YHA Waitomo Juno Hall

oh what a perfect place to spend the last night of my trip! LOVED this place. views were stunning, the staff were so friendly and helpful, giving a full tour of the site. used the pool, which was an added bonus and super close drive to waitomo caves! the kitchen was well equipped and clean, with lots of social space, camping space and HOT showers — would recommend to anyone! i had an unpowered campsite for my van, and was only $17! such great value

From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding — incredibly friendly, full of great humor, and genuinely customer-focused. You can really feel that the team cares about their guests and goes the extra mile to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. The location is perfect, the kitchen is superbly equipped with everything you could possibly need, and the showers are spotless and well maintained. Everything is thoughtfully organised and impeccably clean, which makes a huge difference when travelling. A special bonus: they have the sweetest dog on the property, and the place is truly pet-friendly and kids-friendly, making it ideal for families and travellers with animals. We truly couldn’t ask for more — this place sets the bar very high. Highly, highly recommended! 🐶✨

One of the friendliest places we have stayed in on our nz camping road trip, there was always such a home feel about the shared kitchen and living space like it was someone’s living room. Such a lovely outdoor space surrounded with there animals and trees. Very clean shower and toilet spaces!! Would definitely recommend

I highly recommend this place. The staff are very kind, helpful, and understanding. The place is clean and has a great atmosphere, with a well-equipped kitchen and a wonderful space for spending time together. An additional attraction is the animals around the property, making it a perfect place for families with children and also pet-friendly. We stayed only one night, but we would have loved to stay longer if it hadn’t been for our tight travel schedule. Another big advantage is the close proximity to many attractions. I sincerely recommend it.

Genuinely the cleanest and most well put together hostel I’ve stayed in so far. Dave is probably the funniest and most chill receptionist I’ve met super helpful and just a great guy to talk to. His dog Jorge is also incredibly friendly and adorable. As for the hostel itself it’s close to flawless. The layout, cleanliness, and overall setup are exactly how all hostels should be. If Waitomo had more to do I would’ve stayed longer without hesitation.

We didn’t stay at this accommodation but we did visit after our trip with Spellbound. Very generous to allow us to come bottle feed the lambs, feed Snowdrop, and meet the pigs. It was a highlight of our trip and we are very grateful to have had the opportunity to come visit. Premises were clean and organized. Would imagine a stay here would have been very wonderful. Unfortunately we already had a paid reservation prior to our arrival in the Waitomo area. Amazing experience to have visited and would recommend a stay!

Friendly, comfy, fabulous beds, great kitchen, great lounge for chilling or chatting, gorgeous outlook Loved the pet lambs and pigs. Kudos to Dave and Anna, they run a tip top establishment under the benevolent leadership of George the Jack Russell.

We had a great night here! Everything was very clean, we loved swimming in the pool and we loved watching the farm animals as well. Super friendly and helpful service from our host.
