Yha is really great, the hostel is cleaner than a hospital and self catering kitchen and lounge are better than home. Location is outstanding and you feel at home and safe people other than youth need to use these they make for a great cost effective familying time skoda

The hostel managers were really helpful in answering any questions I had. The room, self catering kitchen and shower room was tidy and clean. |The parking was a little confusing but managed to figure it out in the end. |Has the necessities and nothing fancy. Just what I needed

What more do you need from a YHA? Unbeatable location, well maintained kitchen, open eating spaces and a warm shower! We were camping and definitely recommend the camping shower - large outhouse. The dry room also saved us on multiple occasions. The yha porters were very friendly and informative - id say it was definitely worth paying the extra bit instead of wild camping.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My stay at YHA Idwal Cottage was truly exceptional! The property boasts an ideal location, and the team was fantastic throughout my visit. The booking process was a breeze, and all my queries were answered promptly. A special shout-out to Marc, who went above and beyond to ensure a smooth check-in and provided invaluable guidance for my hike. His advice on the terrain and the useful maps he shared were instrumental in making my adventure a success. As a solo hiker, the single-bed room was a perfect fit, and the well-equipped self-catering kitchen made meal preparation easy. The spotless washrooms were also a plus. Communication was excellent throughout the entire experience. Overall, I highly recommend YHA Idwal Cottage to anyone seeking a top-notch stay in the area.

This a superb location for exploring the area. The staff were really friendly and willing to help. It was easy to find and the parking was easy to follow and pragmatic. There is no catered service on site but the self service kitchen is really well laid out.

We were lucky to walk in and get a room on the bank holiday weekend (someone had to leave early so we could take their spot) - very grateful to the helpful & friendly guy at reception, good self-catering facilities and busy social atmosphere in the dining room. Very close to the bus stop to Bangor and the start of the walk to Llyn Idwal & Devils Kitchen, Tryfan etc.

Great YHA property in a wonderful location. A top base to go out and explore, within walking distance of 3 major ranges of mountains including Snowdon. Great communal lounges, good shared cooking space and top showers- all you would expect from YHA. Bunks were a bit narrow and I’m not that wide, but other than that a top place to crash and enjoy the outdoors! P.s. good on site bar to get a couple of beers at the end of the day!

The chap working here was warm and friendly (Jurgen?). He was very helpful and happy to chat, also recommended walking routes and places to visit. We were in room 10, cosy and clean, although very hot, we weren't able to turn down the radiator and resorted to opening the window. Super location for Tryfan. The communal spaces were clean, comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed our stay despite the weather!
