I stayed here with 2 friends for a weekend walking in Eskdale. We have stayed in 6 other youth hostels and this is by far the best. It is immaculate, the common rooms are spacious, clean and tidy and our private bedroom was spacious and spotless. Breakfast was superb. All credit to the warden and team running this superb hostelry. |The location is fabulous and there is lots of parking space. We will definately be back!

A peaceful stay in a beautiful mountain setting with a charming river nearby — perfect for photos! The 4-bunk room was great value for the price, with clean washrooms and a satisfying breakfast (continental or English). I’d definitely come back!

I had a lovely stay at this YHA. Tucked away in one of the most peaceful and scenic parts of the Lake District, it’s perfect for anyone wanting to explore the fells or just disconnect and enjoy nature. The atmosphere was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It’s family friendly too. The staff were kind and helpful. The hostel itself was clean and cosy. The staff do a deep clean daily. I especially loved the communal areas, which made it easy to meet other travellers. As well as a cafe, they have a self catering kitchen stocked with pans, cutting boards, knives, cutlery and anything you could ever need while cooking. The views from the hostel were stunning, and there are some beautiful trails that start right from the doorstep.

Great location, about 20 mins away from Scafell , ideal for walker climbers or anything outdoors. There is both a self catering and on site restaurant, breakfast is cheap and plentiful. There is even a small bar to help rest in the evening. Rooms are comfortable with communal showers . Plenty of seating inside and outside. Staff are friendly and helpful, all in all a nice place.

Lovely Hostel with amazing views. Nice and clean in all areas. Very disappointed with the vegan breakfast, please get rid of those sausages, they are awful, get some proper vegan ones instead and maybe some mushrooms and how can you charge the same price as a full English with bacon etc. £9.95 was a rip off for the vegan version!

Came here to spend two nights in one of their Landpods. It rained both nights, but we were very snug. The shower/bathroom facilities are just a short walk along the field. There is lots of hot water in the shower .. but could do with a few small extras like a duck board to dry yourself on and a shelf to put your shower gel on. Inside the hostel, there is a drying room to get all your wet gear dry, a reading and games room which doubles as the evening meal breakfast room. Nothing flash, but homely. Wanted the outdoor experience without the tent, and we all loved it. Cost us around £30 each for two nights, so it was great value.

Stayed here to climb the Scafell Pike. It was such a lovely place with lovely people. Jack was particularly super friendly and helpful. Thank you for making my trip so special!
