This was the venue of our dreams! We got married at Columbine Point on 9/28/2025 and had our reception at Legett. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect space. It was up in the mountains with amazing views & it was such a tranquil and serene place to celebrate our big day. Thousands of aspens were turning on the YMCA property @ the time of our wedding. Also - the venue coordinator (Stephanie) was so kind and responsive and helpful. She was wonderful to work with. 10/10 - Highly Recommend!

Me and my family of 6 had a wonderful stay at YMCA of the Rockies. The amenities were a little sparse but for the price it kind of hard to beat. We went in the fall and I can't say enough about how beautiful the location is. The amount of playgrounds and ease of access make the grounds very child friendly. The hiking trails are wonderful, nothing too extreme but difficult enough to feel a sense of accomplishment. Wildlife were abundant. I even had a harrowing experience encountering a ull moose while walking a trail in the morning. Overall great experience.

This is a really fun, beautiful place to visit. Everyone enjoyed it, kids and adults alike. My three-year old granddaughter loved the big slide as did the adults, myself included! I didn't realize it sprayed water as you go down which wasn't a big deal, just a surprise. We stayed in a five bedroom cabin plus. It had a huge dining table, full kitchen, and large living room. It was clean and comfortable. The lower level had a bunk room of sorts, a bathroom, and another bedroom with an adjacent bathroom. I was unsure from the description how many bathrooms a five bedroom cabin would have. I was pleasantly surprised that it had four full baths, which helped a lot. Our friends stayed in a five-bedroom across the road. While I have no complaints about ours, I did notice that theirs had some upgrades, so know that not all of the cabins are the same. That really doesn't matter, however, as we spent most of our time outside the cabin. The staff was friendly and helpful. We ate once at the Buckboard, which was laid back and had good food. We went to the grocery store in Granby on our first day to get food for the majority of our meals. It was a nice store with decent prices. I would visit again. The views are amazing. I recommend scoping out Columbine Point. We took a family photo up there which provided an incredible backdrop.

We arrived around 5:15 PM to check-in after a full morning of hiking in the National Park. We already ate and wanted to grab a nap. The moment we walked in our Lodge lobby we heard a dog barking, and as we walked closer and closer to our room it became clear the dog was immediately next door to us. We thought maybe a few moments of us being quiet would allow the dog to calm down, but it just continued yapping. I called the front desk, there were no rooms left to move us to - I guess being the last arrivals, we got the “luck” of being placed next to the pet-friendly room. Oddly we were told upon check-in that we were given the ADA room (we didn’t ask for any accommodations) and upon check-out the gentleman told us he was unsure why they put the ADA room and the pet-friendly room next to one another, so even they are aware this is a potentially bad experience. That’s a really bad look had someone truly needed the accessible room and not been as able to float extra funds and move to a new hotel. I love animals. I don’t bring my own when I travel because they have separation anxiety and would 100% be the whining barking dog on the other side of the wall from strangers that don’t want to vacation with loud pets! The front desk said there was nothing they could do about the dog barking until quiet hours, and admitted they could hear it over the phone. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I guess the good news is we were refunded, but we were left driving another hour when all we wanted to do was crash after a long day. I’d suggest updating your pet policy to include well-behaved pets that are not a nuisance to other guests. Even had we not wished to rest, we couldn’t have relaxed on the patio or read easily either with the loud “yap” going on. I have videos, but no way to upload them here - rest assured, I rarely leave bad reviews or complain, but this was bad.

We had a wonderful stay with incredible views and outstanding service. The front office staff went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed, making our experience smooth and enjoyable. A special thank you to Stephanie M for her excellent care and attention to detail, she truly made us feel welcomed and valued. We would definitely recommend this place and look forward to coming back!

Our family loved purchasing the day passes from Snow Mountain Ranch. The office opens at 8:30 am and we got there about 8:15 am. You must get there early and purchase the passes the day of. When we purchased our passes we were able to schedule the tubing hill time. Our day was packed with fun. We play disc golf first. (I’d recommend downloading a disc golf app to see a map.) Then we did the tubing hill, craft shop and putt putt. At the craft shop we were able to purchase small crafts for our kids to do. There is also an awesome little park right by the tubing hill with a small zip line. I think our day at the YMCA was the highlight of our trip! We will be back soon and let all of our friends know about this treasure in Grandby.

Everything about this trip was positive. We were there for an annual family trip. Grandparents, kids and grandkids. The staff is phenomenal and made our trip so much fun. Everyone could participate in a choice of activities to their personal liking. Our cabin was overlooking the valley and mountains. Beautiful hanging out on the porch.

This is an amazing place for families with so many activities to do, many of them free when staying there. I can't wait to come year after year especially as my kids get older and can do more things. The location is stunning with mountains all around and so many areas to explore. We did the tubing hill which was free, mini golf, crafts and the waterfall hike. As for accommodations, I loved the lodge feel. The rooms were simple with plenty of room and everything we needed. We stayed in the Aspenbrook Lodge and my son loved the bunk bed. We ate dinner at the commons which gave me nostalgia for my college cafeteria. We arrived after our afternoon hike and could immediately sit down, fill our plates and belly with lots of food and drink. Overall, we loved our stay and will recommend it to all of our friends looking for a family friendly place in a beautiful surrounding. Any finally, I loved how you have everything you need here, and nothing you don't; like TV, A/C, fancy rooms, michelin rated restaurants, etc. It's authentic and perfect.

Yelp
A perfect family retreat, Snow Mountain Ranch had everything our young ones needed to have a fun filled, adventurous, and memorable time. The cabins are comfortable, and the kitchen come mostly furnished with what you need to prepare simple meals. WiFi available through the ranch. There are ample activities for all kids 2-92. Ours especially enjoyed the summer sledding hill. The zip line was also popular, as were horseback riding and mini golf. It is now late season and a number of activities were closed - canoes, the pool. However there was so much to do, we did not really miss these. There was so much we didn't get to but ran out of time -- craft room, roller-skating, hikes. There are restaurants available. The place is beautiful, can't wait to go back for fall leaf season or winter sports.

Yelp
The good: reasonably priced and great for big groups! Family friendly with lots of fun activities for all ages! We had a group of 62 adults and kids and it was perfect for our reunion. There are plenty of great hikes around, lots of beautiful nature to explore! There are included activities and then activities that you can pay extra for. For example archery was $12/person extra. The not so great: it can get a bit warm during the day in the summer. The rooms do not have AC. The entire property is pretty big so need to drive around to the different areas and activities. Our room the mini fridge door wasn't closing properly. The shower drains are a bit slow. There are no tvs in the lodges. Also the supplied soap is a bit harsh, it's supposed to be used for hand/body/shampoo. Overall it's a nice place and had exactly what we needed!

Yelp
This had to be the best "Father/son" staycation ever. We fished, hiked and rode electric mountain bikes on the endless trails. The people I. The mountain communities are the best in Colorado, I highly recommend this and the yurts especially.

Yelp
Went here for a retreat this summer. The grounds were nice, but buildings are in need of some maintenance. They are near good hiking and the town of Granby and Grand Lake. We stayed in a lodge and rooms were ok. You need to bring your own shampoo. The food at the dining hall was reminiscent of my army days. After traveling all day, we wanted to get into our rooms and change/ freshen up. The desk was supposed to have our keys at 4. It was 7 before we got them. The next day, we were told we had to get new keys and again could not get into our rooms. This was most annoying. Luckily, our group had a conference room, so we weren't standing around with our luggage and no place to go. My biggest beef was there isn't supposed to be drinking in the common areas. And quiet hours begin at 10. Friday night a group was at the fire pit outside our room. We had balcony door open (no air). They were loud and drinking. At 12:30, I called the main number. She said they had one person who could talk to them. At 1:30 my roommate called and was told...well it IS Friday night. Someone finally came at 2:20. We had a sunrise hike in the RMNP. The company of our group was awesome, however, don't think I would recommend.

Yelp
With a group of friends, we have been coming to Snow Mountain Ranch every winter for 8 or more years. We come in the middle of winter to cross-country ski and cook and hang out and we have a fabulous time despite the conditions of the cabin and awful food at the restaurant. I will probably come back, but I'm writing this so maybe I'll remember not to. The cabins we stay in are so poorly kept. I think the carpet has seen 100,000 feet and the bedding is long past its lifetime. In every cabin, something breaks every year. The heater fails or it is so noisy it wakes you up, it's hot upstairs and freezing downstairs, or the oven fails, or the water heater doesn't heat. And for the general amenities, the pool is often broken. The yoga and the arts & crafts are actually really great. And the outdoors can't be beat (that's why we go!). This place is a treasure but it really, really needs more than maintenance, it's needs some love, care and money put back into it. Make reservations for things like archery early (as soon as you know you are going), and never, ever, eat at the restaurant.

Yelp
I attended Snow Mountain during July for a retreat. Pros: its beautiful there. Mountains, wildlife, wild flowers. Brisk mountain mornings and tons of activities (zip lining, horseback riding, crafts). We had a dedicated fire pit. Meals were included and served in a common building, buffet style, on site. There is a great little coffee shop (latte anyone? Yes please!) with sandwiches, yogurt, and smoothies. The gift shop carries staples like shampoo and toothpaste, plus water bottles, t-shirts, hoodies and interesting affordable souvenirs and gifts. Cons: no air conditioning! The buildings, like our meeting area and dining, was a bit of a walk. We had to have our group do many many private vehicle "shuttles" to carry the disabled members between buildings. Resort prices without resort amenities. This would be a great family destination. It was great for our 60+ attendees. Not sure I would stay here on a personal visit or vacation. I wish I had rented a car. I am disabled and felt dependent on our group to get me to meals and our group activities. But my mobility issues are my issue and not critical to my review of this stunning mountain venue. Just go. Just be. Just savor everything everything around you. Its beautiful and enchanting and healing.

Yelp
Not to be missed! Stayed here for family reunion. Great option as a destination for family reunions because it's affordable, plenty of fun and family friendly activities onsite, variety of lodging options, and the ranch offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snow Mountain Ranch is nestled on 5100 acres. About 2 hour drive north of Denver, CO and roughly 7.5 hours east driving from Salt Lake City, UT. We had a few rooms reserved for our group in the Silversage Lodge, 24 people total. There's yurts, campsites, and also cabins available. The lodges are similar to hotel setup with rooms. It's a cozy older ski lodge type feel, it's not new or updated but it comes with a fridge, microwave and shower/tub. Decent pressure and hot water. The room my family stayed in comes with a queen bed, and 2 bunk beds that can sleep up to 6 people in a room. I liked how I could be outdoors all day but still sleep on a bed, have access to hot water, and be fed a hot meal at end of the day outside. There is a foyer in the lodge so it was a good meetup spot for our reunion to congregate. There is no AC in the rooms but they do have fans and the weather wasn't hot in July, usually it was cool in evenings. Nice to smell the fresh mountain air and listen to the birds in the morning. The lodge is walking distance to the dining hall. We hiked trails, did swimming, mini golf, roller skate, pool/air hockey, arts and crafts, rock climbing, tubing downhill. The Kiva activity center offered roller skating on a wood floor, basketball, volleyball, badminton, ping pong, foosball, pool table, air hockey. Most of the activities are included with the stay but some activities you have to reserve the activity time in advance such as the tubing downhill. The hiking trails are private to the YMCA and they are well maintained trails. We did pay extra for arts and crafts but they are very reasonable prices, you can do things like mosaics, ceramics painting, and small leather projects. Kids love this and it's great to walk over from the lodge to the craft center and work together on a craft with them. The lodges don't have TV but you can bring your electronics and there's Wi-Fi if you wanted to watch a show during your downtime. Would be nice if there were hottubs on site but the ranch is more of a summer camp experience than a ski resort experience. Not having to worry about cooking and cleanup for a large group of people was a huge plus! The dining hall does cafeteria style/buffet meals. Nothing fancy but it's a meal and you get fed, all you can eat with unlimited drinks, so we'd show up, grab our food and sit down together as a family. The menu rotates daily, so you can get 3 hot meals each day. Definitely 5 stars and a gem of a location. The staff is mostly young people working for the season. They were always at work, keeping things organized and clean and represent very well the YMCA mission of building community and togetherness. It was a great stay for our group! Highly recommend and would consider returning.

Yelp
If you book this place, you'll want to because it's affordable, family friendly, and has a multitude of indoor and outdoor activities to keep the family entertained with close proximity to RMNP. The views were also incredible too, and wildlife frequently roamed the grounds. We rented one of the hotel rooms- it is what it is- fairly basic- mini fridge is the only appliance, no tv/microwave, which is fine, we didn't stay in the room very much during our stay. The room was clean, and looked fine, wasn't run down or anything. The food is about what you'd expect- we only ate breakfast on site and opted to eat in town for dinners. What would've made the stay better? The biggest annoyance was the check in time @ 6pm, which is super late, and doesn't allow for much day 1. While you could use the amenities while you wait, it would be nice to unload the car and free up some space and feel "settled in". Also, the temperature was a bit tricky to regulate. We were there during winter, and had the heat set to 68, but it stayed elevated closer to 76, so we had to crank up the fan. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would come back!

Yelp
Our first Yurt camping experience and loved it. The Yurt has everything we needed and you can't beat looking out your window from bed to see the sun beginning to rise and hear coyotes in the distance. We were hear during the wildfires so we couldn't use the provided fire pit but that's not there fault. There are many great activities on the property to include an indoor pool and hiking trails. We did an early evening hike and saw a fox and a moose just before the sun had set completely. He was on the path we were walking about 25 yards away. We all stared at each other for a bit and we decided that was a good time for us to turnaround and let the moose do it's thing. Lastly, props YMCA for housing the fire fighters and their Incident Center.

Yelp
We have been visiting Snow mountain ranch for 20 years. Snow Mountain Ranch has a wide range of family activities a mini golf course, indoor pool, tennis courts, biking/hiking/cross-country ski trails and many more. You can also sign up for activities like archery, climbing wall, zip lines, ... We used to sign up for these activities when the kids were younger. We go a lot during winter. The trail system is great and they have really good snow. The staff in the nordic center is friendly. There is a waxing room upstairs. There is a lounge area around the fireplace for resting. Lodging is basic but affordable. The lodges can be quite noisy as they are often stormed by group of teenagers.

Yelp
We went to Snow Mountain Stables for a wagon scenic ride. It's part of the YMCA of the Rockies but they have a separate website that allow you to book your ride. Got to say that the wagon ride was bumpy. It takes you up with a gorgeous view, the you get to roast marshmallow and drink some hot chocolate. My daughter had fun. You can take pics with the horses. They also offer 1,2,4 hour horse back riding tour as well. Just search up Snow mountain Stables and you have all your info there.

Yelp
Several years coming here and now just reviewing....we love this spot. Cabins are best to stay in, and if you have kids, try to stay toward the center of the complex. Lots of activities for them (and you). Fireplace cabins are worth it, if you like s'mores and fires! Minus one star because the food ain't great. Go to town and patronize the local restaurants--I've reviewed many.

Yelp
Will never return. Booking.com said pet friendly, so I called directly to find out the pet fee. What neither your site, nor their front desk told me was that the pet fee only applies to specific rooms. So, when we checked in after a long day of driving, I had to upgrade to a pet friendly room, which was $100 more than the family room I booked and had less beds. Then we discovered the rooms did not have air conditioning, a coffee maker or a TV. I have never booked a room that didn't have these amenities. This is the second time I have not gotten what I booked with booking.com and I will never use your site again! After checking in we discovered that both the window screen and the sliding door screen were broken. We had to delay getting dinner to resolve this problem. We were then told to move to another room, which was on the other end of the building with no assistance. Overall one of the worst experiences I have ever had on a trip!

Yelp
Stayed one night with family member in the Indian Peaks lodge. The pros: The beds were comfortable and our room had a great view of the mountains. The grounds are beautiful. There is easy access to good hiking trails and it is a short drive to Fraser to find food. The cons: check-in is 6 pm and check-out is 10 pm. The breakfast buffet at the Commons was as bad as buffets get. There were no coffee cups. The eggs and hashbrowns were cooler than room temperature. The French toast was tough yellow bread rather than bread soaked in egg before being cooked, and it was cold.

Yelp
Great place to play and stay. Love to X-country ski there as well as ice skate, roller skate, and tube. Summer activities are also wonderful for the entire family. Don't miss the craft room!

Franky K.

Yelp
While it does look rustic, do not be fooled. This is a gem in the rough. The people were super nice. The private spa was relaxing and rejuvenating. Would my wife be able to get past the rustic nature, I would certainly try to make this part of a vacation.

Serafin N.

Yelp
There are a lot of fun activities for kids. The rooms are fairly clean, but not great. My issue with Snow Mountain Ranch is maintenance of the facilities. The key phrase for your stay has been "out of order"... Half of the laundry room (even the change machine), the ice maker on our hall, the ENTIRE drink area in the cafeteria (no discount, of course), parts of the mini-golf courses, etc. Now, I get that things break, however, when you look out of your balcony to see massive amounts of construction and new buildings, it is extremely frustrating that many basic services and facilities are "Out of Order, Sorry for the Inconvenience". With as much as this place charges for rooms and as many different camps have dozens of kids running around, it is not like money is an issue for the Y. We stayed here because the kids asked. We won't be returning.

Yelp
YMCA of the Rockies is a great and inexpensive place to enjoy Colorado's outdoors. I've been here on numerous occasions for summer camps, retreats, and conferences. The facilities are good considering we are in the middle of the Rocky Mountains. You have the choice between winter lodges and hotel style living. They have cafeterias that serve decent food. There are so many outdoor activities such as archery, zip lining, land tubing, hiking, and volleyball. They also have an activity center where you can roller skate, play ping pong, play basketball, and indulge in arts and crafts. There are dirt roads and trails that connect buildings and activities, so you always have a great hike! I highly recommend YMCA of the Rockies to families who are looking to get their children out in nature. Check them out!

Yelp
We just got back from our first trip to Snow Mountain Ranch. We showed up on a Saturday and left on a Monday. We stayed at Indian Peak Lodge and were very happy with our stay. I wasn't sure how it would be without AC, but it wasn't that bad at all. They supply a fan in the room and that helps with getting the air moving and with noise. I was pleasantly surprised how cozy the beds were! Even at 5 star hotels, my body normally hurts from the bed. These beds were SO comfortable! The ranch overall had a very laid back, easy going feel. The food in the cafeteria was pretty scary looking, so we opted for the pizza shop at the entrance. The pizza was good, but the fries tasted like they came out of the microwave. We were happy to see they offered gluten free pizza though! We only ate one meal at the resort due to lack of options and not so great quality. Luckily the neighboring town is literally down the street. We spent all day at the resort on Saturday (except for dinner) and had a great time doing the tubing! The tubing is what got me interested in the resort in the first place. It was SO much fun. We could have done it all day! We also enjoyed putt-putt, the rec center, and the beaver hike. Sunday morning we went on a little hike by the lake and then a canoe ride. It was gorgeous. great views. Then we headed to neighboring Winter Park to spend the day there. We had a blast there! I will post more about that on their yelp page, but if you go to SMR, make sure to go over to WP for one of your days! I will definitely go back to SMR. My only complaint would be that we were there on a weekend and their activities list was about half of what it was during the week. I did find us a little "bored". I would have loved to seen the huskies or the lamas or do a camp fire. I don't understand why they would have less options on the weekends. If we had stayed at SMR for both days, we would have been bored for sure.

Yelp
Everything was closed during the weekday (off season) but the area was still beautiful. Dog park was clean and large. The laundry facility was clean but two dryers didn't work. However, the tubing made it worth it. The staff were friendly and the event was well organized. We also went to the "gold mine" and the hike was beautiful and it was amazing to go into the mine.

Yelp
This was our first family vacation to Snow Mountain Ranch, and it won't be our last! We came here with another family who comes here frequently for the nordic skiing. If you are a nordic skier, this is one of the best places near Denver to do it. The trails are amazing and well-groomed, you can see all sorts of wildlife, and there's a good nordic center with rentals and gear for sale. I'm a moderately mediocre skier, but an enthusiastic winter adventurist, nevertheless. I really enjoyed having lots of options for things to do and the ability to rent gear. We brought our snowshoes and did the snowshoe trails one morning. We also rented fat tire bikes and did that another afternoon. Plus there's an ice skating rink, tubing hill, and indoor swimming pool - all included in the price of your room. We stayed in the lodge and the rooms were decent and clean. No TVs, which I enjoyed, but there is WiFi in case you need access to the interwebs. They have soap, but not shampoo or lotion in the rooms, so bring your own. Our friends sagely recommended that we bring a small humidifier - it is very dry in the lodge. The lodge had a communal room with a large, cozy fireplace, games, coffee/tea/soda machine, and lots of seating. When you stay in a lodge, your breakfast in the dining hall is free. It's a buffet, and sort of reminds me of my many summers spent at a YMCA summer camp. It's basically a step above camp dining hall breakfast. Lots of choices of cereal, which my daughter loved. PRO TIP: fill up your water bottles at breakfast - the lodge rooms have shallow sinks, so it's hard to fill up there. Another PRO TIP: Breakfast is all you can eat. Take a coffee cup and fill it up with cereal and then grab some fruit on your way out. You can also fill up a thermos with hot tea or chocolate. Snacks and warm drinks for later! I thought that the staff were pretty friendly overall, although many of the staff seemed to be very young and maybe a little inexperienced. But we didn't have a single bad interaction with anyone, and most staff members were helpful. We stayed in-season in the Aspenbrook lodge. Our room had 2 queen beds and a bunk bed. It would be big enough to accommodate six people, if you wanted to squish, but it's definitely big enough for most families - even larger families. In-season, our room ran about $150/night with tax. I thought it was a pretty fair deal for a big room, free breakfast, and free activities. Trail access is free if you are staying on-site! We would definitely return for a winter getaway and probably a summer one too. The views are SPECTACULAR, and the access to snow sports, wildlife viewing, and hiking cannot be beat.

Yelp
DO NOT EAT AT THE CAFETERIA! With that out of the way, we really enjoyed our time here! The cabins were nice and the kitchens well stocked and bug-free. Keep your curtains shut when you're out during the day to keep things cooler. Also, their tea kettle is a danger, bring your own. :-D The free activities such as the pool, golf, etc. were fun and worthwhile. We did the hike to the Waterfall which is really worth it! Hanging with the Huskies was a great opportunity to chill and meet some pups. The paid activities were largely well worth the small price. Archery was a unique experience I was happy to get to do, rock climbing is really fun and our kids really took to it (and we're looking into options close to home now), the Tubing Hill was a lot of silly fun and there's more. Including the zip line...which was ungodly terrifying. If you're afraid of heights, well, I warned you. #SketchyLadder On property, the food could be better. The cafeteria is a must avoid. It's way too expensive and the food is--uh--bad. The on-site Grill is better, but is basically fried bar food. Still...it was good. Great fries, too. Nearby, we stuck mostly to Winter Park. Hernando's Pizza Pub was SUPER good and Smoke House made for some dandy barbecue. I recommend them both highly! We'll be back again maybe someday!

Yelp
Loved our stay! Our girls had so much fun on the play sets and exploring the campground. Yes the rooms are very camp style with no TV's but it forces you to get out. We were only there for two nights for a wedding but we loved it and it was much cheaper than any other hotel nearby. Highly recommend for anyone with little ones!

Yelp
Staff was pretty helpful. All signs sat facilities are open. But nothing was. Cabin poor clean and old food in the frig. I understand this is not a 5 star resort. But facilities and organization was way below basic standards. Will never be back.

Yelp
Please stop recommending Snow Mountain Stables. We trusted your recommendation and didn't realize until we had already booked a sleigh ride that you were not affiliated with the company. They are a total scam! We are still waiting to hear back from the stables 6 weeks after our sleigh ride was canceled.

Yelp
This came up on Hotels.com for Presidents Day weekend. Very reasonable. It's 5000 acres with non stop family activities. We had other things planned and only needed a place to stay but will come again just to enjoy things on site. Very reasonable. Clean. Family room had 2 queens and a twin bunk bed for $80. No tv in room, which was fine. Free WiFi. Sorry I didn't do pics.

Yelp
Day 1:They don't have country potatoes. Other than that it's alright, but they don't have country potatoes for breakfast. (Edit) Day 2: They had potatoes but they weren't country I'll keep y'all posted. (Edit) Day 3: They brought out the country potatoes but I had to wait. Update- They were mediocre

Yelp
Fantastic place to stay and have family time. Horse stables are a must: staff is professional and kind. Our kids got to feed cookies to the horses and the two hour trail ride was breathtaking. And the food...awesome. We thought about eating in town but passed as the meals were five star. Tasted wonderful and was fresh; just what was needed after a day of playing. Archery, zip lines, hill tubing, and the craft shop. All the people were helpful and kind. Would recommend walkers for the skate area as two new skaters were hurt trying out the roller skates. Otherwise, who could complain about being outside in Colorado.

Yelp
You cant best snow mountain ranch for things to do! Snow shoeing, tubing, arts n crafts, hiking, etc. We stay at the aspen brook lodge for 81 a night including breakfast. The new spruce park is fun for kids. Some time for family reunion were going to get a cabin in the future. The cafeteria is a convenience option but dont rule out going to Fraser or granby. 5 star because of the value and you c as n stay longer at the rates than Airbnb or verbo.

Yelp
So many fun things to do for families during the winter! Both indoor and outdoor activities. We enjoyed making crafts, rollerskating, playing basketball, watched a live music show, and bingo. The Buckboard Grill was delicious and reasonably priced. We came for the day and there was plenty to do all day long! The staff was all very friendly!

Yelp
Accommodations are excellent for group retreats, reunions etc. Staff is very good. Food is mediocre on a good day.

Yelp
This would have been a pleasurable event except we were greeted with a grouchy employee. "You're 15 minutes late!" is not the way you greet a paying customer. I explained that the signage was almost non-existent once on the YMCA property, and he argued that the signage was fine. REALLY? Why would I lie? I was already frustrated about the difficulty in finding the stables, and now the person I was paying $400 was calling me a liar. When one of our group was concerned over the behavior of the horse her daughter was on, our group leader just looked back and said it's probably fine. It turned out to be fine, but she didn't even go check. The entire ride was a constant stop and go. Boring and uncomfortable. There were 3 pregnant horses in our group. The employees said they need the exercise but I'm pretty sure there are better ways to exercise a pregnant horse than a trail ride. All in all I would NOT recommend this stable. There are plenty of others in the area. I expected more from a YMCA camp.

Yelp
We stayed at the campground for a few days for one of our boy's baseball tournaments the end of June. The campground was neat and the hookups were nice, but the showers were really gross. We had a terrible experience!!! The staff was you d and clueless! Beware if you let your kids use the tubing hill. Here is what happened to our little 4 year old son... our last day there out 4 boys (13,11,10 & 4) asked if they could walk to the tubing hill and check it out. The hill was about 1/4 Mile or so from the campground so we allowed them to go while we packed up. The boys went to the hill and were allowed to ride (without parental consent or a signed waiver... which is required) so the staff is NOT checking if the kids are allowed to ride. They had tubes attached to one another with a rope (one large tube and one small tube). After a few rides down the hill my 13 year old and 4 year old were getting ready to go down the hill again(in the attached tubes) my 13 sat in the tube and as my 4 year old went to sit in the tube the attendant (named Lindsey) pulled the tubes and sent them down the hill! The problem was that the 4 year old had not been allowed to fully sit down in the tube and was sent flying out! Head first!!! He scraped his face all the way down the hill, rolled and tumbled until my 13 year old son was able to stop and grab him and hold him in his tube. The attendant named Lindsey shouted "that's why you need to hold on!" And then proceeded the send other kids down the hill! Not once did they check on him. My boys were then allowed to just leave the tubing hill and proceed to walk back to camp. The 11 year old called me crying that the little one was bleeding and was really hurt and they were WALKING back to camp. I could hear the 4 year old crying and we go to them in the car. We then took the boys back to the hill to ask "what or how and why" the staff (all about 16) said that they thought he was "ok since he was with his brothers". I asked for bandages and we left to the front office. There at the main office I spoke with a manager. She seemed genuinely concerned and gave us more ointment and bandages. She later sent an email to follow up and see if he was ok... My concerns are this... We did NOT sign a waiver saying that our kids could tube down a turf hill at 30+mph... What if my son had suffered a concussion? And they would have sent him walking down the road... what if they staff member does it again and breaks a little kids neck? The lack of concern for his well being was astounding... I will attach photos of AFTER I had cleaned him up. He had blood all on his face, forehead and his nose was bleeding. A few days later he was bruised really bad on his face, arms and back, and it took weeks for the scabs to heal... and he was only 4 and was tested with such disregard!

Yelp
I almost never leave a negative review.... however: if you come here-there are elements that are extremely fun, as well as aspects that need serious improvement. The tubing hill is amazing, as is the playground. Fantastic for toddlers. However, the cafeteria was a serious "D-." Selection was odd, dinner seemed all reused. Two kinds of cous cous? Cauliflower mixed with green peppers as the side veggie? Breakfast was fake eggs, microwave bacon. Coffee is saving grace (C+). The food was rough AND all three of us got food poisoning to boot. There was an older woman in the same situation, so I don't think we were alone. Other than that: room was ok, staff was mostly very kind, weather couldn't be helped....key demagnetized (a pain with two small toddlers and my husband at home), to go food person at cafe forgot soup spoons after it taking 20 minutes to get our soup (again with food poisoned toddlers). We tried to check out early and there was no assistance. Brutal. I'd shoot for the yurts and bring your own food or go for a day and stay elsewhere. If they shaped up the food options by even the tiniest bit, this place could get 4 stars. It has campy goodness and a great wholesome stop.

Yelp
We are YMCA members and this will be our 9th time time staying at YMCA of the Rockies, so I feel I can safely state an unbiased opinion. We stayed in a 4 bedroom cabin for two nights in late June. Pros: The mountains are beautiful. The staff is very friendly. We took a fabulous 2 hour bike ride. Cons: Our cabin, Buffalo, was dingy to say the least. I washed the windows and window screens in the kitchen myself as they were so dirty. There was mold in the downstairs bathroom and the linoleum was peeling up. There were mice droppings in some of the kitchen cabinets. The cabin needs some serious TLC. The light in the kitchen was burned out. The bedroom downstairs had no light bulb in the lamp. On the deck, the paint is peeling off the doors, picnic table and deck itself in large chunks. I expect YMCA cabins to be rustic, not gross. I've never had an issue with the Estes Park location. It seems as if Snow Mountain Ranch is the poor stepchild of the two--minimal landscaping and maintenance. My family flew out from Ohio for the vacation and I was sorely disappointed that this was what we ended up with. For $389/night I expect a basic level of cleanliness and upkeep. I'll stick with the Estes location from now on.

Yelp
Snow Mountain Ranch is part of the YMCA of the Rockies system. It has a summer camp, family vacation cabins with an activity program and for us, the highlight is their extensive xc ski trail system. We have been visiting here on and off since the 80's. We had not been here for more than a decade and thought we should try the trail system with a newer member of our family who had never been before. With a 3 day ski trip planned, we used this as our middle day as an alternative to our more regular location. And it was fun. Snow Mountain Ranch has lost a lot of their woodland appearance because of the insect devastation that much of the Colorado high country has suffered in the last decade. But the trees are coming back up, the trails still skiable, but with a changed vista if you have not been in a long time. Because it had been so warm the day before, we found some of the trails, especially the more sunny areas to be re-frozen from the day before and a bit icy. But that can be spring skiing anywhere in Colorado! The simpler trails suited me fine, then the rest of the group with better skills headed off to more adventurous terrain with better snow. One in our party did a rental fat bike tour later in the snowy afternoon. The staff in the nordic shop were helpful and friendly. There is a lounge area around the fireplace for resting and waiting, for those who quit early like me. It is old, simple, but serviceable. The cafeteria upstairs was closed on a Monday. Apparently they no longer serve even the most simple of soup and chili on Monday and Tuesday out of the holiday season as the demand doesn't warrant the staffing cost. But for those in need, it would be nice to at least have one of two crockpots available as the drive to Granby is about 15 minutes each way. There is supposedly a small cafeteria somewhere else on site, but as long as a drive is involved, it seemed a better option to go to to a recognized eatery. We certainly will ski here occasionally as variety is always nice.

Yelp
We had so much fun here! There are more activities than you can imagine, and most of them are included free with any kind of stay, some of them have a fee but it's not a huge amount ($5-$10). We went on the summer tubing hill and it was magic! You fly down the hill on a tube, and then a "magic carpet" brings you back to the top to do it again! It was really fun for people of all ages, not just kids, we saw some people in their 60+ going down and laughing all the way! The employees here are fabulous and fun! They are caring and kind. We also went on the zipline, did archery, went roller skating, played table tennis, went rock climbing, and more! All in 2 nights. The food is buffet food, which I am not a fan of, but the grill on campus was pretty good.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this place and we were very disappointed. We had a family reunion close to 30 people and stayed in the family lodging area. The cabin is very outdated and lacking in many ways. It was very hot in the cabin as well. There was also a mouse in the cabin. It just seemed to be disgusting I didn't want to touch anything in there. We went to eat at the little restaurant on campus there and no one was really in there yet we were told it was going to be at least 30 minutes for our food to be ready. The YMCA itself was very disorganized. You must schedule activities which takes away from the beauty of vacation - not being on a schedule! Also our times ranged scheduled for activists were moved. Once without notice as well. Also, we were told the cabin would be ready at 3 and it was not ready when we arrived at 3. We were told we would receive a call when it was ready and we never did. Also having a 22 month old was difficult as she could not do any of the activities. We had family members go to the pool and was told it was nasty. The only thing we truly enjoyed was the horseback riding and breakfast which is a complete separate entity from YMCA. Would not recommend spending the money to go here.

Yelp
Such a great deal for a mountain getaway! Five of us rented a yurt one Saturday night for a quick trip into the mountains. We couldn't have been more pleased with the Y! Here's why... - Amazing price - Yurt was clean, had electricity, and was within a stone's throw from flushing toilets and showers. - Our reservation came with a our own campfire spot, (clean!!) grill, and picnic table - and amazing sunset. - Even though there were three weddings going on at the Y, it was still pristine and relaxing.

Yelp
Spectacular does not describe this place. Amazing, jaw-dropping, soul-searching. move to the mountains! This place was awesome! The whole family is ready to move to Colorado because of this place. We have been to CO before, but this place is insane. The workers are 100% all-in and care about the families. The food is great, the activities are amazing, the staff is phenomenal, the views are breathtaking.

Yelp
Great place to spend the day with the family. Rock wall $5, archery $3, all day pass $15 for skating, basketball, floor hockey, ping pong, dodge ball, swimming and more. Also hiking, horse back riding, craft shop and camp fires. Plenty to do all year long. Stayed at Inn at Silver Creek about 5 minutes up the road.

Yelp
Only staying one night, thankfully. The check in is at 6 PM, which seems ridiculous. We got here a bit past 6. The front desk guy was nice enough, but new and was unsure about our questions, and did his best to answer them. We are staying in the silver sage lodge. The room smells weird. It is VERY LOUD, you can hear people in the hallway and people walking (or stomping) from above. Thankfully there is a fan in the room for some moving air and to drown out the sounds from the building. The bed is ok so far. The morning will be the test. We have breakfast vouchers, so we will see how that goes. And will cross country ski tomorrow and I will update on that as well.

Yelp
We had a family reunion here and it worked. They are very accommodating to your needs. It's all inclusive with the cafeteria style meals...not my cup of tea, but it worked with our group. Lots of activities...especially for the little ones. Room was clean and comfortable.

Yelp
While this place does have a fantastic campground, lots of fun activities, and for the most part a fairly helpful staff dedicated to enhancing your stay there is absolutely no excuse for the actual deer crap they feed campers at the cafeteria. Having to eat at this YMCA's cafeteria was not only a sickening experience but frankly a emotional and psychological torture experiment. There is no food item that has come out of that cafeteria that I would feel comfortable even feeding to my canine. So if you are contemplating whether or not to vacation at this campsite, I highly recommend you either 1) Bring your own food 2)travel into the nearest town for each meal 3) bring hunting gear to cook your own game 4) not eat for the entire stay. TO THE KITCHEN STAFF- DO BETTER!!! it is safe to say that your reckless culinary behavior is leaving a disgusting trail of absolutely decimated digestive systems. Thank you and God bless

Yelp
Dakota took us on a horseback ride on my father's 60th birthday. He was absolutely amazing, we will be back to ride with him. Thanks for a wonderful day!

Yelp
This review is specifically for the Archery session I had this past summer. Only two of their targets were set up with a group of 10+ people. Each individual only was allowed to shoot a couple times due to time restraint and lack of targets set up. The "instructor" was extremely unprofessional, gave zero to no instructions and was very distracted. She was more interested in her phone than the safety of the kids who were shooting. The bows and arrows were in horrible condition as well. Overall it was an extremely short experience with zero supervision.

Yelp
Got a cabin. We've been here before and it was great. Very disappointing this time. Cleanliness issues with pee on the toilets, 2 of which which wouldn't flush, and a shower that had soap and hair in the drain upon arrival. Shower was unsatisfying in pressure and heat. Beds uncomfortable (I'd guess 20 year old mattresses?) with a musty smell. Often befuddled or uninformed staff. They don't know pretty much anything, and will tell you they will call you back, but they never did on 3 occasions. Snow tubing hill was closed, which is a big reason we came in the first place. Again I called the front desk and Programs beforehand, and they said it was open. We drive down there with excited kids... Dog sledding was fun but had way too many people, and it was first come first serve, which they don't tell you. The presentation was like a sermon. Spectacular views, as usual. Kitchen works well. Fireplace works well. And the living rooms in all the cabins are generally amazing places to be. Overall, we'll probably give it one more chance. The potential is there, but if it's busy, you can pretty much forget about staff knowing how to stay on top of stuff. Side note, though it shouldn't really reflect on the venue itself: We didn't really like a lot of the people we ran into. Entitled, me-first, inconsiderate people with little regard for others. You hold the door for them and you get no acknowledgement. Almost got into two accidents on Nine Mile from idiots going 45mph around a curve in the dirt.

P C.

Yelp
Be aware! If you make a deposit for reservations and something happens that you can't go, including Covid, they are not gracious AT ALL. You will lose your deposit and possibly be penalized for any changes you make to your reservation! Read the fine print before paying and agreeing to their terms.

Yelp
I credit Snow Mountain Ranch as the reason my family lives in Colorado today. Growing up, it was my family's go-to summer vacation spot. As I got older, I really wanted to be closer to the place that granted me so many awesome memories of my childhood. While the pine beetle infestation has completely devastated the trees in the area (which broke my heart more than a little bit), Snow Mountain Ranch has really done a lot to begin rejuvenating their land. New tiny little trees are evident everywhere. They have horseback riding, miniature golf, a library, a craft cabin, numerous playgrounds, an indoor pool, a skating rink, a day camp for kids...and obviously, there's access to hiking all over the place. Over this past Memorial Day weekend, we took advantage of a Groupon we'd purchased months ago and spent the night at their Indian Peaks Lodge. Beautiful place, amazing views, comfortable rooms. One thing to note: While we did have both a mini-fridge and a microwave in our room, there was no television. Obviously this is hardly a bad thing, but it did catch us unaware. Last but not least, I will mention the people. The customer service at the ranch is OUTSTANDING. The people who checked us in were super nice and efficient, and the folks who worked in the Commons (where we had breakfast), were also top notch. For an affordable weekend getaway that's less than two hours from Denver, I can't recommend this place enough.
