Absolutely kills perception of Hostels. A pristinely clean and immaculate fittings, beds and linen. Many a 5 star hotel would not be as well cleaned. A no frills delight. Great kitchen for general cooking and laundry. The best value for money ever.

This youth hostel is immaculately clean and well run. All the communal areas were immaculately clean and very comfortable. The grounds are well maintained, car park is big enough for everyone. The members kitchen was thoroughly cleaned throughout the day at regular intervals. Hostel was busy and staff were excellent. Stratford upon Avon youth hostel is outstanding, a definite Jewel in the YHA crown.

The area is beautiful and the grounds are wondrous. Big old trees and a stunning building. I have never stayed in a hostel before. It was much better than I expected. The town is about a 40 minute walk, 10 mins in the car including finding somewhere to park. Also the staff, especially Marc was super helpful.

I came here with my wife and a couple friend's. It wasn't really bad ,the food was nice to eat but we payed to much for it, the rooms weren't cleaned properly, under my pillow there was a hair ball and under one of our friend's pillow and wall there were boogers, under one of the beds were someone's dirty underwear, the only reason I enjoyed the stay was because my wife, wasn't able to fit onto one bed with me so we slept separately, best sleep of my life ,even though I woke up with sore muscles because the beds were quite hard and uncomfortable, the showers were basically throwing out ice cubes and the bathroom smelled like they were cleaned with urine. We all came back home with colds, the food gave one of my friends a mild allergic reaction. When you opened the window it smelled horrible,if you wanted to to make your room smell nice ,you couldn't do anything,if you sprayed any type of spray, for example hair dry shampoo or perfume or cologne it would set off the fire alarm. The outside was really nice and the interior was amazing ,the garden was beautiful and the field was outstanding.Overall if you want to sleep secretly with your wife you should come here!I really enjoyed some parts if this place.

AVIOD AT ALL COSTS. Staff are lovely but everything else make sure to avoid. My room? Imagine a prison cell but worse, the sheets…..I wouldn’t dare smell them. There was blood stains on me and my family’s blankets, hairs on the bed and some other questions stains on my pillow. There was some random persons briefs behind my son’s bed. The bathrooms looked like they hadn’t seen bleach since the ice age, and the food was extortionate. VERY VERY overpriced. For my dinner I ordered what I thought was a southern fried chicken wrap with chips and what I instead got was the smallest piece of chicken breast I have ever seen in my life, whacked onto an unseasoned pitta bread and one slice of lettuce and well let’s just say dessert was not much better. Free school lunches at a primary school serve you more. It was a sleepless night for me and my family. There was continuous noise and random people kept knocking on my door and running away, the room was either extremely hot or cold and impossible to sleep in. And if that all wasn’t enough we have all come back with horrible colds that have left us bedridden for a week. Overall I would rate this 0 stars if I could but because that option isn’t available I rate this a 1.

I trevelled with my husband and some of our friend the food was disappointing, a few good options but some of the members I went with couldnt stomach , i personally got an okay room , hair under pillows, a few stains , a horrible smell coming from outside that only affected my room and a strong smell of urine coming from the bathroom . Others in my group had much worse rooms containing a lot more hair , stains , qnd pungent smells aswell as an item trhat hadnt been removed from the previous ocupants. Lots of cobwebbs and dead flys in windows however very nice grounds around the property , improvements to be done and definatly improve cleaning but otherwise it is not the worst place to stay and I would like to return to visit the pods due to the lovely reviews would have to convince my husband though haha.

Went here and it was definitely great. The rooms were great with a toilet and shower inside. A downside though is that some rooms may have to share toilets with another room. There was also a gaming room with Pool, Ping Pong and a Football Table. Also great food and also a tv with news coverage. 5 Stars for everything.

Great hostel in a lovely old building with everything you'd expect from one of the better YHAs. Well looked after and very impressed with the bar and the breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend trying to get a room on a lower floor if it's hot, as these old buildings don't have great insulation and our room was sweltering. Going to be more of a problem as Britain warms up! The staff did provide a small fan for what it was worth. WiFi was non-existant on the 2nd floor and data reception was bad. I'd love to see this rectified in future but otherwise very much recommended. Thanks!
