Yo Mama's Grill, a recent addition to the Socorro dining scene, specializes in classic American comfort food. The restaurant has quickly gained popularity, resulting in a slightly longer wait time to place an order. The server did not check on us during the meal to see if we needed anything or if we wanted to order dessert, and only time she came back to our table was to hand us the bill. However, once the order was placed, the food did arrive at our table promptly. On my second visit a year later as I was passing thru a different server was prompt and attentive with my order (Tech burger with homemade fries).
During our visit, we both opted for the classic hamburger and fries combo. The burger was good and was served on a soft bun with all the traditional toppings, including lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. The fries were crispy, a bit on the oily side and golden brown, making for the quintessential americana type meal one would expect from a regional food chain restaurant.
The overall dining experience at Yo Mama's Grill was positive. The food was delicious, though the service was prompt, the prices were reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes. Yo Mama's Grill is a welcome addition to Socorro's culinary landscape, with its offering of home-cooked comfort food.
