The teahouse is a friendly, wonderful and authentic place to experience a traditional Kung Fu style tea ceremony. The owner, together with his mother and sister, are very friendly and competent. They take their time to explain the chinese tea culture in deep detail and are very welcoming. I recommend the tea workshop to get to know the traditions and the wonderful people working in the Yixing Xuan Teahouse!

My wife and I went for the tea appreciation workshop and we were attended by Ian, the founder's son. He was extremely delightful, knowledgeable and articulate. We've learned so much about tea, it's history, the different types and also many other random fun facts too. After all the learning you get to try the different types of tea through what is called "Kungfu tea", basically a social activity to brew and drink tea. It was super fun and the teas were delicious. We also ordered the red bean pancake which was fantastic too. Overall I highly recommend the workshop for friends and family to come down and learn and appreciate more about tea. Or for tea drinkers or people who want to try new teas it's a fantastic place to just chill and drink some tea.

I actually stumbled upon this quaint little tea house quite by chance. I had some time to spare before picking my wife up from the therapist, and stepped into this place for a cuppa. As luck would have it, I found a gem of a place for Chinese teas. Well. I'm no connoisseur of tea, but the one the young lad recommended me had a very smooth and pleasant taste, with hints of earl grey and a residual sweetness at the back of my mouth after awhile. It paired perfectly with my Char Siew Pau too! I loved the ambience of this little tea house, which had a Huge selection and collection of teas and all things tea... What I really liked about this place was how enthusiastic the young lad who served me was. He was ready to entertain my queries and he knew his stuff (or should I say teas?). Well I came back with my wife this evening after dinner nearby, and this time, we were greeted by a very nice lady-owner, Gladys, who patiently ran through some of the nuances of Chinese Teas with me, and recommended a nice one to my wife, who does drink tea by the way. Like the man said in the movies, I'll Be Back😉

Super chill teahouse that is worth a visit! The DOPA Oolong was very fragrant, would definitely recommend getting this for the taste, if not for its health benefits (it helps improve sleep quality). Their hot tea is pretty worth as it comes with refills. Service was really good as well, the staff were more than willing to give recommendations and constantly checked if we had sufficient hot water in the flask.

A very wonderful tea experience! One of the staff was really enthusiastic about tea, and happily explains about them. Great knowledge and passion. He was also very friendly! I am thankful for my friend for bringing us here. Great tea selection! When I return to SG, I’d come back here!

I’ve always wanted to try this place but always worried if it’s only for tea connoisseurs. Pleasantly surprised once I stepped in that it was a very casual vibe. The dimsum was surprisingly good, I had the hargow, siu mai, pancake. I ordered the white tea which was very very good, and it went really well with the dimsum. Will definitely be back again! 😃

Attended the workshop this afternoon and had a really fun time exploring different types of tea with Yvonne. Very informative (we took notes!) for anyone who is interested in tea-drinking as you'll get to learn how to brew a perfect cup during the session. Dimsum was delicious too and paired well with the tea. Will definitely revisit again with family and friends :)

My partner found this teahouse that is tucked away in the heart of Chinatown and what a gem it is! This small teahouse is a treasure trove for tea enthusiasts. The family-owned business has an impressive selection of over 30 premium Chinese teas. We took a while before deciding on Yinzhen Baihao (white tea) and GABA Oolong in Kungfu style, with the help of the staff who are friendly and incredibly knowledgeable, and happy to guide us through their extensive menu. We were able to identify soya bean notes from the Yinzhen Baihao especially after 4-5 rounds of it! And that is why tea appreciation takes time to uncover flavours not noticed before. On a different spectrum, GABA Oolong has a darker brown shade in colour and a fruity taste to it. Kungfu style means that they provide you a full tea set which includes a tea sea, tea pot, glass fair jug, tea cups and a kettle of water with a warmer, for us to better appreciate the tea by going through the process ourselves. Ian explained that Kungfu refers to the skills and precision to master the art. The tea leaves were weighed precisely, and the staff provided water of different temperatures as Oolong required hotter water for brewing. A sweet lady surprised us with a tea pet to let us enjoy the tea brewing and have some fun. To top it off, we were served a complimentary cold-brewed GABA Oolong brewed over three days, and it was a game changer. We agreed that having the cold brew right after we finished our hot GABA Oolong tasted refreshing as the chill goes well with the fruity flavours. To those who are making your way there- run, don’t walk. But check their Instagram first in case they are holding large-group workshops, they might not be open for tea drinking. Their workshops (min 2 pax) are a full package for those who will like to know the A to Z of tea appreciation, or those looking for a date idea! For your best experience, take your time exploring the menu and don't hesitate to ask the staff for recommendations. Be sure to try their signature teas, and consider purchasing some to take home.
