A MUST TRY..! Donald, our server was very nice, and funny. The food was awesome, and the atmosphere, as well as the entire staff made us feel at home. I highly recommend Yo Mama's Grill.

Horrible service. It took waiter three times to go by us before she could bring us to go boxes after we asked for another waiter. Chicken fired steak is terrible as well as dipped ice cream. One of the worst ice creams I had. The only nice thing about the food were mozzarella wedges - those were really good.

Yo Mama's Grill, a recent addition to the Socorro dining scene, specializes in classic American comfort food. The restaurant has quickly gained popularity, resulting in a slightly longer wait time to place an order. The server did not check on us during the meal to see if we needed anything or if we wanted to order dessert, and only time she came back to our table was to hand us the bill. However, once the order was placed, the food did arrive at our table promptly. On my second visit a year later as I was passing thru a different server was prompt and attentive with my order (Tech burger with homemade fries). During our visit, we both opted for the classic hamburger and fries combo. The burger was good and was served on a soft bun with all the traditional toppings, including lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. The fries were crispy, a bit on the oily side and golden brown, making for the quintessential americana type meal one would expect from a regional food chain restaurant. The overall dining experience at Yo Mama's Grill was positive. The food was delicious, though the service was prompt, the prices were reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes. Yo Mama's Grill is a welcome addition to Socorro's culinary landscape, with its offering of home-cooked comfort food.

Upon entering the restaurant today, I observed a moderate number of patrons (approximately 6-10) at tables. Despite making eye contact with at least four different employees at the counter/register, I was not greeted or acknowledged. I stood for several minutes while staff members continued to pass by without offering any customer service. This experience left me with the impression that new customers are not a priority. As a consumer, I value establishments that demonstrate a welcoming approach to all guests, and I will consider other dining options in the future.

Awesome. Great food. Great staff. Met the owner who was super cool and down to earth. Very popular and busy. Had a great burger. Loved it. Their fries had the perfect seasoning and crisp.

Everything was ok. Just ok. I do not issue bonus stars for it being one of the only restaurants in town. I ordered the Yo Mama's steak. The uncooked cheese was uninspiring, and the very spicy green chili that was underneath it should have been made into some kind of sauce... maybe that's what it would have done if the cheese was melted. The salad sucked. Lettuce and cruttons mixed in dressing do not make a Cesar salad. The broccoli was just broccoli. No passion at all. Just check the box. Butter, garlic, cheese, salt, pepper, msg....anything to give it some kind of flavor.

Amazing! We were traveling thru. Seen this place and cannot complain. We placed an order to go and while we waited had a drink at the bar. Cannot complain. We ordered the Bosque Burger/fries and Turkey Avocado Crossaint/fries plus beer and martini while we waited. Clean, nice atmosphere, great food and drinks!! Would definitely recommend.

AMAZING!! Highly recommend. We stopped here on our road trip- our concierge at Days Inn suggested this to us (very kind of her and let us know what time to get food by). We got the Harvester burger and the French Dip. Absolutely delicious! Although we only got burgers and fries, the food was hot, our server was attentive and friendly (I believe his name was Royce and there was another gal I think he was training), and the entire experience was very fast! Wonderful place to stop.

Dining out for dinner in the winter months in Socorro has limited options as many of the restaurants close early. I spoke with the manager at one place and he said ever since Covid, the majority of diners came in during the daytime. So we were glad we found Yo Mama's Grill on the first night we were in town. They serve until 8pm most nights so we arrived around 6:30 and were quickly seated. They were doing a brisk business with almost every table taken. The staff were friendly, hostess seated us and our server soon arrived with menus and to take drink orders. I will warn you, the place can be rather loud when it is full of happy customers but that was ok with us. We all decided to forego an appetizer, even though they all sounded great, but ordered our entrees instead. It didn't take long and salads were soon on the table, which we quickly enjoyed and then they whisked our entrees out of the kitchen to our table, piping hot and carefully plated. We tried the Rib Eye steak, grilled perfectly, a large salad topped with chunks of their fried chicken, grilled salmon over rice and some steak brochettes with grilled veggies over rice. We also ordered a nice bottle of wine! When in Socorro I highly recommend Yo Mama's for a good meal!

Came into town and searched online where to eat. Thought we would try this spot. Lots of seating in this place. Friendly staff, pretty good recommendations. Margaritas were o.k., light poor on the Lemondrop Martini. The Harvest Burger is messy and delicious, fries are tasty. The reuben was alright. The turkey avocado club was fair. Chips and queso was tasty, the Chiles are local in all of their food, so if you like a little heat. Try some of the local goods.

Who would have know this place was GREAT! Best Rueben Sandwich west of NYC. The green chile cheeseburger has a real authentic taste with generous Lemitar chile. Good service too. I will be back!

Very good, consistent food and service. Not a lot of options in this small town, but after spending a few days here for training, this proved to be the best and most consistent! The ribeye is middle of the road, but Cooked correctly. Steal kabobs were too done. Apps and sides were great!

We came in off normal meal hours and had a great experience. Service was wonderful and our drinks were always filled. The food was delicious. I took the servers recommendation for the Yo Momma sandwich. Yummy! It was fast to the table. I splurged on key lime pie that was so good! The restaurant looked new and clean. Very comfortable and laid back atmosphere! We will be back on our travels for sure!

While there aren't a TON of dining options in Socorro, I'd say Yo Mama's is most definitely among the top options. They were also open a little bit later than the other spots which was nice, because finding decent food in this town after 7-8pm can be a challenge. They had a fun cocktail list and a diverse beer menu. I had an awesome local New Mexico stout and then switched to a lemon drop cocktail. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, and it was really good. A large chicken breast meant most of the other awesome toppings were concentrated in the center, but that's fine. Even just the chicken breast plain on the outer edges was tasty. The rest in my group got some sort of green chile burger and they all thought it was amazing. We had good service and enjoyed our time there. I would go back!

You're Grill the One New Mexico Green Chile Cheeseburger Challenge part 3 of 4 The relative newcomer in my Green Chile Cheeseburger Challenge, as they've only been in business for less than ten years (2015), as opposed to the rest of the competition which have all been around for a minimum of fifty years. But Yo Mama ain't no slouch, as despite the lack of experience, they managed to pull out a #2 ranking in my arbitrary poll. Let's get to the goods: Green Chile Burger (aka Bosque Burger): The Bun: Tasty artisanal bun that's only about a step-down from homemade. 4/5 Green Chiles: Check! There's nothing to complain about here, and they're the only one out of the four that used certified NM Green Chiles, if that means anything to anyone. 5/5 Cheese: The NM standard for cheese is a slice--or three--of American cheese - and they got that right here. 5/5 Ancillary topping: It does come with the standard burger accouterments of lettuce, red onions, pickles, and tomatoes. For a Green Chile Cheeseburger I feel like it should be served plain, as the veggies distract from the harmony of Chiles and beef, but I'll give them bonus point for the extra freshness of these ingredients. 4/5 Burger: Perfectly cooked burger that was juicy and had a nice char. The seasonings in the beef really paired well with the chiles, as the burger as a whole was a harmonious meal. 5/5 Fries: Their fries weren't housemade, but they were delicious and had a tasty seasoning on them. 4/5 Conclusion: Overall, at 27 out of 30 points, the Bosque Burger holds its own against some weighty competition and is a worthy runner-up in my competition. Other observations: *Abundant parking in a private lot *No outdoor dining *Local brews on-tap *Friendly service *Great branding and interior décor that really has the feel of a national chain.

NM 01-2024 Socooro's Yo Mama's Bar & Grill for lunch today. Tony and I had our normal drink order and Tony chose the Yo Mama's Chicken sandwich with cheese bacon tomato & lettuce with BBQ Sauce and homemade chips. I chose the crescent sandwich with ham & turkey tomato and lettuce & bacon with mayo with fries. They were both very good. The tea was terrific The waitress was very pleasant and kept checking on us. She forgot my straw and had to ask for extra napkins twice but other than that it was great. Chef was on point!! Highly recommend!!!

We stopped here for dinner just because of the name of the establishment. Who doesn't want to say they ate at Yo Mama's?! The reviews also helped. I decided on the Reuben with their home made chips, my husband got their 10 oz Yo Mama Ribeye with mashed potatoes and a Caesar salad, and my son got the Yo Mama Cheeseburger. The sandwiches were great and I really loved the chips. My husband enjoyed his steak as it was spicy in every bite, covered in peppers and cheese! We had a taste of it. Not my thing but at least he liked it. Service was friendly and good. Nice Christmas decor, TVs and roomy booths.

Went for dinner with colleagues. Hostess was friendly, server was straightforward. I had the Tech burger (burger with cheese, bacon and avocado) with fries. I didn't realize the fries came with heavy seasoning. They were ok, but I found the seasoning overpowering and wish they didn't have it. The burger was huge, I could barely eat half. A colleague got the patty melt, also couldn't finish it due to size. The third person in our party got the chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and Caesar salad and said even the dressing was spicy. Which is interesting because generally Caesar salad is not spicy. There are a lot of options on the menu so probably good for groups.

Update from last stop 7 years ago. Place has gotten a face lift and looks great. Food is still great. I got a huge burger this time around. Service was fast during lunch rush. Looks to be a very popular place in town.

The best in town! Their chips are amazing. Sauteed mushrooms! Rueben! All were great. Hours are strange but they must know their market. Closed weekends? Been coming for several years now. Every fall when we're in town for Bosque.

Was there two weeks ago twice. Once individually and once as a part of a group. The food was substandard as well as the customer service.

The food here was amazing. Saw their billboard and decided to check it out. We ordered a mix of burgers, chicken sandwiches and two kids meals. Everything was cooked in house. Best part was the DESSERT!! Highly recommend stopping here. Great prices!

Great everything great, we were skeptical because of the building appearance on the outside at first. Food filled me up in the best way, great service as well. When you walk in, you already feel pleased.

It's been awhile since I've been to yo mamas but it was my daughters birthday and she chose to eat here. I usually order a big burger but it was lunchtime so I got me a patty melt. This is one of my favorites on the menu but today the bread was solid and hard to chew. The sandwich itself was a little dry too? It's normally really good. My daughter had the kids chicken tender meal and although I thought it was really small, she was happy so that's fine with me. The fries are good here. Service was ok except I hate to have to ask the waitress to refill our drinks especially when they aren't busy. I also like when we offered dessert instead of being asked if we're ready for the ticket. In my opinion yo mamas is just ok. We eat here about 3 or 4 times a year. And I haven't tried a lot of things on the menu other than the burgers and steaks. I did see the people next to us order a huge salad which looked great! I might order that next time! I'll more than like be back again sometime.

Servers were fast and friendly. Steak was soft and juicy. Chicken was tender and saucy.

Fantastic Food! The Yo Mama Burger with chili's added and house chips with a NM Haymaker honey wheat beer awesome. Chicken fried steak was also perfect. Highly recommend if out this way. Service was fast and friendly. It was a "Double Napkin Burger Experience"!!

I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent service and high quality of food at Yo Mama's Grill. The building is unassuming from the outside, but the inside is brimming with tasty food and you can tell the staff is happy there. Thanks for a great meal!

Came with a larger group and everyone was very impressed!! Was recommended the Harvester burger by the waitress and it did not disappoint. The burger was fantastic!! Service was great as well, will absolutely come back!!

Stopped in for lunch, we both got burgers. They were good. Good to know where to stop while driving through. Will stop by again next time to try something else on the menu.

Food is great, service is even better. We met Yo Mama when I came to Socorro the second time. She is an awesome personable business owner and I would definitely come to yo mamas if ever back in town. Try it out, you won't be disappointed! Yo mamas burger is amazing!

We were driving through Socorro, NM and yelping a good spot for lunch. Boy does this place deliver! Super busy which makes the service a bit delayed but very kind and friendly and apologetic for that. We had the starter of chips and green chili and queso....AMAZING!! Pair it with the local IPA!!

Out of no where, this place serves some good food. I really enjoyed the homemade ceasar dressing with anchovies. I can drink this stuff. The greens were so hearty and super fresh. Someone grew these locally? The croutons were fresh. So entree comes with the choice of house salad with green pepper, onions and mixed salad and their homemade balsemc dressing or ranch or some other dressing on the side. Ceasar salad had 3 ingredients (dressing, greens, and croutons-that's it). I asked for parmesan cheese to sprinkle. Our entrees: 10 oz rib eye perfectly seared medium rare. Blackened catfish perfectly done. No additional sauces necessary. Homemade potato chips. A bit salty but its homemade! So good, thinly cut and not oily. If only we had more room in our tummy for dessert.

We stayed in Socorro while traveling through New Mexico. We were recommended to try Yo Mama's' and we were so happy we did. This place is AMAZING! I had the chicken strips and fries and those were the best I've ever had. My boyfriend had a cheeseburger and chips. Both were so good and you won't leave hungry. We traveled on to other locations and found ourselves coming back to Socorro on our way back north and HAD to go back to Yo Mama's. We had the same awesome waitress who recognized us and the owner even came by and said hi and said she thought she recognized us. Staff is great and the food is the best. Highly recommend when in the area. We will def be back when we travel back this way again.

My dad and I came here during the town's high season, and the place was mobbed. Everyone wanted to eat at a restaurant with such high reviews! I ordered the 8oz sirloin and my dad got the pasta, and unfortunately, our meals didn't live up to the hype. My steak was tough and flavorless. I have to assume they do a better job when they aren't so overwhelmed and have more time to craft each meal? However, the staff were superb. Even among the constant demand for attention from so many tables, they provided top-notch service. Their excellence is what brought this review up from a 2.

Yo Mama's is extremely overpriced, especially for the portion sizes they offer. Additionally, service is always slow regardless of how busy the restaurant is or how many workers they have there.

Delicious food and the Red Chile Margarita is not to be missed! Service was great and so was the vibe. I'll be back!

My husband and visited twice during our stay in Socorro. Both times we had great service and enjoyed the food. The staff here is friendly and gave us great service. They were fast, checked on us regularly and kept our sinks full. the food was very good. Small house salad was fresh and delicious. On our first visit we had the blackened chicken sandwich the club sandwich. Both tasted great. The second visit we had the harvester hamburger and chopped steak were juicy and tasted great. Glad we tried this place and will be back the next time we are in Socorro.

Yo Moma's is by far one of the best restaurants in Socorro. I have ate there at least four times in two weeks. I've tried something different every time I have gone and I have not been disappointed. The servers have been friendly and on top of things every time. I'm here for a few more weeks I will definitely be going back.

Our second visit to Yo Mama's. Food was hot and arrived quickly, server was attentive to our needs. Will be making this a regular stop in Socorro when there at meal time.

Recommended to us, we stopped for lunch on the way to Al uquwrauw. Service was courteous and efficient which is rare in the era of post Covid service (or lack thereof). Establishment is a typical grill -- then the green chili corn chowder. . . Wow! The best corn chowder I've had. Rest of the food was great, value is good, I recommend as a lunch stop/grill.

Treats his employees like they are less than human and he'll even drop food on the floor and still serve it. Enjoy your meal!

So. Here for 10d for work, trying all the "yelp" suggestions Yo Mama- not awful not the best, thus far Arrived a little after 1p so not empty-not crowded Service was good; attentive and fairly prompt, with suggestions of menu items No liquor-only beer and wine options. I got the crispy chicken salad and cup of green chili stew Stew was absolutely awesomely tasty! Should got a bowl w SIDE salad. Well seasoned meat and the stew liquid was full of flavor -deemed "spicey", I found it "just right". DEF RECOMMEND! Salad was large and filling, but the crispy chicken had literally No-Zero-nada seasoning in the breading nor the chicken inside the breading. On the outside it looked like it MIGHT have pepper specks but non could be tasted. It literally was breaded chicken pieces-unsalted, unpeppered, unseasoned. Very disappointing The bBq dressing (I got on the side) was decent. And I suppose had they poured it over the salad I might not have noticed the bland chicken -but simply popping a piece in my mouth let me know it was tasteless Again-not horrific. Loved the mixed greens, red onions, won tons, and cheese. I paid an extra dollar to add egg. So overall it was a salad w lots of good stuff. Just wished the breaded chicken had flavor Bottle of bud was $3.50 I suppose I'd come back and try something else, so I guess I'd recommend it. Even just for the stew

Small town with a big deal restaurant. I'm always leery, especially trying a burger. But I caved and was as delighted with the Tech Burger as I was with their delectable fresh-made potato chips. Friendly service, tempting menu from sandwiches to full meals, and I may come back for the key lime pie tomorrow.

This was a surprisingly excellent treat on our road trip to Tucson. I had the avocado/chicken croissant, hubby had the Rueben and both meals were delicious

TL; DR, Yo Mama doesn't know how to do STEAK. Period. Okay, guess who is on travel and came back to Yo Mama and ordered another ribeye steak?!. Anyway, first, the steak is a really bad cut, about 1/3 of the 14 oz is just fat and completely not edible. Second, the steak taste really blend and the best way to describe it is it is a piece of beef meat warmed up to medium rare temperature. Very dull and uninspiring. To be fair, Yo Mama has other food choices, and a lot of them looks fantastic, at least in the pictures. Service is good (they closed on Sat and Sun) too. So if you are visiting, I suggests you try something else.

Nice little spot with a decent selection of burgers and steak/fish options. The wrap was kind of a hot mess and I ended up just cutting it into a salad, but was still good. I love that there were vegetarian options!

This is the only decent restaurant in Soccoro, New Mexico that my co1-worker recommended and I wish them well. I did not really get the dine in experience yet. We ordered here for our staff meeting. The service and food we received to-go are great! This place will be our go to place for future business events for sure.

More like a 4.5 for food but given the options in Socorro it is a 5. Good food, nice selection of local beers, one waitress that was working her buns off.

This is probably the best place in Socorro to grab lunch. We stopped for a quick bite on a road trip and we were glad we skipped the chain restaurants! We were immediately greeted by friendly staff members when we walked in and shown to a table. The waitress came by and quickly took our order within five minutes of us being seated. My boyfriend ordered the teriyaki chicken with a side of broccoli, while I ordered a veggie burger with avocado. The veggie burger was delicious! I routinely purchase veggie burgers from Costco and these were the same patties that are sold there (Morningstar Black Bean burgers). The burger came with sautéed mushrooms and onions and was heavy enough to fill me up, which is sometimes difficult to do on vegetarian food. My boyfriends teriyaki chicken was very small and the serving portion of broccoli was about a cup. He ended up eating most of my french fries because he was still pretty hungry after eating all his food, which is the only reason that I am giving this four stars. My food and the service we experienced were absolutely great and we would be happy to return again to try the fantastic looking pies!

Thank you yelpers! Another great find! My experience with socoro restaurants in the past has been few and not so great. This restaurant, the service is fast the food is very good. Our waitress,Sierra saw to our every need.My dinner companion and I both had the Reuben with extra 1000 island on the side, very ample corned beef in our sandwiches grilled perfectly. Fries came season to and were a little too salty for me. The food came out hot. I will be back to try other dishes. Soccorro you have a winner with yo mamas!

Delicious! Our daughter is at Tech so we've gone out to dinner and lunch in Socorro several times. This was by far our best experience. Our group had the Black Bean Burger, chicken strips, blackened chicken, the Ruben and traditional burger. Everyone loved their choices. Customer service was fantastic! We will definitely make this our future meeting spot!
