YHA Bristol

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this hostel. When checking out, I accidentally left behind a very valuable personal item at the front desk — a sealed first pressing vinyl of Kevin Morby’s debut album, currently worth over €150 and of significant sentimental value to me, as it was given to me by the artist himself the night before. I contacted the hostel immediately after noticing. It took them 10 days to respond, but they eventually confirmed they had found my record. Since I had already left the UK, I provided them with a London address where they could ship it. They acknowledged my email and said they would get back to me. They never did. Despite follow-up attempts, I have received no further communication and my record has not been returned. I find this extremely unprofessional and disappointing. I trusted the hostel to handle the situation responsibly, especially after they confirmed they had the item in their possession. If you stay there, I strongly recommend double-checking that you leave with all your belongings, because, if you forget a personal object, they might never return them to you.

Brilliant. Cannot fault at all. The beds are comfy, rooms are clean, spacious and ventilated with heating, mod cons like USB sockets, the bathrooms are kept clean and have hot showers, there is a huge self catering kitchen with all the utensils you need, a dining hall and restaurant serving good, reasonably priced food, a bar serving a good selection of drinks, a games room and 3 big lounges with comfy chairs and sofas. The staff are very friendly and accomodating and this YHA is in a brilliant location on the harbourside with access to lots of amenities. And best of all they have an unbeatable price for the whole of the Bristol area. Easy to book on the YHA website!

The location is excellent, right by the harbourside and within easy walking distance of the city centre. I had a room with a harbour view, which was really beautiful but a bit small. The staff are friendly and helpful. A great-value and reliable place to stay.

Great stay at YHA Bristol! The hostel is clean, well organised and in an excellent location by the harbour, close to attractions, cafes and transport links. The rooms and shared areas are well maintained, and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Excellent value for money, highly recommended for travellers visiting Bristol!

My friend and I went for breakfast here today and do you know what it was really good price man like so so good I got some chippys because I was hanging out so like only could stomach that but also have a coffee which had such lovey crocokery I must say so much ao I even told the lovely waitresses that served us also the food didn’t take long to come at all so all very good. Well done YHA

Overall great stay, the toilets are the showering area was separate, lights sometimes turn off when it can’t detect you inside, but good size rooms, service was good, remember to bring a padlock.

This hostel is in a great location. The cafe on the ground floor has outdoor seating which is a nice spot. The chef doing breakfast was friendly and helpful and the food was good - same quality as other YHA's. ||The drawbacks we found were firstly that the "special rate" at the Apex car park mentioned on the website is in fact just the usual pre-booked day rate of £10.95 which ends at midnight so is a minimum £21.90 for anyone staying overnight. ||The second was that there are 5 of us and yet only 3 duvet covers were left in our room. We asked for the two missing duvet covers at Reception and we were told they'd bring them. Our young children waited up with us for them but they never came. One of the duvets itself had both a blood and what looked very much like a mould stain.||We were on the 5th floor in the eaves and our room was very hot yet it wasn't that hot outside. There was a good fan in our room but we could only have it pointing at one set of beds or the middle of the room so in a room with effectively two sleeping areas really it needs 2 fans in this heat. On a very hot night I think this room/floor is likely to be uncomfortably warm.||Unfortunately, we were unable to book an ensuite as they were all gone.The shower on our floor was clean, hot and powerful.

i stay at YHA bristol each month and i always book for vegan breakfast . during my 1st two stays , my vegan breakfast was freshly cooked infront of me and served to me , now from last two times , they have buffet the breakfast, i asked for vegan option and the girl at breakfast reception didnt came back to me. the eggs were almost finished when i went to the buffet and instead of saying i will refill the egg tray she said this is the only left (whats the buffet means ?). the juices were finished and didnt refilled atleast till then i stayed there. overall my stay is always so pleasure but the breakfast is now disappointing

This is a quality youth hostel located perfectly in the centre of tourist Bristol; looking out onto the floating harbour, the Arnolfini next door and other attraction such as @ Bristol, the Cathedral and Park Street only a stone's throw away. The hostel is of excellent quality, seemingly more like a hotel than a hostel, but still has dorms ranging from rooms for two to ten plus. The hostel welcomes groups and solitary visitors and has a range of communal spaces including a cafe, classroom, games room, library, lounge and canteen. The dorms are extremely tidy and well kept. The hostel isn't the cheapest you can find, but definitely worth the money for a comfortable and enjoyable visit to Bristol.

I was misinformed about where to take a bus to the airport. Person in the bar did not know how to make a coffee. Room a little dirty and dusty smell bed clothes.

THis youth hostel is similar to other types of Youth hostels - with accommodation in dormitories - typicallu 5 beds per room althought there are some family rooms which can be booked. Prices are much more resonable than a hotel, and this youth hostel is located right in the city centre - handy for transport links etc!

The hostel is well located, nearby other attractions and entertainments. Reasonable price. Definitely recommend this one.
