Beautiful Vinyard with celler door and restaurant. Simple elegant feels with vase space. We went to cellar door to get a cheese platter and a glass of wine as we arrived too early for our lunch booking. There are a small number of outside table for you to enjoy the cheese board and wine and it was super delicious. The celler door staff was super friendly and professional, compared to my recent visit to Pt.Leo celler door where staff would just ignored you. We then moved to the restaurant after we finished the cheese board. Lovely open space in the restaurant area with glass wall from floor to ceiling open to the landscape! I was going to do the 3 courses and finish with dessert to share with my partner but the food size was really substantial I was way too full and couldn't even finish my fish main. 😞 My entree of scallops with bacon was so good, a little too much of pumpkin. The barramundi with eels mashed was very tasty as well, but also feel like there are too many things on the plates. Overall I enjoyed my food. My husband entree was great but the main is a little bland. Definitely recommend the cellar door for wine tasting and cheese platter for chill out outdoor on a good sunny day 😎🌞

I was really excited for this one. We went for the wine tasting on a beautiful sunny day, the kind of weather that makes you want to be outdoors enjoying the view. Unfortunately, the tasting itself takes place indoors in a fairly dim room with very little natural light, which felt like a real shame. With such gorgeous surroundings outside, it seemed like a missed opportunity to create something special. During the tasting, four different staff members poured for us. Three of them asked what we had already been served, which made the whole experience feel a bit disorganized and not as smooth or welcoming as I was hoping for. The wine pours also felt quite small -more like a sip than a proper tasting- and I think most people would agree after seeing the photo I’ve attached. Inside, the décor follows a pop-art theme with Andy Warhol replicas. Normally, I appreciate that style, but here it felt completely unrelated to wine, wine tasting, or the heritage of the vineyard. Instead of enhancing the atmosphere, it actually worked against the rustic, old-world vibe that the place itself naturally carries. That said, the outdoor area is stunning. The grounds are well kept, with a beautiful grassy area out front and a lovely lookout point that really makes you stop and take it in. It honestly left me thinking how perfect it would be if the wine tasting were moved outdoors, perhaps with a small kiosk or bar set up in the middle of the lawn. With the sunshine, scenery, and a glass in hand, that would transform the experience into something unforgettable.

Had a great meal at Yering station. Great service beautiful views great menu and flavours. Everyone enjoyed every dish. Loved my prawn entree. The fish main was perfect. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Front of house Trixie was very professional. Wines were great. Deserts were delicious. Highly recommend will def return.

We had a very odd and dissapointing experience at the restaurant. We had booked lunch using a luxury escape voucher which included a main, choice of wine and two shared sides. The only positive was how well cooked the meats were and how tasty the wine was. Other than that, our experience was very strange. The strangest part or our experience was the use of potato off cuts in our roasted potato side - see picture below. I have never before seen potato fondant off cuts and bits of potato eye served to guests. It's really incomprehensible and unappetising. We ended up leaving the potato dish. The salad was also quite terrible - it literally looked like a Coles pre chopped salad mix that was topped with a few sprigs of dill and some goats cheese. The leaves were barely dressed and very plain tasting. Onto the main meals, which ended up being quite odd as well. The cuts of meat were very tasty and well seasoned. The biggest negative was the random pastry basket served with the pork and holding chopped apple. The basket was pale, undercooked and soggy. It didn't really add anything to the dish. The duck dish was also a bit odd with an undercooked cannelloni filled with pulled duck and cabbage. This was bland and underseasoned also. While both dishes looked pretty, they left much to be desired and not worth the cost or effort. Overall, we would not be back and we wouldn't recommend to others. There are much better choices in the Yarra Valley (and much better luxury escape deals as well). Be warned.

Wine tasting and lunch at Yering Station was one of the highlights of our Melbourne trip. I was delighted to try some delicious red wines and enjoy a wonderful lunch there. The beautiful surroundings, elegant décor, and friendly staff make it an outstanding restaurant and winery. Highly recommend.

You can't fault much here. The service, food and atmosphere is exceptional. However, there was a fault in the steak option that I paid extra for on top of what my parents had already paid for a 3-course meal. It might not seem like a big deal, but since I asked specifically for "true medium rare", not medium, which it ended up exactly being on my plate, that was disappointing, being such a high quality piece of meat. Other than that, it was an amazing lunch, and had me bursting at the seams. I could have just had the pork belly entree and pistachio dessert and been satisfied.

We got married at Yering Station in 2012 and it was spectacular. Could not recommend it highly enough. But today we went back for lunch to show our kids this incredible place 13 years after our wedding. The meal was amazing and the serves generous. The view and atmosphere are stunning. We had so much fun just hanging out after lunch - it was 5pm so we were pleasantly surprised to discover that the cellar door was open until 6pm. We went in for a tasting. WOW! The wines were so much better than we remembered, but even more wonderful was the experience. The beautiful staff not only made us feel welcome, they completely spoiled us with our tasting, bringing out a bottle of Chardonnay from the year we were married to taste then really engaging with us talking all things wine and life. The wines were delicious, the service was even better. Obviously we signed up for the wine family (which was more than worth it!). Thank you Yering Station for making my Mother’s Day celebration so special this year x

Had an amazing lunch at Yering Station today! The view over the vineyards was stunning, and the food was just as incredible. The beef was perfectly cooked and everything on the plate was full of flavour. The entrée was super pretty and tasty too. Great wine, lovely service, and a super relaxing vibe. Definitely one of the best lunch spots in Yarra Valley! 🍷🌿

Yelp
The food was extremely expensive, and very small portions. both My husband and I weren't impressed with the taste of the food.. a home made meal any day! We. ordered an entree with lamb which cooked and minced and looked terrible and the main meal contained duck which was dry ... we were with four others and it cost $230 per couple with two bottles of wine added and coffee afterwards ..the meal was two course costing 85 dollars each

Yelp
We are a party of six sitting next to the window with a panoramic view of the winery. For the entree, we have scallops, and for the main course, we have duck. The chef seared the scallops just right, and the presentation was excellent. The two pieces of duck were cooked to perfection. We had poached apples for dessert, and they were too pretty to eat because they were arranged like flowers. We have a bottle of reserved Pinot Noir, which perfectly matches the meal. The service was great, but I recommend a reservation because all the tables are taken.

Yelp
We had a fantastic lunch followed by a tasting here, as part of our tour with Vinetrekker. The property is lovely and the dining room offers quite a view as you eat, with it's floor to ceiling windows. We we there on a Sunday at 1pm, and though the restaurant was quite full, the staff was attentive and we neither felt rushed nor abandoned. The truffle butter than accompanied the bread was delicious and we ultimately all dipped the chips in it later. There were 7 different main courses and everyone at our table was happy, including the vegetarian. The cuisine was creative, well-presented, and filling enough to help counter all the wine. After lunch we went to the tasting room and had more of their wines. They offer a huge range, so there will certainly be something for everyone. The chardonnays are quite oaky, which I love (coming from California), and there was a mind-blowing Shiraz, but they also had Rose, Pinot Noir, Sparkling wine, etc. Bottles to take home range from $24-$120. The staff was friendly, engaging, and very knowledgable.

Yelp
This is a review about the food only. I have been to Yering Station about 8 times in the past 10 years and I must say the food has improved a lot this time round. We were given the wrong menu (the winter menu I believe) at first which really saddens me because there are quite a few things I wanted there (scallops, more ton bay bug entrees, brioche pudding which in hindsight was VERRRYYY weird to have in summer). But I did find a few gems in the summer menu. The miso trout was amazing, so was the barramundi with mussels. Hubby was equally impressed with the beef tartare and his beautifully medium rare steak. Hubby refuses to share dessert with me so we had to order two cookies and cream dessert which was, in hindsight, the best decision everrrrr because I most certainly did not want to share mine. What a great way to celebrate the new year!

Yelp
Lovely winery with a beautiful scenery! Food was very fresh and not like anything I've ever had before.

Yelp
I LOVE this place. Everything about it! From the rustic tasting room and produce shop to the modern new building where the restaurant and function area it. The wines are good and worth a taste but if you aren't a drinker it is still worth a visit. The newer building has floor to ceiling windows on one side that provide a breathtaking view of the valley and hills (I'm originally from the country and i still think it's magical). The food is delicious and features local produce.

Yelp
I came here for father's day and was blown away by the architecture of the place. It was so beautiful and well designed; we spent 20 minuets just strolling around the place before heading into the restaurant area. The dining hall was a giant glass box that looked out onto their lush green fields. The menu was simple, it could have done with a few more options, but is still fine without them. For entree I ordered the crab cakes (which I loved), followed by a fish for main. I'm not usually keen on fish, but this one went down a treat. I think their food was unique and definitely appetizing. For desert it was the mint opera cake, which was probably my highlight. There is a playground outside for children and helicopter landing space (if you were wondering where to park your chopper).

Yelp
On our adventure out to the wine region of Melbourne, we visited Yering Station (Where it all began apparently). Yering Station is a beautiful winery. The grounds are maintained to perfection and the buildings are architecturally heavenly. Some of them still standing from the early 1900's. You can actually stay at Yering Station, there is an 'incredible' hotel here. The hotel will only set you back about $1300 a night (Loose change for some of us i guess), we didn't get to view the hotel space but i'm sure for that price it must be something pretty life changing. Out of all the wines i did get to sample on the fine day in the 'green belt', Yering probably was the only winery where i didn't like a wine... well i didn't like any here. The assistant that was helping us with the tasting was chipper and friendly, she explained the wines really well but i just wasn't a fan. The winery had so much artwork around, sculptures, photography and painting littered the grounds. It was quite breathtaking. Come here for the Art and Gift Shop, better wine is not too far away

Yelp
Didnt get far enough to sample a food place for the review... any of the food places. I was confused by the parking lot situation and the conflicting signs (some acrossed from eachother). Multiple parking stations for multiple restraunts perhaps? But I couldnt find the one I read the review of and wanted to try So I got hangry and left.

Yelp
Little change since the last visit. Entrees had good flavors. We had the octopus, quail and scallops. The octopus was disappointing as the texture was not good. The scallops and quail was very good. Unfortunately all the entrees arrived lukewarm to cold. Disappointing. Don't know the reason why, maybe it's the front of the house. The meal was washed down with a decent Shiraz Viognier mix. For the mains, we had the angus eye fillet and lamb. Ordered medium and medium rare. They came out well cooked and salvaged what was a disappointing start. We decided against desserts to opt for the chocolate and ice creamery a few miles outside of the winery. Overall an uneven lunch. Better than average but not as good as what we had before. Due to the price, which was high, I have to rate it one star lower than I previously ranked.

Yelp
Yering Station is a winery, restaurant, shop and more in the Yarra Valley, whose wines may not be quite to my taste but whose incredible produce store certainly is. An architectural wonder that is home to a gorgeous tasting room where you can try all of the vineyard's wines, Yering Stations staff are friendly and ebullient while the Station's shop, selling an incredible range of jams, preserves and other gourmet foodstuff's is a real foodie sight to behold. Worth a visit for the views alone, Yering Station is not only one of the Yarra Valley's most picturesque wineries but also one of the area's most foodie vineyards, hosting a monthly farmer's market offering fruit and vege, meat and more. Ok, there may be better wineries in the region for those who like their vino close to perfection, but if you're hankering after some edible souvenirs to take back to Melbourne from the Yarra Valley, Yering Station is definitely the place to go.

Yelp
Filthy rich? Got some lottery winnings you're looking to burn through? If so, take the helicopter tour from Melbourne CBD and arrive right on the lawn in the middle of Yering Station for a truly fantastic high end experience. However, if you're like the rest of us, take a car (or, better yet, someone else's -- please do not ever, ever, ever drink and drive) and visit Yering Station not only for their fantastic cellar door experience, but, the gorgeous location and delicious lunch menu. It gets rather crowded on weekends on holidays, but, if you time it right, you can not only have an unforgettable meal, but, some great personalised attention in the tasting room located a short walk away from the dining room. I've been lucky enough to visit Yering Station three times, and each trip has been spectacular. And each trip has resulted in several bottles of their Shiraz Viognier coming home with me. This most recent trip was no exception. Their reserve wines are chart-toppingly delicious, and worth adding to your collection. The tasting room is large and serves as a form of an art gallery as well. Side effect: You do get some very large tours through here, and it can make it tough to get the attention of the staff at the square tasting bar in the middle of the room -- but persevere, it's worth it!

Yelp
I do love a bit of the old grape juice. Oh yes I do. Yering Station however is not one of my favourites taste wise though. Each to their own and all that but based on wine only I would rate this 3 stars. Where they come into their own is the lovely grounds that you can stroll around - simply beautiful. By random chance we rocked up while the Farmers' Markets were on (3rd Sunday of each month apparently - who knew!?). Lots of people relaxing in the gardens listening to the live music and strolling around the many stalls sampling the best local produce - waffles, chutney, cider and even Christmas pudding. Perfect for a day trip from Melbourne - especially as we head into summer.

Yelp
It was a clean premise. There were stay ready and welcoming us. The cellar door tasting area was large and had an excellent display of local arts hanging on display and available for purchase. The staff we warm, welcoming and upfront: the young employee who helped us had only started a week or so prior and was very open about this; this helped us understand her position and knowledge also. Though in all the questions we asked only once did this employee ask another employee for help to answer. Staff were knowledgeable, including explaining their process; how they have developed their process of the years and continue to reinvent their wines and processes. There are several types of wines to taste. Tasting is complimentary. Types of wines available for tasting may depend on the day you visit: i.e. the more expensive bottles may only be opened on Weekends or Public holidays as they are busier then and are unlikely to be wasting the wines. *opened wines should be consumed within 28 hours. Bottles prices start from $19.50 but expect to pay about $27 per bottle is the average price give or take* And buying at the cellar door gives a discount on the price per carton* (at the time we visited). alternatively you may order online but be sure to be prepared to pay for freight costs. Yelp
Gorgeous location and tasting room. Unfortunately the wines are terrible. Probably received too much hype. The best wine this season is a two year old sangiovese, nice body, smooth finish, and decently balanced. It is a huge place as you can imagine by the fact that they can host weddings and large events. Come and take a look but don't expect much from the wines.

Yelp
Terrible wine. I tasted about five of the free wines and the paid $10 for the tasting flight of their special reserve. Wasn't a single wine that was decent even on the reserve list. The gardens looks great with sculptures and ponds and well kept orchards. The interior was nice too, that is until you see the prices. $10 for a jar of jam, $12.50 for a small bag of honey comb and $60 for an undrinkable wine? Highway robbery. Hard to enjoy yourself when they are trying to rob you. My advice, drop in for a stroll in the gardens if you like. We ate at the restaurant and the food was decent but again very pricey $30 for a beef main and I had to get more bread to be satiated. There are only so many wineries you can drink at for a day, and I recommend you give this one a wide berth and go to De Bortioli or Chandon down the road!

Yelp
I went here for my friends 25th birthday and I was expecting to have a good time drinking wine and lunch. We went to Wine Bar Restaurant for lunch. For entree I got the slow cooked duck egg, truffle, parmesan, toasted brioche which was amazing(It looked so good I forgot to take a picture)!! Because there was 12 people, we waited 45 minutes so that all the meals came out at the same time.... My main was a bannockburn chicken, smoked potato, sweet corn, ravioli. My chicken was somewhat dry (had to sip at my water to get the chicken though my throat with each bite.), my smoked potato wasn't anything amazing, when I saw the sweet corn there was just 4/5 little bits and my ravioli wasn't something to rave about... it was pathetic(the outer rim was dry). All i can say is that I had better and if I hadn't been the designated driver I would have had a few more glass of wine and not know the difference. Don't waste your taste buds on this main. Also, when I asked a male server a question in regards to the spread for the warm sourdough bread, that particular server gave me attitude when he answered. First impressions last right? Now every time I think about this place I think of his smart ass attitude which he also DIDN'T display joy, enthusiasm with a smile either. I felt like throwing the spread on his face! They need to weed out the weakest links that are weighing the restaurant down and his one of them.

Melissa D.

Yelp
Had a great time - pourer at the end was a lovely man and the wine was beautiful Only problem was the First Lady who felt the need to comment on what my group of ladies where wearing to our tour guide (we overheard ) totally unnecessary and I was quite offended by the comments.
google avatar

John K.

Yelp
Stopped here for some light lunch and coffee today. We were rudely told by the guy 'greeting' that it'd be a 30min wait to be seated despite the restaurant being only 1/3rd full. Do yourself a favour and go to one of the other wineries or Yarra Glen/Healesville.
google avatar

Meghann P.

Yelp
This is my favorite winery and I try to always come visit when I am back in Australia. I love the fresh market items, because I normally need a snack to go with my wine. We happen to come toward the end of the day on Thursday and had the tasting room to ourselves. We got to chat with the staff and really enjoyed ourselves! Brought a Pinot Nior home and already drank it! It was so delicious, wish I had more!

Jie C.

Yelp
Came here as part of a wine tour, the food was solid, I would rate it closer to 3.5 stars than 4. However I would not have dined here had it not been part of the tour package since I didn't think the food was worth the price I paid. If you order off the prixe fixe menu get the steak it looked much better than the fish.
