looking for. I have a multitude of allergies and specific dietary needs. Megan spoke with the head cook and ensured my meal was perfectly prepared and that I was not at risk for cross contamination. The view was absolutely beautiful and the atmosphere in the restaurant was amazing as well! Megan wrote me the sweetest note before we left that had me tearing up. Which is a really big deal so I am diagnosed with disassociative disorder and PTSD so most the time I'm very emotionally unavailable and distant towards other "humans". At the end I ordered several delicious desserts as well. I absolutely fell in love with this restaurant and the staff. I can't wait to go back there again! Hopefully for my birthday in October!!!

This was a last minute booking that we did to stay with our pets and we checked in late night. It was a great surprise after we woke up. The view was amazing as we are surrounded by the mountains all around, sunrise as we walked out in the backyard over the mountains in the morning and sunset in the front of the room. Our room was right by the Yellowstone River. Kevin, Danielle and everyone are very friendly and amazing. Food was excellent. We had a Filet Au Poivre and Rack of Elk. Both were excellent as well as our waitress Megan. Downside is the bugs and critters that are unavoidable. Overall it's an amazing experience.

Awesome venue and location. We were craving something good to eat and stumbled upon Yellowstone Valley Grill. Turns out to be a cool lodging area and great restaurant with a view. The restaurant has large, open windows to enjoy the Montana Mountains and see the wildlife around the property. I enjoyed the Steak frites and nutella crepe and my husband had the Elk rack and huckleberry cheese cake. The steak and cheesecake are definitely worth getting. The portion size of the elk and the crepe were a bit underwhelming. However dinner was executed well and the ingredients all tasted fresh. Service was really slow. It did get to a point where it looked like a lot of tables either needed their bill, water, or orders to be taken and filled but was not happening. We enjoyed our dinner and sitting outside by the fire pit but the service was a tad bit too slow for us.

I don’t give 5-stars often. We came here for dinner. We had the filet—medium rare, a Caesar salad, the crab cake, and the chocolate cake. Everything was so delicious. Our server was stellar. This was quite a pleasant experience.

Beautiful view. Exceptional service. Exquisite meal. I am absolutely floored by the quality and flavor of our meals. Party of four ordered artichoke appetizer cooked absolutely perfectly. Delicious butter lemon Parmesan sauce. We also had baked Brie and a beet salad. For main course we had steak frite halibut scallops and walleye we had cheesecake and the most perfect fresh mint ice cream I have ever had. I tasted everything and would eat it all again. fresh ingredients that were prepared wonderfully. I cannot rave enough about our experience. Our server Michelle was so helpful and attentive and I will definitely go again.

My wife and made a return after 3 years and came back to another amazing meal. They have had 2-3 chefs in their interim but continue to push out a great product. Shannon was our server and she made the night with her authentic self. The service from start to finish was amazing. We split the caesar salad and chilled crab to start . Both were great but the crab stole the show. For entree we split the lobster pasta. Very unique dish; tasteful and rich. This is a must-go for anyone who enjoys gourmet food & visiting or living in Livingston or the Paradise Valley. We look forward to our return!

Our dinner last night was outstanding. There were four of us and we each had something different. My husband had the lobster pasta and ate every last bite. I opted for a house salad which was fresh and delicious. For my entree I enjoyed the vegetarian squash dish. Also delicious. Our teenage grands enjoyed a bison tenderloin and the filet. They were both happy! We appreciated the 16th birthday dessert and our fabulous servers!!! The views are breathtaking. Great well-chosen wine list! I highly recommend this spot!!!

Google
We had high hopes for Yellowstone Valley Grill after attending a wedding in October 2023, where the food was absolutely top-notch. Returning in September 2024, we were a bit disappointed with the experience, especially considering the high price point versus what we received. While our main dishes were yummy, the veggie sides were cold and undercooked, which was a letdown. However, the spectacular views and friendly staff still made for an enjoyable visit.

Yelp
Went on Mother's Day; needed reservations which I made a week early. Prime rib was the best ever! Highly recommend! The stuffed acorn squash was spot on. Beautiful setting.

Yelp
Early Birthday dinner here with friends and it was delish! The views, ambiance and service were outstanding! I had the macadamia crusted walleye and it was very good. My son had a ribeye that he took two bites of as it was a little too fatty but that's the risk you always take with ribeye. It's definitely worth the drive to experience this place. They have a great beer and wine selection and the views...oh the views!

Yelp
First, I love the staff here. They are professional, helpful and down to earth. Especially Lisa, the morning chef and Chris, our evening server. I didn't catch her name , but the server who is also the farmer who provided much of the fresh veggies, is a hoot! Now, the food and venue. This is a lodge and the dining room is small, mostly to support the patrons staying there. But it overlooks their property along the river. Beautiful. For a small fee paid in the office, you can join them for their breakfast buffet. Lisa made the most incredible cardamom rose doughnuts! I chose fluffy pancakes and their maple sausage. So good! After chatting with Lisa, we knew we had to come back for dinner. Theirs is a 5-star menu, snd one of the few where I could eat anything and be happy. We decided to try a lot of things on the appetizer menu. Chris said the chef is a wizard with soups and todays special was a cold asparagus soup. It was my favorite part of the meal! It was whipped to almost a pudding consistency - I know that sounds strange, but trust me, it was heaven! We tried the shaved beets with toast- the vinaigrette with pine nuts and cheese was so good! I had to try the mushroom pasta - I've never had such meaty mushrooms and I loved the variety they used. My husband had the fries, the duck tacos, and the trout appetizer. Yes, that was a lot! Then we ended with the green apple cobbler. The only item we might not try again was the trout- it was a little too bready for us. But dang - we were delighted overall. And they have a wonderful wine list. Sitting outside by the fire pit was a delight.

Yelp
Everything was absolutely amazing from the staff, the delicious meal, wine menu and breathtaking views! Such a gem!! We stayed in the perfect cabin on the river!! Will definitely be a guest again before we leave Montana!

Yelp
Celebrated our anniversary dinner and it was wonderful, warm greeting upon arrival , asked if we were celebrating we said yes. Our server Sage surprised us with glasses of bubbly and said follow me. She took great photos of us to capture the moment. Food was excellent! We ordered a course from every section per chefs recommendation and we are glad we did. Food was farm to fork and everything was so fresh and creative in in flavor and presentation.

Yelp
Amazing!!! We stayed in the cabins and went in for dinner (twice it was so good) Small town with not too many dining options but being a self acclaimed foodie from San Diego this is better than most! Must Try! Great service as well.

Yelp
Great food, service, and drinks. The menu has something for everyone and it's very composed and well executed. Also the wine list, especially by the glass, is very good. You can't beat the views of the Yellowstone river and backdrop of the Mountains. This place checks off all the marks for a wonderful dining experience.

Yelp
fabulous food, beautiful views, fantastic service. We tried the elk back strap, walleye, and lobster cannelloni and all were delicious.

Yelp
To quality food! Amazing montana cuisine! Everything we had was top notch! Definitely a must stop for elegant and delicious food. Our waitress blake was super sweet and informative of the food and of activities to do while in Montana. We love it here, definitely coming back.

Yelp
So disappointed. Our meal was shockingly awful. We look forward to special dinners here every summer as we enjoy a month or two in the valley. It has always been wonderful gourmet food. Last night there were no fruit or vegetable options. We had the trout appetizer. Big mountain of bread with a few bites of trout in sauce spread on top. Unable to cut it with the table knife. Very strange. Then the thin sliced beet choice. Beautiful but hard beets with vinaigrette and very scanty goat cheese... and more bread, toasted thin baguette slices were good. Hmm... The Delmonico steak...with too much blue cheese....small chunk of presumably beef, sliced and laying on the mashed potatoes. Not medium-med well...raw in the middle and tough. We ate two end bites and called it quits. We had planned on getting dessert but...we really hadn't even had dinner... I asked if there was a new chef. The waitress said yes. She took the uneaten plate back, We just got our check and left. She didn't charge us for the terrible entree. Very lovely setting on the river with mountains but...won't go back. So sad...

Yelp
Really bad. Limited menu. Badly presented. Will go back when there is a new chef and someone else as the Guinea pig

Yelp
We are from Chicago and were staying in Livingston, MT when we stumbled upon this gem. We actually went there on our last day, and we wished we had gone sooner...so we could have eaten there again! This is a 5-star restaurant that not only serves the most delicious, and creative combination of flavors of food, but the staff is 5-star too. We were greeted by Dani, the restaurant manager, and wife of the executive chef. She was such a delight and even joined us and chatted after all the other guests had left. Our waitress, Hannah, was excellent and with the way she described the food, I thought she was culinary trained! Then we had a special treat when Bobby came out from the kitchen to greet us and told us about their journey to MT. Robert "Bobby" Thoits is a brilliant gourmet chef with a passion for creating memorable and delicious dishes! They are Michelin Star worthy!!!

Yelp
I cannot believe I did not find a listing for this restaurant here. This is one of the most amazing restaurants I have ever been to. The food is fantastic, the ambiance amazing and the menu is truly something to be seen. Not what I expected to find in a Lodge in Montana. Fine dining, amazing tastes, great service, and what a view!

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in Park County, and some other counties, too! I've never had a bad meal here, and I'm excited to eat here every time. The wine menu is extensive, the meals prepared expertly, and the service is top notch. Great place.

Frank S.

Yelp
We loyal locals yearn for the amazing and imaginative cuisine from Marcos and Sari which ended in 2021 at the YVG. The new team tried (we went three times) but haven't measured up at all. So we stopped going and didn't return. A real pity, too.

Charissa R.

Yelp
There are great places to eat in our valley. This is, sadly not one of them. Poorly prepared food. Overcooked fish and mediocre chicken. Still a beautiful setting but not worth the money. Look elsewhere friends! Note: Many of the very positive reviews are not from this summer, when a new chef took over the kitchen.

Yelp
We are a Seattle family working from home during the pandemic. We rented a place in Emigrant for two weeks. We stumbled across this restaurant. We keep going back again and again for the take out. I can't get enough of their rib eye and my wife craves the lamb shank. Two big thumbs up for those old enough to know the cultural reference.

Yelp
I want to give this restaurant more stars! We stayed in Pray for two nights in September. First night we did a take out order as we didn't think they had indoor dining, they DO! (on the patio) and the second night we had a reservation at the restaurant. It is a small menu with unique food options and being in a group of 4 we tried EVERYTHING (I'm not kidding) on the menu and it was delicious! Marco the Chief does magic in that kitchen. From fresh raw sashimi to lamp chops to bison steak everything was just perfection! If you want to indulge your taste buds this is the place to be! YUM!

Vicki Z.

Yelp
We enjoyed a beautifully presented and absolutely delicious meal last night! The food is locally sourced and creatively prepared and delivered. Our waitress Sage was delightful. She was knowledgeable and an excellent source of information when deciding what to order. The food was incredibly flavorful and interesting. Make a reservation and enjoy an incredible meal! I will be back!

Hannah A.

Yelp
The food is delicious and the view can't be beat! The new menu options are impressive!

Yelp
We ate here today, June 15 2022. We have been to this restaurant many times in the past few years with great success. This was by far the worst meal I have had in my lifetime. Menu on website listed a ribeye steak at $48, but the updated one provided tonight had it listed as $71. 12 oz ribeye had more than half as fat and gristle. We complained and no effort was made to compensate for the terrible meal nor any apologies. I do NOT recommend this restaurant any longer.

Sean O.

Yelp
The absolute worst place I have ever been. They treated me and my family like we were nothing. The wait staff has a terrible attitude and would not allow us to even sit at a table because he was just ready to go. Told me I was not welcome there. Blows my mind.
