Avoid this place like the plague. I booked a room for 5 people through Expedia with the expectation to stay here due to the location, however, they do not advertise on there when the latest check in is, until after you make the reservation, which is non-refundable. They also state "free self-parking", which is deceptive, as the only available parking is run by the national park across the road, and costs money. We were also told to book through the "JustPark" app, which charges £40 for parking. The machine in the carpark only charges £10, but is mysteriously broken. They refused to let us check in late, despite their advert not giving any times, and also refused to refund us despite their deceptive advertisement.
The place itself - the wifi is garbage and doesn't even work. You're told to just reconnect if there's issues, but it didn't work once while there, and there's no mobile reception in the area, so it's a proper dead spot. The toilets were very dirty, three of which were blocked or had urine on the floor, and the shower I used only had cold water. People in other rooms were making loud noises quite late into the night, and being an old building, you can hear everything through the walls.
The only positive is that our stay wasn't any longer. It would've been a nightmare to stay here longer than the single night we were able to stay (since we were scammed out of our second night).
Location is good if you want to hike up Snowdon, although I'd recommend just booking somewhere else and taking the bus here, or driving.
Edit: Editing my review since I can’t respond to the response below. I contacted Expedia directly, who tried to organise a refund for your false advertisement. They told me, it was YHA management who refused to give a refund, and that Expedia has to follow all the booking rules set by the accommodation, and not their own rules. Please do not try and claim it’s Expedia’s fault when it’s yours.
