There are a *few* positives - the hostel is in a great location for walking to Malham Cove and other nearby sites. And, the staff were very nice and helpful. The saving grace for this place, to be quite honest.
The facilities and breakfast were adequate, although parking is very limited and there are no hooks or shelves to store things in the shower rooms.
But, I had the worst night sleep here - the beds are so uncomfortable I could feel my spine and/or hip bones depending on the way I was lying. The beds are too short, so either my head or feet were pressed against the metal bars. And to top it off, I was sharing a room with people who snored so loudly that even shouting and asking them to turn over didn’t wake them up. I got 2 hours sleep at best, and left the room at 7am. I couldn’t bear it any longer. I could barely stay awake in the car driving home the next day, making my stay here actually quite dangerous.
My advice is to pay for somewhere half decent and get a good nights sleep, or even camp in a tent. Either way you’ll have a better night sleep than staying here. Don’t let this place taint your holiday like it did mine.
