YHA Byron Bay

Great spot, across the road from a woolies as well as a 5min walk to the main bars and pubs. The kitchen and toilets were always clean and big enough for all residents. Was disappointed to see curtains on hostel world but not actually have them on arrival :( but I’d still recommend it!

I had a fantastic stay at this hostel! The cleanliness and organization were truly impressive—everything was well-maintained, which is remarkable given the young crowd staying here. The rooms offer great value, striking the perfect balance between affordability and quality. A special shoutout to Row, the overnight staff, whose welcoming attitude and great vibes made the stay even better, ensuring everything ran smoothly even late at night. Highly recommend this place!

It was good. Wasn’t the best trip, but still, it was great accomodation. I slept pretty well and it was a good sleep. The bed was pretty comfortable and it was worth it. I’m glad that Tribes the social group I’m with, was able to get us some place to stay in from the rain. But that didn’t stop us from having fun. Highly recommend it to anyone living/visiting Byron Bay.

Stayed in the private room with bathroom. Was absolutely perfect. Really quiet and comfy bed. Very modern room and bathroom and TV. Decent WiFi too! Helpful reception as well, hostel itself isn’t like your usual hostel. Didn’t experience any noise or drunk people. Evenings can be busy in the communal kitchen area but that’s to be expected. Pool is decent as well as the working space and living room. Great location highly recommend.

It’s an alright hostel, rooms and beds were pretty good. Common area was large but not very inviting, lots of young backpackers partying and being quite loud. Our first night we came to find two of the men’s bathrooms filled with vomit when we were brushing our teeth.

Very good hostel, lots of space and well maintained. The open air common area and pool were awesome and the internet room was great. The room itself was spacious and the ensuite being split was handy. One downside was the internet was a bit spotty in the room, not a big issue though as I was barely in there. Would highly recommend staying here.

Great stay, clean rooms. Staff very helpful especially Ricki who helped us book a taxi during the cyclone she was so lovely and positive, she made everything so much easier . The staff were overall very helpful. Hot showers and a lovely social area with Netflix.

This is the nicest hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Got a private room with an en-suite bathroom and it felt like a very well kept hotel, with the perks of a hostel (kitchen, laundry, etc) and a nice pool and funky aesthetic. WiFi was also very fast which was great for working. Location central as well. Highly recommend.

AMAZING! probably my favourite hostel I've stayed in. hosts were amazing, and the rooms were comfortable and clean. they have a pool and upper deck to hang out at. if you want to do something local they can give you plenty of options to look at. for example I tried surfing and they referenced me to a place to go. very helpful. overall I loved this place and will try to book with them if I stay in bryon bay again

I was a little wary of staying in a hostel as I haven't done the whole shared bathroom down the hall thing in a few years but I was pleasantly surprised by the YHA. My friends and I were in a big enough group to share a six person room-- it was clean and fairly spacious, and the beds were comfy. The bathrooms were also very clean and there was never a wait for the shower. I also found that it wasn't noisy late at night-- either we came at a time when the big party people weren't staying or these guys do a good job of noise control late night. This hostel is super close to all of the bars and restaurants in Byron and only a couple of blocks to the beach. It was only $40 a night and that includes free use of their boogey boards and bicycles as well! We didn't use the kitchen but took a peek one day and it looked big enough to accommodate everyone. Would definitely recommend this to a budget traveller.
