Lovely hostel, very clean. Good shared kitchen facilities (fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, cookers/hobs & plenty of plates/pans/glasses etc), lounge and dining area. Bathrooms were clean and mostly modern. Heating worked well. Location is a bit out the way but we knew that, but make sure you go prepared! No lights up some of the track either so take a torch if you plan a walk in the evening. The track is a bit shoddy so drive slow! No issues sharing on our visit but it was quiet, not sure how it would be if full. Improvements - Some benches outside for sunny days. The green light that stays on all night (assuming for health and safety) is far to bright and kept me awake - Eventually created a den in the bunk beds to resolve this, but ideally the light could do with being much dimmer if it has to be there. 30 minutes walk into Minehead, and walks all around in the woods. O2 network didn't work, not even for phone calls, and the WiFi was intermittent, so bear this in mind if you need to be connected all the time.

We booked it exclusively for a family holiday for 3 days. A perfect getaway, beautiful grounds and surroundings. It’s quite remote, perhaps feels more so than it actually is but a car is certainly needed. Facilities are fine, plenty of living room and good sized kitchens. Minehead is a lovely smallish town with beautiful sandy beaches and beautiful hilly setting.

Lovely place to stay for my family of four. Very comfortable and the self-catering kitchen was good. A bit out of the town, but that suited us perfectly. Very welcoming staff - the warden even lent us a map. Lots of walking on the doorstep of the hostel. We walked to Duster Castle, through the woods. Would happily stay there again.

Great hostel. Fantastic position which feels remote in the forest but easy walking distance to town. The staff were incredibly helpful and nice. Food was good. The bike storage was really secure. We can’t wait to go again.

We rented the Minehead YHA on an exclusive basis for a family weekend. It was an ideal place. Lots of sleeping space, well equipped self catering kitchen and spacious communal areas, and all spotlessly clean. The house is in a wonderful location on the side of a valley, very secluded and surrounded by trees and lovely grounds. We were a mixed group from 5 to 75 and there was plenty for everyone to do. Steam train, beach and adventures in the grounds for the children. Lovely walking and cycling tracks direct from the door for the adults. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing YHA located in a beautiful woodland setting, within short drive/cycle to the sea front, local supermarkets, places of interest, pubs and restaurants.||||Minehead YHA is managed by chap called Andrew, he is very friendly and knowledgeable and provided lots of advice throughout our stay noting many worthwhile places to visit. He goes above and beyond to make all of his guests feel very welcome. ||||From what I could gather Andrew seems to be a one man show, cleaning, painting decorating, cooking and generally putting in long hours and doing just about everything to make this an awesome YHA holiday experience. ||||The hostel was immaculate and beautifully kept, the no shoe indoor policy was a great idea and goes along way in making this venue feel like a home away from home. ||My 13 year old son and I had a lovely stay and would recommend this venue to all.

A bit off the beaten track and the mobile signal was patchy to say the least. Be prepared for a fairly long walk before you are able to get a decent connection. Other than that I enjoyed my stay. Rooms clean and comfortable and the members kitchen is well equipped with good facilities for those who are self catering. Thank you.

A really lovely hostel in a secluded woodland valley. ||We had great local walks and the children loved exploring the woodland and stream. The garden is beautiful, a really lovely place to spend time. And the beach is 10mins in the car. ||Duster castle and village were great too.
