Excellent hostel with a calm atmosphere and cool and collected staff that are helpful and kind. Rooms are tidy and bathrooms are plentiful, and the kitchen is well equipped. I did not use the breakfast but it looked good. The location is also perfect, 5 mins from the station and a 10 ~ 15 min walk into the exact center of town. Recommended. Happy to see YHA keeping it real.

I love travelling around UK and stay in some hotels. This time I stayed here 4 nights YHA Cambridge. Mia in the reception checked me in. Shes very friendly, smiling face, approachable, and helpful that made me feel at home. Very well explained and details when checking me in as well as the other customers arrived. Jack and Mossimo as well are warm welcome during my stay.||On my first morning, I had breakfast and enjoyed lots of selections in the buffet plus Full English breakfast.||On my second day, I had continental breakfast this time because I have 1 chicken left from last night. I ask the lady (Chef) asking for a FAVOR if my piece of chicken allowed to reheat in the main kitchen. The customer kitchen that time was a bit busy. So I was wondering if she can reheat it for me. I was surprised that she refused me and said “You need to go to the kitchen customer that is why me made it there and walked away” I feel disappointed because even her voice of tone was “RUDE”. Shes not helpful. And shes not busy during that time because only few customer. She never even say GOOD MORNING during my entire stay very sad.||We are working in Hospitality so at least we will try to be helpful and friendly to our customers. I know we are not a hotel or a five star hotel but at least there is willingness to help other people. Every staff was trying their best to have a very good reputation.||I was hoping that it will not happen to other customer because it not very good at all. ||I would recommend this YHA Cambridge but I will never stay again.

Roughly 5min walk from Cambridge train station and you are at YHA Cambridge. A warm welcoming staff with nice reception area and the place is clean and tidy. I stayed in a dorm intented for 4 people and I slept very well. There was no noise from outside and the room was kept perfectly warm considering it was cold outside. Food is reasonable in terms of price and quality and they are served well. For those who are planning to stay long they provide upto 2 weeks continues stay. They also offer discounts for the total stay for those who join their annual membership which will be very beneficial for the frequent visitors. Overall a great experience.

It’s clear the locations and prices are excellent and I’m sure the staff are lovely but my god the terms and conditions are terrible. What was meant to be a quick pit stop so I could make my early flight at Stansted Airport, has just turned into a mildly unpleasant situation. Due to booking 7 accommodations for an upcoming trip, I had booked this hostel a day too late, I simply requested to move my booking back 1 day! The same price, there’s availability and it’s in good time. My request was rejected as per the ‘T&Cs’. Yes completely understandable it was my mistake and the terms and conditions are there to read, but in what world is a simple request to move it a day back when nothing else is affected by this request?! Absolutely petty and ridiculous terms. I honestly think I’d rather sleep outside the airport than to cancel it and rebook it. It’s only £31 but it’s the principle of how ridiculous it was to reject this request. YHA Cambridge, save yourself time from replying, I simply don’t care what you have to say

We loved every minute of our stay at this beautiful hostel! In fact, we planned our visit here around their availability. :) I briefly lived in Cambridge 20 years ago, and often walked past this beautiful hostel on my way two and from the train station. There was always the loveliest atmosphere around the place, and such a safe and convenient location. It was so nice to see that nothing has changed in this regard. |There were five in our group - two adults and three children. As such, we booked a private room. It was beautiful, convenient, and very secure! We did share restrooms, but with such a small group of other rooms that it was almost like having an en suite. |The staff could not have been more kind and helpful. It was our second day in England from the USA, and we were thinking through many logistical questions as we got acclimated. The staff were so helpful as we thought through transportation options. |The breakfast was the best I've eaten at any YHA property, undoubtedly. And the dining area has so much character! We loved the mural of famous Cambridge alumni punting together. |I would recommend this hostel to anyone. It's a wonderful lodging in a phenomenal city.

This place is just clean, supplied with kitchen living room and even with a quite decent breakfast. The walking distance to Regent street and train station is acceptable (<15min). The street side rooms may be a bit more noisy.

One of the best hostels I’ve been to! The room are great, the separate shower and toilet where clean. The location is perfect as well, 5min walk from the train station and 15min walk from the city centre with lots of cafés and supermarkets nearby. The staff is super friendly as well! The only thing I would say is that the room were quite warm at night and we were only in June, but there was 2 fans so that really helps and I still slept great (beds comfy)
