Had the best stay at YHA here. Location is superb, straight on the trail, regular buses if you need to get to a shop, beautiful scenery. Very nice clean rooms, good food and well equipped self-service kitchen too. For the price it was a steal! Also met so many wonderful fellow hikers and ate together. Will be back

This review is based on the service I received from the wonderful reception girls. I had camped the previous night in Llanberis and whilst there were a few options to eat there I opted to drive to Pen Y Pass where I had pre booked the parking for my walk up the mountain and then eat in the cafe. After the drive from Llanberis on arrival the cafe was not open so I went to the YHA as they serve breakfast, however the service had finished as I was too late. Now the situation here is I can drive back to Llanberis and then have to eat and drive back again which would have taken me an hour or two. Obviously the mountain ascent on an empty stomach would not have been wise (I had plenty of snacks, however). Anyway here's the point of the review, one of the girls on reception arranged for a bacon sandwich for me. What a life saver, set me up a treat for my 5 hour walk. Brilliant service thank you. Friendly, helpful, polite.

We stayed as a group of 38 sixth form students and staff in July, and we had an outstanding experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly, flexible, and always willing to help—nothing was too much trouble. Communication in the lead-up to the trip was excellent, and they were extremely accommodating with dietary requirements and allergies, which gave us real peace of mind.||The hostel itself is fantastic—clean, comfortable, and in a breathtaking location right on the mountain. We opted for the full board option, which was excellent value. The catered meals were great, especially the breakfasts, which set us up perfectly for our hikes. A few students also brought their own food and made use of the self-catering kitchen, which was impressively well-equipped with plenty of hobs, pans, and utensils.||The rooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable—ideal for a good night's sleep after a day outdoors. I would highly recommend this hostel to any school group or large party. It offers brilliant value for money, and I’m already planning a return trip—either with another school group or with my own family.

Just stayed here for the first time, climbed Snowdon in challenging weather! What a great welcome, exceptionally friendly professional staff. Great value food and beer. Special mention to Finlay, very helpful and lots of handy info. Room good value.

Perfect hostel for hiking trips in the area! My bunk was clean and comfy and the showers were nice. The food was pretty good after a long day in the mountains and it was great to have the self catering option as well. It was a bit on the expensive side for a hostel, but I suppose it’s perfectly located at the base of Snowdonia, and I did visit during the summer holidays. Would love to come back in a less popular time!

Our stay was completely and utterly ruined by loud, obnoxious and arrogant foreign customers who decide its a good idea to keep paying customers up until 2am in the morning with no consideration for others or their families. My husband, son, and myself had hardly any sleep, two hours max, and wanted to get up early to walk up the mountain. Absolutely disgusting. Never ever again. Room functional, although the windows were filthy. This should not be allowed to happen, I know it's only £70 a night but you should be entitled to a restful nights sleep. Really disappointed and put us off staying here again. Staff lovely. Food actually nice. Service ok.

We arrived at Snowdon Pen-Y-Pass around 9:45 p.m after Hiking the Ranger Path just in time for check-in. No parking on site & Dinner service was close. We collected our room keys and headed straight to Caernarfon town for dinner.|Unfortunately, Our room was filthy, and the toilet and bathroom clearly hadn't been cleaned. Since everything was closed by the time we arrived to checked in, we couldn't report the issue to the manager.|Note: Photo ID is a must for all guests (except children).|Having stayed in other YHA hostels, this one did not meet the standards in terms of cleanliness and parking support.|Thankfully, we found overnight parking space for £40, booking via JustPark was difficult due to poor internet connectivity on site, however we managed to get Wi-Fi at Pen-y-Pass Warden Centre.|The car park is wardened and has toilet facilities, but spaces are extremely limited. If full, drivers are advised to use the Park & Ride at Nant Peris (3 miles down the pass), though it's important to check the bus timetable in advance, last bus service is at 7 p.m.

Lovely cup of tea and flapjack here, but no hot food until after 15:00. Staff were lovely. Ideal for Yr Widdfa and all the hiking paths.
