It’s a huge YHA hostel/coliving space, very well located, they provide parking for $15/night. The kitchen and living room are always full of people. The rooms are quiet and clean. Bathrooms are plentiful, you never need to queue. Overall satisfied.

As hostels go, it's one of my favourites I've stayed in. I had a private en suite room which got cleaned on a couple of occasions. The staff were immensely friendly and helpful at any hour, the location was great and the common and kitchen areas were big, clean and comfortable. A couple of TV rooms, a quiet room, a pool table and ping-pong table added to the stay. If a few more activities had been put on, it would've been better, but really enjoyed my stay here.

Nice hostel with a huge kitchen and common area. So the kitchen could habe been a little bit cleaner. We had a double room with our own bathroom which was big and nice.

Fantastic relaxed vibe. People were friendly respectful. Patrons cleaned up after themselves in the kitchen and was not loud. Will is very accommodating, helpful and polite. I had a great stay and next time I am in Adelaide will no doubt visit again. It is right next to bis stops. It's lovely

This place is excellent! I could have stayed far longer than my three nights. The front desk staff, the cleaning folks, the senior management (I can only assume) are all fantastic. The hostel smells good, it is clean, the beds are comfortable, the place is quiet at night, the toilets/showers are well maintained, the kitchen(s) is very well designed, the common area is vast, the coworking space was quiet and available.....it is an extremely friendly and welcoming place. Better than staying with my (sharp tongued and intemperate) sister in Colonel Light Gardens.

Loved the communal trivia on Thursday night; great fun 🤩 lots of laughs, and staff went out of their way to make sure there was pizza I could eat (dietary requirements acknowledged and supported when advised ahead of time). Would have been helpful to know to bring a padlock and key with me so I didn’t have to buy one there… Great shower pressure and temperature- excellent reset after a big day exploring.

Loved our stay here - have stayed in some interesting hostels while travelling the east coast but this is how I wish every hostel was. Rooms are comfortable with big lockers, privacy curtains, and proper duvets/pillows (rarity in hostels!). The bathrooms were frequently cleaned and nice to use, laundry was easy with plenty of drying space, and the kitchen was also regularly cleaned with compost, separated bin/recycling, spacious fridges, and well equipped. There are plenty of spaces around the hostel to hang out in (dining room, balcony, study room, quiet room, TV room) which I was so impressed by, and the staff were very friendly. Best YHA of my time in Aus so far!

I had a wonderful experience during my visit, marked by exceptional customer service from a kind and professional staff. The establishment upheld high hygiene standards, which I greatly appreciated. I found the kitchen and dining hall to be spacious, creating a comfortable atmosphere perfect for relaxation. Overall, I did not encounter any issues, making my stay truly enjoyable.

Yelp
I've stayed here several times because my family live out in the country and before I found accommodation in the city I had to have some place to sleep while I was looking for a place to rent. I have been a Youth Hostels Association member for many years, but you do not have to be a YHA member to stay in this clean and utilitarian accommodation. You should be fresh faced and ready to pay the reasonable rates. You should be happy to clean up after yourself in the shower room or the kitchen and you should be a happy camper willing to share the lounge room without demanding everything is your way (like what music is playing or what film is being screened on the TV) If you are they type who is able to enjoy hostel type arrangements, this is one of the finest in the state. It's not as noisy as some inner city hostels, like the ones in Sydney or Auckland (NZ) for example. There are lots of really excellent and cheap eating venues within walking distance in Gouger Street, there is a public swimming pool about ten minutes away on a bike or bus and only a thirty minute walk away (through the park lands) there is Internet access and there are usually lots of rooms available if you don't mind sharing in a bunk bed room - usually there's no more than six in one room so it doesn't get massively overcrowded. Adelaide is a university city so it is not unusual to find many students at the start of the year here doing what I did - looking around for long term accommodation from the hostel base. The price range per person per night starts at just under $30 so it is very reasonable indeed.

Yelp
The rooms were nice here and each bed had it's own light and outlet, with lockers in the rooms. The kitchen and hangout area was really nice as well.

Yelp
The receptionist John threw a cup of urine on me from a second story balcony and had the audacity to accuse me of harbouring illegal fireworks. He also swore at me twice. When I requested he not swear he told me to deal with it and called me a piece of shit. I've stayed at youth hostels all over the world (including Germany) and I've never been treated so poorly. I sincerely hope "John" reconsiders his attitude towards customers.

Yelp
For a Youth Hostel, this one is definitely up there with one of the better ones I have stayed at. If you're not fussed with possibly sharing a room (possibly with someone you can learn new things from), sharing bathrooms, kitchens and leisure rooms, then this would be a decent place to stay for a good price. Also, located on Waymouth St it is not far to walk to the mall, or there are always restaurants and cafes somewhere around. There's Internet access available, and always staff willing to help with anything they can. The rooms aren't too bad either. I have stayed in a four bedroom room, which included two bunk beds, with two others friends and every time we are greeted by sharing a room with a foreign traveller who we share stories with. Who doesn't enjoy making new friends from different countries? You never know when you're going to need a friend who lives overseas!

Yelp
I'm reaaaaally glad we chose to stay at this hostel. There's a decent selection of hostels in Adelaide and it took a bit of research to find the right one for our needs. Although this YHA tends to be a few dollars more than the super cheapy-cheap hostels, the quality and convenience really make up for the price. Having a YHA card doesn't hurt either. The place is spotless. Dare I say it's the cleanest hostel I stayed in while traveling through Australia?! Possibly! The first floor is mainly for checking in and computer use, whereas everyone else hangs out in the enormous social room. There. Is. So. Much. Space. Like wow. The hostel makes a decent attempt to fill this huge space with games, couches, and tables for dining and everything else. I personally see this room ideally for a Friday night dance party slam down. It wants to be so bad, but is willing to accept itself being just a big, fun game room. It's also semi-centrally located within the city just a few blocks from busy King William St and walkable to just about anywhere unless you want to hop on a nearby tram. We had made friends in other hostels during our week's stay in Adelaide. Once viewing our other hostel choices, we knew we made the right move with the Central YHA. Everywhere else just seems cramped, dingy and far away. Or maybe we were just spoiled at this point. :) It was worth it though!

Yelp
It's got a good hangout area, including secluded film and reading rooms. The kitchen is big, but gets crowded. I was a bit put off by the number of big groups that were there during my fortnight stay, which took over the kitchen every night. The location is good- close to Coles, Central Markets, and not far from Rundle Mall and Victoria Sq. The lockers were good, big and shelf-like (instead of under the bed). The rooms were clean, though the beds were a bit squeaky. All in all, good.
