YHA Hobart Central

A bit mixed feelings about the place. So id say for anyone who’s got only hostel level budget, this one is amazing. Pros - the staff were super friendly and helpful. They also offer free luggage drop off which is super convenient. The location is superb. The kitchen was very handy. Compared to lots of party hostels this one is also very quiet Cons - the bed wasn’t the cleanest even among a lot of hostels I’ve stayed. I’m pretty sure it’s cleaned, however the blanket’s condition does look like it was used by someone. My room was next to a Main Street which has traffic 24/7. Overall I’m still quite happy with my stay. But I might stay somewhere else if I’m not tight on budget next time.

I will admit that I have not stayed at a YHA for many years. On a recent trip one of my travelling companions was staying YHA so thought I would give it a go. First up, I was travelling alone, two single night stays, and paid the extra for the room ensuite. Both rooms were a little care worn and basic, but were also clean and everything worked. The checkin staff were very friendly and helpful, the place had a general cheerful vibe. Yes, the ground floor kitchen was small but comprehensive, the common room likewise. The Hobart Centrals' ace in the hole is its location, close to everything including bus transfers, which was very handy. Slept well both nights, stayed early spring so enjoyed the room heating. For a single person it is difficult to argue with the value and convienience. Would I stay there again, a definite yes, infact would probably talk my partner into staying as well.

I had a great stay at YHA Hobart Central. The place was very clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Hobart CBD, making it easy to walk around and explore the city. I would definitely recommend it to other travelers looking for a comfortable and convenient stay.

I stayed around two months in YHA hostel in Hobart and I had such a good time. Everyone was so kind and friendly from stuff to other guests and it really felt like mini home in Tasmania. I have to highlight that Dylan was very kind and helpful with everything, very professional and with best advices when it comes to trips and excursions. I’m definitely looking forward to my next stay when I visit Hobart. All recommendations for this hostel!

it's my second time to choose YHA, I had great time in last one when I was in Byron Bay, so i choose it again. This one is so clean, made me feel like in a high quality hotel, the bathroom is big and super comfortable. And room is aslo tidy. And it's very close to the station.

A had a mixed review on this hostel during my stay. Bed was clean and cozy but the room itself was a bit outdated with some parts visibly stained and dirty. Heater was working okay. Toilets/showers can be accessible from either sides of hallways. No lifts so be wary if you have multiples suitcases with you. Not a 24/7 reception too.

Our room was clean and spacious. Easy parking infront of the building and no fee from 6pm till 8am. Best thing abour this place is the location.

Fantastic base for looking around Hobart! Friendly team. If you are staying on a Thursday, make sure you do the Platypus walk - really wonderful.
