Charming stay at a historic YHA by a beautiful lake—perfect for a swim! Beds are small but comfortable, and the friendly staff make you feel at home. A cozy spot with a fantastic, scenic location.|Food was limited with Pizza and soup but apart from that it’s self catering with appropriate equipment.

One of the best locations for a YHA. A no-network zone indeed so need to be prepared accordingly. If you arrive at the place after 10AM, you may not be able to enter as the place opens up after 5PM. Although if you are already checked in and you have the code, it's not a problem. Has variety of breakfast options with the continental one being the cheapest complimentary option. Room service is decent. It looks an old Victorian Era lodge/house converted to YHA. They don't provide towels and toiletries. Bunk beds are neat and clean. Recommended by me✌️

A beautiful place to stay, fantastic views across Wast Water and lovely old building with ornate fireplaces and ceilings. It was warm and cosy. Our host Mike was great. Very welcoming and went out of his way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

Had a lovely couple days here on the banks of Wast Water, the views right on your doorstep are as good as anywhere you will find. If you l love stand up paddling or wild swimming there is a little walkway taking you straight into the water. Free parking right outside and there weren't any issues for finding a space. I was in a dorm of 8 - not ideal as i prefer bit more privacy. Shower blocks and toilets onsite were nice and clean and showers hot not luke warm! Nice size drying room downstairs and breakfast was good. Definitely be back in the future, the staff do an amazing job here, credit to YHA.

One of the most beautiful places I've been to. Scenery second to none, very clean rooms, toilets and showers. Great staff Mike, Sally Ann and James nothing was too much for them including getting the log fire up and running in the library 5*****

Such wonderful staff absolutely made the holiday exceptional. They were interested in what we were doing and gave advice using extensive local knowledge. Made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

Wonderful hostel in a wonderful location. It is a beautiful old hall and absolutely exhibits the ethos of a traditional YHA hostel. The staff were really friendly and helpful, we met some great people and breakfast was plentiful and tasty. We would love to go back sometime.

Well to be fair we visited the site but not the establishment. Great area, great location and I’m sure great establishments. On the banks of the Wast Water Lake with stunning views 360 degrees.
