With the Yo Sushi soon coming back to Bath in the new train station, we visited Yen Sushi a week ago since we didn’t have a strong desire to eat too much for dinner. The food is still good quality and the sushi chef has been here for more than 6 years. However, we noticed that there might be changes in the management team. The lady who used to run this store hasn’t been seen, same as the other staff. I would like to have more new items to be introduced, the menu seems to have remained the same for quite a while. Nice environment and clean restaurant. I would recommend if you have the appetite for Sushi when you are in Bath. Card is accepted. Pls like my review if you’ve found it helpful :)

Google
I give this place a 4 start because I am not to sure how this fairs out with other sushi places in Bath, if there are any others. But that being said, this place was very good. We got a table on a walk-in basis but if you can, I’d recommend calling ahead. Their prices are very affordable and they were all very fast. They do have the aircon going to depending on how cold you get that might be something to consider. Enjoy!

Located in a small alley just outside the main town, Yen sushi was a great find. The staff were very welcoming. Food is great and just like a few other sushi restaurants, depending on the colour of plat you pick up determines it's price. For me and Mt partner we spent £50. The quality of food was great, although I feel the presentation of some dishes weren't great or consistent. You can also order hot food, the only thing I thought was weird is the waitress would bring empty plates with your hot food to represent its worth rather than just making a note to the table - this did take up space on the table which then made it a little tight for other orders. Despite the above this still a great visit. Be sure to drop by if your about. If your a regular sushi eater, you may the fish to lack in quality.

Yelp
Conveyor belt sushi with some hits, some misses and some bland. Highlights: calimari; fried chicken; and tofu kara age. Gyosa were bland and too crunchy; rolls a little messy. All in all, a quick lunch with a fair amount of choice. Tip: look at the menu for more choices, squid tentacles were delightfully crisp.

Yelp
Simply; my favourite restaurant in Bath. This traditional sushi restaurant makes a welcome change to the French Cuisine, Brassieres and pubs that you usually find in the city. The service is impeccably friendly and fast, the food is delicious and different and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. When you enter, you can choose whether to sit at the bar itself, or at one of the booths if you'd prefer to order from the menu. Personally, I like to order one of their huge Bentos boxes (the vegetarian Bento is my favourite) which contains a mixture of rice, sauces and vegetables. And, to finish off, I highly recommend a red bean bun with a green tea - delicious! A meal including a shared starter, mains, a pudding each and two jasmine teas set me back £20 which is an absolute bargain for the taste and quality of what we had.

Yelp
Excellent Kaiten Sushi (Sushi go Round) Also, the best Japanese Restaurant in the area. Not just Sushi since you can also get great Noodles (Ramen) - which is very authentic and has in my opinion a better taste to than that served at Wagamama. Sushi also has nice texture good taste and fish is fresh-the Sushi is made before your eyes. The plates on conveyor are constantly changing and of good variety. Priced from £1.50 to £4.00 per plate. Should say portion on plate is good to share. The restaurant is perfect if you are new to Sushi or an old hand since you can take a good look at the plate and then decide if you want to try it or not. Good restaurant for a variety of occasions and is also child friendly. The kids love it. Just need to watch they don't grab too many plates :)

Yelp
Pros: clean, cheap, and good vegetarian options Cons: Conveyor belt options were mainly salmon and seaweed, had to order mostly from the menu Sushi rice from off the menu had way too much sugar, also tasted a little bit dry and hard. Not as fresh as the conveyor belt sushi Nori was a bit soft from sitting around too long Overall average sushi taste

Yelp
SO GOOD. So so delicious. Workers were yelling at each other in Chinese, but what's good ethnic food without that? I had the chicken gyoza, teriyaki chicken, and Japanese rice. It was delicious. The workers who took our orders were really nice and genuine and didn't mind our questions. Great restaurant.

Yelp
Overall I think the food is really good! We liked the rainbow rolls, the shrimp tempura handrolls, and California rolls. I am impressed with it in a touristy town like Bath. The chef lady was also super friendly and efficient. I would recommend trying this place if you are looking at legit sushi.

Yelp
Yen Sushi was a fun experience- I'm a sucker for conveyor belts and sushi. The food was mouthwatering, but way too expensive for what it is. Each plate is tiny and costed around £4. That doesn't seem like a lot until you add it all up and realize that your individual bill was almost £40. I could have gotten the same amount of sushi at another restaurant for half the price. But overall, the food was yummy and freshly-prepared right in front of you.

Yelp
Great sushi!! Very friendly. Great location - steps from cty centre, but nice quiet pedestrian street. Not just sushi but great noodles and tea

Yelp
This place is the best! Me and my boyfriend go here all the time. If i havent had some Prawn tempura rolls (with sesame seeds) at least once a week i get withdrawal symptoms! The variety of the food is amazing and the chefs are brilliant at what they do. I'm even going tonight to pick some things up to take home and eat! Pure Heaven! Great staff. All i can say is Amazing! I'd feel lost without Yen Sushi! Thanks guys&girls! Alexandra

Yelp
Very good food and fair price. Fish was fresh and tasteful. Service was efficient. Place is relatively small, so tend to be a little packed.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! If you're sushi experiences have thus far been limited to the Yo! Sushi! chains and the little lunch packs you get in Tesco, then I highly recommend visiting this place for a refreshing surprise! Not that I particularly dislike the afore mentioned restaurant, but Yen Sushi is just a massive step up - and it's equivalent when it comes to pricing. The atmosphere in the place is fun and lively, so it's a great option if you're looking to dine out with a group of friends. Whenever I walk past it's always packed, though, so make sure you ring up before hand to ensure you can get a seat.

Yelp
The place is hugely overrated. I am no japanese food expert, but I can claim to be a bit of a connoisseur...I tried a few sushi/japanese places and restaurants in London, NY, Montréal etc, and (more importantly) I spent a few weeks in Japan. The rice was dry, japanese green tea was mediocre (tea bag, and not loose leaf tea), the fish albeit fresh was not prepared to the highest standards (not sliced and cut nicely). The venue looks cheap... it fundamentally looks like a student hangout. Overpriced. Next time II'll go to YO sushi, I'll get better value for money for my japanese food.

Yifei S.

Yelp
it's a very good japanese food. the boss is quite nice, and the taste never changes this year

James D.

Yelp
Love love love this joint. Yo Sushi doest touch it. It is no doubt a luxury as it ain't cheap, but I still think it represents good value. Oh and green tea is free.

Sarah B.

Yelp
A really traditional sushi place. The food off the belt is ok but if you know what to order then their written menu is yummy. Not the best decorated place but that doesn't impact the food!

Qype User (noneee…)

Yelp
This place is fantastic. The food is very fresh (as it must be for sushi), the chefs are great and the service is terrific. I go there at least every fortnight for lunch. I'd go every day if I could. If there is only a few of you, get a seat by the conveyor, or if there a more of you grab a table. Either way the selection is excellent and you can order anything that you can't see on the conveyor. The staff are really friendly, and especially helpful if it's your first time at a sushi restaurant. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you are not sure what to do. Paul

Yelp
We visited for our 5 year anniversary having been massive sushi fans. The service was friendly/excellent, the building was difficult to navigate around being disabled, but not their fault. The food was fantastic - beyond words! Recommended for any sushi fan, or even someone that fancies a change from the norm

Alex P.

Yelp
This is similar to yo! Sushi in London. Mediocre quality but not expensive. You get what you pay for. Perhaps, Bath is not really a good city for Sushi - there are many other great choices for a terrific meal.
