YHA Keswick

Yet another YHA success. This is a lovely hostel, with a view of river Greta and Fitz Park. We were very warmly welcomed by the staff and they all were brilliant, accommodating and helpful. ||The bedroom itself was fine, except it was far too hot. Not sure whether it was the weather or it being situated right next to the drying room, but we were very grateful for the fan that was provided. ||The one thing we would have appreciated knowing ahead of time was the Disc Parking on Station Road, which did catch us out. So if you are driving then please do make sure you get a disc for the parking attendant.||From a situation point of view this YHA is brilliantly placed, for any activity you would want to do. ||Would very happily come again.

Had a great stay at YHA Keswick. Jude, who checked us in, was incredibly helpful—he pointed us to some brilliant hiking routes and recommended great spots for food and drinks. The rooms were very clean, and the location right by the lake is stunning. Would definitely stay again!

Great for a good nights sleep. Went with the guys for a weekend away we got a 4 berth dorm with shower and toilet. More than adequate for a nights sleep. Room and had a balcony with views over river which was a bonus.

This was an unexpected stop over after some car problems left us needing a place to stay overnight. What a pleasant surprise this YHA was! First of the staff were incredibly patient, warm and helpful, especially important when travelling with children. We did have a 2 bed private room with ensuite, the room was very very small which is why I knocked of a star but otherwise very clean and comfortable. The bonus was having the use of a little balcony overlooking the river, a pleasant superseded indeed and the sound of the river was just lush. The kitchen was well equipped (bar kitchen scissors which I needed, I’m sure if we asked they would have provided). Very family friendly, we were kindly helped with bags which was very much appreciated when travelling alone with two young children! There was a lovely warmth to this hostel and even activities for children as well as a water filling station which was every handy indeed! Thank you to all the lovely staff for a short but very sweet stay, we look forward to visiting again :)

I have only good things to say! Room was very spacious and lovely for the both of us and had everything you needed. We stayed in a triple room for 2 of us (but in the end room had 2 single beds and 2 bunk beds but no problems with that of course). Bed was very comfortable, shared showers and toilets outside were clean, spacious and bright. Counter staff Matt in particular was incredibly helpful and friendly, and helped us figure out a way to hike Blencathra via Sharp Edge in the morning, informed us of bus availabilities and schedules etc. They also allowed us to store luggage with them while we hiked and allowed us to use their toilets and showers to freshen up after the hike. We also had lunch there and food was delicious!! Really great hotel very value for money. Thank you!

This is our third time at Keswick and we had another great stay. The staff are very friendly and really helpful. It was nice to see that the hostel seems to have had some repairs and sofas have been replaced in the bar area. Our room was clean and tidy.

Stayed between Christmas and New Year for a couple of days. Staff were as lovely as always. The room was clean and warm. The windows absolutely howl in the wind though and woke me right through the night even with ear plugs in. Probably just need a bit of sealant or something. ||||The showers and toilets were clean and the showers were hot, not powerful at all but good enough. ||||The self catering kitchen is great. The drying rooms are good. The restaurant has a good atmosphere and great view. ||The location is excellent and normally I don’t book this yha as it’s usually so expensive in comparison to most but got a bargain this time. ||||It can be noisy with footsteps, squeaky floors a d doors banging so take ear plugs. ||||Overall, great stay.

Great place for a simple but tasty lunch in a pleasant riverside location and away from the throngs in the adjacent streets. Tremendously friendly staff too. A hidden gem.
