We stayed as a group of 38 sixth form students and staff in July, and we had an outstanding experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly, flexible, and always willing to help—nothing was too much trouble. Communication in the lead-up to the trip was excellent, and they were extremely accommodating with dietary requirements and allergies, which gave us real peace of mind.||The hostel itself is fantastic—clean, comfortable, and in a breathtaking location right on the mountain. We opted for the full board option, which was excellent value. The catered meals were great, especially the breakfasts, which set us up perfectly for our hikes. A few students also brought their own food and made use of the self-catering kitchen, which was impressively well-equipped with plenty of hobs, pans, and utensils.||The rooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable—ideal for a good night's sleep after a day outdoors. I would highly recommend this hostel to any school group or large party. It offers brilliant value for money, and I’m already planning a return trip—either with another school group or with my own family.

NOTE : This review is not directed in anyway at staff of the YHA Snowdon PYP. I booked 4 nights (13 - 17 July). I developed a highly contagious eye infection. I would be infecting anyone I came into contact with, so I cancelled. As per the T&Cs of the booking - cancel before midday on the 12th July and receive a refund for 80% of the total. I received confirmation of cancellation, and the room (private twin) got snapped up immediately upon becoming available. I called YHA to confirm cancellation and they confirmed the refund (which they said they issued during the call). It has now been over a week with still no refund even though they resold all dates I was booked for. £90 a night is no joke! I now have to chase this up through the payment provider. What a bunch of cowboys! Update : Their mealy apology doesn't address anything, not one contact, or that it will be looked into. Like I said, cowboys!

The location is perfect, really just next the start of the track to climb Snowdonia! The staff was also really amazing, all very kind, realiy appreciated it! Regardless of the alarm during the morning, and maybe the cleanliness sometimes, it was perfect. I would recommend this place for sure.

Great location for this hostel and it is everything you could want from a youth hostel. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the building was good, clean and comfortable. Only 4 stars because our 4 person room was a little on the snug side. Otherwise can not say enough good things about it. The breakfast was good and plentiful ready for the walk up Snowdon. If you are staying here and needing to park consider parking at Nant Peris and using the bus to get to the hostel. For those walking Snowdon this is ideally located for the Miners track and the Pyg track that both begin/end in the car park directly across the road. TL:DR great place to stay for those walking Snowdon, would absolutely recommend.

Stayed for one night a few Friday's ago. Arrived late, just before 10pm and were greeted by the most friendly and accommodating clerk at the counter. Can't fault her manner and service. Had a nice pint at the bar and played pool in the games room before retiring to a comfy room with an en suite. Following morning had a cracking full breakfast before heading up onto Snowdon via Crib Goch in the snow and ice.

We initially planned to say for 3 nights and extended to 4, the hostel is absolutely fantastic. Its location is perfect for getting out amongst the mountains, and at the price point the accommodation ticks all the boxes. It’s not a luxurious stay, but it makes up for that with excellent and friendly staff, comprehensive facilities including a drying room for your kit, and a self serving kitchen that was well supplied. The bar and restaraunt were perfect after a long day in the hills, and the staff lit the fire when we asked. There’s a real sense of shared interests here and the vibe is much more interesting and welcoming than many hotels.

What a beautiful place to stay, received a nice and warm welcome, great enjoyable atmosphere , staff were helpful. The kitchen was so clean, the mountain views are amazing from here. Need to park at nant peris Park @ Pen Y Pass is expensive and pre booked only.

This is absolutely disgusting , I paid £330 for a four person bunk bed room . It looks absolutely nothing like the images online . I felt like I was staying in a prison. There were cobwebs in every corner and the doors and walls were dirty and yellow . The only heating we had was a tiny plug in heater and the sink was next to the beds. Outrageous, never coming here again and absolutely do not recommend.
